Perpetual Grow Among Other Things!

For removing chloramine for the flowering plants get a refillable carbon filter and fill it with catalytic carbon. Catalytic carbon is a special type that removes difficult molecules like chloramine. There is a filter casing called a big blue and they are about 30 bucks for a 10" housing. Then get a filter cartridge specifically for it that is refillable for about 10 bucks. The catalytic carbon is the expensive part. But if you buy some it will be enough to last a few years as one filter full lasts 6+ months.

FE I just work with the chloramine. I keep a jug of standard chlorine for cloning. And you are right an air pump and air stones are necessary.

So I soak the stones in bleach water (1cap/ gallon) for 12 hours. I spray out the cloner with bleach water and air dry. I soak the foam things in a cooler filled with bleach water and put the pump in there running it at the same time. I soak the emitters in bleach water and swirl them around with a chop stick to remove any organics stuck inside. Now we are all cleaned out. I reassemble and fill with tap then take the clones. The air stones in there are primarily there to introduce fresh air and pump out stagnant air.

Every two days I add 0.5ml of bleach for the 10 gallon resevoir. At two days the chloramine that was originally there has dissipated because of contact with organic matter (those stems). So we add 0.5ml bleach every two days. In a week you should have roots.

I appreciate you Shiggs!

That is super info! I am going to so that maybe as early as tonight. I have been running the cloner for weeks and it needs all of the above. I am going to continue with the cloner but I am also attempting clones direct into Coco. I clip them and shave the stem .. a little gel and into rockwool with no perelite and with alot of constant waterings. Seems to work well for people who do it that way. But I will probably not trust that until i see results so my cloner will still be up and running I am sure!
Thanks again Shiggs.. Reps .. good stuff!

Bam this is exactly what I did but my Catalytic filter is not refillable. 6K gallons though so should last a year for 35 bucks... I went with the hydrologic small boy. Cat filter was separate. Slowed down my refills from 10 minutes to an hour.. but should take care of the chloramine. The part I hate is things like that won't show except I know it cleaned out the chloramine. Luckily I saw all this happen early enough... So none of the plants where hurt from the bacteria. Growing is just keeping things going the best I can until the next lesson shows up!

Thanks again shiggs!

The Somewhat Weekly Update!

So I try to update weekly but that doesn't always work out. So here is the latest grow update! Things are moving along well. Some more small set backs but nothing serious. Well nothing I consider serious this year but last year I would have been flippin out. So in Veg things are getting a little cramped so Where I had the cloner I expanded my solo cup collection. They don't really need to be in the drain tub as I hand water all of the cups.

The cloner is stowed for a little while. I cleaned it and ran bleach mix through it for awhile. When I reach the next time I want to pull a bunch of clones i will pull it back out but I want to play a little with cloning into coco direct for a bit. I have a couple right now that are a few days in and one is doing well. The other isn't but it was a nasty clipping anyway... I need to keep trying it and see if it is that simple...

So the mites made their way into Veg... No big deal it seems the latest FP clone was the most affected... It isnt much just some spotting. I green cleaned veg 4 times today... once in flower but more selective as some of the plants are closer to harvest... another spray in a few days in veg outta keep them at bay for awhile again. I am sure I will be doing this for another month or two until summer is over. Bugs are starting to look for that warm place for winter. What better a place than my ideal environment I created....lol I don't fret too much on this stuff like I use to. I get the initial pissed off what a pain in the ass this is feeling. Then I get over it and get to work on it. Spider mites.... Gnats.... Cyanobacteria... Whatever...

Gnats seem to be gone.. My traps have a good amount on them but i feel like it is all older ones... I have been treating them regularly as a root drench in the pots and see no adverse affect to the plants and have not had a "fly by" i have seen and looks atleast to be much better.. It was never horrible but I could tell when some eggs would pop so hopefully the drenches took care of it.

I may even be over treating... The pump sprayer rocks! I have batches made up of gnat and mite sprays... load it up and a few pumps boom that thing soaks all the plants thoroughly and I spray the walls.. floor... drain tub...

So let's get into some pics...

IMGP1734.JPG
IMGP1735.JPG
IMGP1736.JPG
IMGP1737.JPG
IMGP17381.JPG
IMGP17391.JPG

I did alot of Veg pics...

The solo pic of the FP is the one that has some spotting. It is hard to see as the GC leaves spots too... A couple of the solo cups need to be ditched as they are dead but I always hold out hope..lol Things are doing well. I think I went a little crazy in veg as there isn't even an opening in flower yet and I will have alot ready soon... But that is where the Coco cloning project will come in... Reclone some plants...

So over in flower..

IMGP1740.JPG
IMGP17511.JPG

The group shots... I kind of organized it so one side of the room is the younger plants and the other is the more mature ones... Just something I am trying out... That way canopy levels are more even. Now that I have the pots easy to unscrew and move I can play with this as I like and that is just cool!

