PK Perpetual Grow Journal 2020

lol @Stltoed you are really going back on this journal

|Yeah I'm not fan of Rockwool, it's got it's uses, but I try to avoid it. So long as the root is touching the wet pebbles, she'll find her way to more water.

If you go the cloning route long term, maybe a cloner would be a good investment. i like the one that Weaselcracker has. It's just a foam, with a cut slit that holds the stems. The bottom of the stem gets sprayed from an airstone and helps root development. If I ever get into photos- this is how I plan to do my clones.

You can keep using the rockwool cubes, and take them apart as you did, just be careful on the roots, it's easy to tear them when taking them out of the cube (I've done it myself).

Things are looking great, I'm kinda jealous there buddy!
I dont like Rockwool either. Rapid Rooters for me

I'm guessing the slime was probably bennies from your aquarium water that are now dying from the new water change.

I'm only suggesting you just stick with regular water dosed with your nutrients until you get a dwc grow or 5 under your belt before you try things like aquarium water.

If you're pH probe is done for there isn't much you can do but replace it. Do you keep your probe in a storage solution of KCL? It will extend the life of your probe tremendously.
Listen to this man...

I think if you stay the course of tap water with Hygrozyme and just the MC you'll do well. The new pH pen will definitely help. You're already miles ahead of your last hydro attempt.
Top watering is an excellent idea.

The soapy smell of the Part A or B (can't remember), I'm addicted to it. No clue why I like that smell but I would always have to take a good whiff when I dosed my rez.
Just add vermouth and gin and you have a hydrotini. Just playing... dont do that

@Stltoed you do some mad grow!! which journal is the latest?

farside did a comparison of app-based lux meters with a real one and it showed that app-based ones aren't even good for relative light levels, much less accuracy.

And I can't post any of the links to online lux-PPFD calculators because they're all on non-sponsor lighting websites, but a quick google search will turn them up. You will need to know the ºK of your lights though, as it makes a difference to the calculation.
But you really don't want to use LUX as a value because its only looking at a small portion of the spectrum, not the light as a whole right?

To screw a screw into your plant!? What is it supposed to do, fix an iron issue? Are you sure Jim likes you? Unreal...
it's not difficult to figure who likes me and who dosnt, people hear what they like to hear and shit talk what they want to shit talk. ppl are ppl
I read all of it
Thank you. pretty easy setup?

A ppm shift of 2 or 3 is nothing to worry about.
well i don't know. lol, i was expecting it to go down because the ph is around 5.8to6.5 which i thought the plant is eating ,so it should go down not up? lol, thx for the lesson bud :laughtwo: :laughtwo:

Ok, ive read this thread and the single greatest asset here, far more beneficial that Z9 is Penny. This guy is so great, am I right?! The control to keep from trackin PK down and strangling him, paired with the knowledge to give one great answer after another, Is inspiring. But thats how he is... quiet, smart, makes great decisions. if you get 2 sentences out of him its a big deal, but its sage advice! You don't know how lucky you are PK.