IMGP17411.JPG
IMGP1742.JPG
IMGP1743.JPG

Sour diesel about half way through... If it runs to term... It already looks yummy! I have yet to get that Bam run on it and this is gonna be the one!

IMGP1744.JPG
IMGP1745.JPG
IMGP1746.JPG

Above the pineapple chunk is gonna be another good one. as always!
Look at the HST i did to it.. gotta keep it from getting too close to the LED's.

IMGP1747.JPG
IMGP1748.JPG
IMGP1749.JPG
IMGP1750.JPG

Then these are from the WW that is at like week 7? It will be the next chop but still 2-3 weeks... Last one was harvested clear trics if I recall I want to see if this one can grow healthy to dark tric's.

IMGP1752.JPG
IMGP1753.JPG
IMGP1754.JPG

Ahh the Jack Herer. This was the one that went into flower tiny. It didn't like the gas lantern in veg. I want to try another seed as the clones died as they where too immature. If it has issues in veg i was gonna still let it run in veg longer and then flower it and see what happens. I just back burnered it cause I already popped seeds and stuff.. but soon...

IMGP1755.JPG
IMGP17561.JPG
IMGP1757.JPG

NL#5 gifted to me... I am interested to see this one and the next one as they are new strains to me... This one is like a week in flower tops and has been sprayed to shit over and over with cleaner to make sure it is clean.

IMGP1758.JPG
IMGP1759.JPG
IMGP17601.JPG

Then we have BlueBerry Headband. This was an unsexed plant but it is female. Great luck... It is 2?3? weeks into flower? It has entered stretch and I HST'd this a little too... It is looking very pretty!

So that about sums it up. As usual just plugging along. I am using the filtered water now and hopefully that is really going to step things up for me. If the bennies where never really working before and just being killed off then now they should be able to flourish. The plants should be much happier....

As always thank you for coming by... If I don't make it to everyone threads as often it is because the MOTM nomination kinda made me want to help some people more so I am trying to work on helping one new person that needs it as often as I can... I realized though that there is a posse of 420 members who do so as well... I am honored to be part of this community...

Heya Buds. Man I got some new beans on the way. Some are high in CBD. Lemme know............. hit me up for a list I gotcha

FE hey man. Howgozit? Quick question. When mixing, micro first. Bloom second. When did you add kool bloom ?

Phrum the light room.

I Am Growing How Many Strains Right Now?

So as the title says. I am shocked at how many I am growing. I guess I went a little overboard on the bean popping. I am up to 14 at this point. Seeing as I only put them into flower at 6 max this is going to make a little back log in veg going to flower but oh well.... I'll probably just reclones some and some I'll let veg longer and go into flower larger.

So the list is this...
Pakistani valley is a recent seed pop.
Dinafem Original Amnesia is recent as well.
Ripper Seeds Toxic is recent.
Afghani I am popping 5 regular seeds right now to try my hand at sexing them some more.
Fruit Punch is doing well in Veg
Sour Diesel is in flower and a couple really good clones.
Train wreck is a long standing one for me.
White Widow is another I am continuing.
ACDC is the high CBD and almost no THC strain I am barely keeping around..
Northern Lights from seed almost ready for uppot to 5 gallon and to flower.
Northern Lights #5 a strain gifted to me from a friend.
Blue Berry Head Band another gifted to me.
Pineapple Chunk my longest running most successful strain.
Bubba Kush that I am starting again but seed is struggling. 3rd try on BK lets hope.

So that is the run down. As you can see I have been busy with seeds etc..
It may not be the best idea but I wanted veg to be more abundant as I was running lower than capacity in flower and that just can't happen again. I would rather have a little extra work recloning and stuff than to not have plants ready to flower when there is an opening.

So I have still been dealing with the gnats. Still not serious but I do see one here and there again. So the latest is I have been using the SNS 203 root drench but i also just added growstone Gnatnix. Covered all the plants tops in flower and veg. No more exposed Coco anywhere... i like the way it looks actually kinda looks...clean... So let's go look

IMGP17611.JPG
IMGP17622.JPG
IMGP17631.JPG
IMGP17641.JPG
IMGP17651.JPG
IMGP17661.JPG

I reversed the room. My light slopes up towards the rise in the table. So that is the end where the bigger plants are now. I want the younger stuff to be farther from the light to stretch a little and to lessen the power on younger plants. But as they get closer to ready for flower I want them to stop getting so tall and start to fill out more. Thus being closer to the light the plant will fill in less vertical. At Least this is how it all seem to make sense in my head.

This is again starting to look more and more how I envisioned this when I embarked on this hobby a long time ago. Funny thinking back to the worries and issues when I started and how I am so much more in control of things. Not saying I am not having issues but I don't stress and I definitely have improved my problem solving skills.

So over in flower we have a full boat.. Let's go look!

First the short side .. younger ones

IMGP1779.JPG
IMGP1778.JPG

Then we have the more Mature ladies...

IMGP1767.JPG
IMGP17682.JPG

IMGP17691.JPG
IMGP17701.JPG
IMGP17711.JPG

So above we have a WW that is week 7/8... I will start to check the Tric's soon and it is the next to come down. I have grown fond of this strain as a good go and get things done high. Good energy not too stoney...

IMGP17721.JPG
IMGP17731.JPG
IMGP1774.JPG

Then we have Pineapple Chunk above. It is a Fav but I may run through the clones. I have a new seed i popped from hermie and I believe that makes it a female? not sure on that but if it is great. If not then I will try a few more seeds if I can replicate these results then great. I have heard that the chances the seeds don't produce nice plants is high. If that happens I will just add then to my next seed order...

IMGP1775.JPG
IMGP1776.JPG
IMGP17771.JPG

Then this one above is Sour Diesel. I am hoping to run it full this time. I do like to smoke it. Such a long run though but worth it if I can complete it this time. So far this thing is looking amazing and I hope it continues.

IMGP1780.JPG
IMGP17811.JPG
IMGP1782.JPG

The little jack Herer was not even on my strain list as this is the only one. My clones didn't take and the plant was already flowering while still in veg. So I have more seeds.. maybe someday...

IMGP17831.JPG
IMGP1784.JPG
IMGP17851.JPG

NL#5.. still early.. A gift so I have no idea what to think but NL is super popular everywhere....

And last but not least....

IMGP1786.JPG
IMGP1787.JPG
IMGP17881.JPG
IMGP1789.JPG

BlueBerry HeadBand... I loved Blueberry stuff when I visited Amsterdam many years ago. I don't think I have sampled it since.

I really am just looking forward to trying out the new strains soon. I have been on the same strains for awhile now and It will be nice to have a bigger variety to smoke. Soon enough I should have quite a selection of choices!

Thanks for joining me on my journey...

Heya Buds. How long does a cloner take to root clones ?
Ps my hand is up
Hope you are good. Garden looks great. I am impressed with BBHB and Northern Lights. My NL are gettin bigger and stinkier.
Later bud

Phrum the light room.

I aint been on here in weeks...but I am today...how random?

When I do I get on here I stop by this one...

But I mostly look at the pics to be honest.

You know me I am looking for unsolved problems. And not going back over weeks of stuff I missed. :)

But when I do have time to be on I keep up with all of your posts ... it has just been weeks for me. Someone asked a question on an old post so I responded and while on I had to swing by.

I love your supper cropping. I got some real knuckles going myself on my hedge. And my regrow... I super'd her hard too and she just won't stay down.

:goodjob:

I am so jealous of you flood table. I want one but I can never pull the trigger and pay the price my grow shops change. One of these days.

Gnats are a bitch. I had problems with them on my last grow. Luckily they don't seem to like my hb plants so the problem just went away. I hope you get it under control brotha. It appears as though you have taken every correct step to rid you of those pests.

Cheers buddy

can be anywhere from 7-14 days on the cloner and rooting lotta variables depends how you set it up

hey Brotha Far everything is looking Great sounds like your really busy and kinda backlogged lol
I was like that not I'm just trying to make sure spots are filled
Catch ya Later Brotha :thumb:

Buds,
Hey man You been quiet. Hope all is well. Things are chuggin along round here.

Thank you VI I as well go to your thread when ever it pops up with new content on my list. I am honored how you still come here and still can not thank you enough for your guidance before. I am still running live and I am sure will be making tea sometime in the future.

Thank you noob! The flood tables are sweet. It makes it easy to wash down plants .. clean... They are all drain to waste so easy peasey...

Thank you Cronic great words from a master like you... Funny I am a little back logged.. 1 lady ready for flower and 2 weeks before a spot... But it was slow for awhile in flower before.. now I am opposite..lol

haha same on my journal :)

I love this content though, all the strains, very health ladies. Keep going !

Thank you I recently have lost some younsters that where already established from seed so that made me sad but I am running a ton of new stuff either way. More to come....

Buds,
Hey man You been quiet. Hope all is well. Things are chuggin along round here.
Later man.

Things are busy.. I was on vacation for a bit there so I was away alot. I was asking who reads this due to the fact I have 100 subs and it was becoming a part time job to read them all. So i wanted people to speak up here cause mostly I reduced it to people that follow me. No offense to others meant. There are so many nice people here on 420. I just can't handle all that. I would like to help more new people to the forum and look to but the real long time pro's here usually take care of most of that when i look.

Feel free to chime in here with what you like and don't like about my thread... Too many pic? not enough?
Too much talking?
Not enough?
Just right?

Methods of posting... Pics separate from text? Imbedded like I do?

I'd love to have more followers of my thread...

Any way thanks to you all I will continue to post as long as I can and thanks for being a part of it...

Let's Play Name That Deficiency!

So as the story says.... I seem to get a deficiency late in flower. I may have fixed it as in flower I boosted everything I feed and let's see what happens but can you tell me what the def is?

IMGP17911.JPG

So It is on the upper side of the plant not low. But i had been losing some lower ones to yellow bleaching as well.. Greenhouse WW med is the strain. The last few runs and maybe even from day one i always seem to struggle the last week with a little miss somewhere.

So let's go look at the line up though...

Veg is doing well but like I mentioned I seem to be off there a bit too as I have lost a few seedlings. I can only feel like they are getting too wet. I also have still been dealing with gnats so I have root drenched them in azatrol... Probably it is the cause... I need to lay off that stuff on the roots cause there is gnatnix so they cant get at them except the 1 gallon drain holes... Ned to get some smart pots 1 gallons to cure that. Then there will be no exposed Coco going forward. That should do it.

I am not dealing with them much at all. My traps catch 1-2 a day and that isnt anything I am overly worried about. But I am still treating it continuously to make sure it doesnt get bad.

IMGP1792.JPG
IMGP1794.JPG
IMGP1795.JPG
IMGP1796.JPG

The last pic is a NL going to flower next but like I said it is a couple weeks away. I am using a new method of topping at a certain point and tieing down the sides. My hopes are in flower all those exposed interior sites will stretch and become cola's. Looks pretty as you will see in flower.

So other than that stuff veg is doing pretty well.. I am still feeling out the new way of doing things in veg and so far so good...

So in flower let's go look... Things are getting pretty frosty I would say!

IMGP1797.JPG
IMGP18081.JPG

Group Shots... "Tall" and "Short" sides.... This has been working out excellent... The BBHB was on the short and moved over after I recently harvested the WW in there... I moved the Lights up on the tall side 8 more inches which I think will help as some of my issues I believe where light bleaching but that I think was only in certain plants/situations... Doesn't sound like much but 8 inches was considerable...

IMGP1798.JPG
IMGP1799.JPG
IMGP18001.JPG

WSo above is the BBHB I mentioned. I think it is week 4? It is developing some solid nugs already.. I catch it's smell once in awhile but I can't smell it on the plant yet really. Just once in a while I am like mmmm...

IMGP1801.JPG
IMGP1802.JPG
IMGP18031.JPG
IMGP1804.JPG

SD is looking like its ready to chop.. but nope it is suppose to run 3-4 more weeks.. I can't wait. This plant finally seems to be running better. I tried twice before and didn't have good results... No maybe that was BK but once on the SD and it sucked anyways....

IMGP1805.JPG
IMGP1806.JPG
IMGP1807.JPG

Then we have PC of course. Last one on the strain i think. I have one in veg in a 1 galllon but I have a new seed I popped if it is female then this thing is run its course. I may just do it regardless if any new strain has similar potency. Love the PC just want to start it over...

IMGP1809.JPG
IMGP18101.JPG
IMGP1812.JPG

So above is the JH that went into flower tiny as it was flowering in Veg. It is just making weight on what it has and I look forward to testing this one out. So many people like it and the Hairs are insane on it... I have backup seeds to run if I fall in love... lol

IMGP18131.JPG
IMGP1814.JPG
IMGP1815.JPG

Then above we are looking at the NL#5 just about 3 weeks in? It is going to have adequate bud sites I just need to get her on the feeding regiment.... She flowered right up so lets see what we get..

IMGP1816.JPG
IMGP1817.JPG

This last one is a FP if I recall...oh yah it is... I sorta mainlined it a little or what I consider that,,...
It has still all the veg coloring This was a first choice of my latest seed order so I look forward to the start of that testing ;)

So another thing to note... i still do my daily testing of PH.. not PPM as much mostly that when I mix it up .. The PPm does not change for me in drain to waste to I really just balance the PH. Rarely do I need to even adjust it but I still check it daily. Cups of liquid and a Bluelab pen. No complaints as Bluelab makes great stuff...

But not like the Bluelab combo meter to monitor flower and a little cheapie PH only for veg not BL but we'll try that too...

So now I can leave them in the Rez's and just view the reading and only need to even open lid on rez if something is off... I can't wait!

Basically I am always looking at the next automation or improvement. Simple ways of doing things. My clones direct to Coco have so far been working.. 3 or 4 successes so far but still testing it...

So that's about it for this update brought to you straight from Far East of something...

:peace:

Nice.

I hate bugs... sadly I brought them in from an outdoor acquisition, A Malawi Gold so it was worth it.

I decided to kill all my veg stuff and take clones. Except for one acapulco gold which is going to flower in 30 days.

Then I put the coco from the killed plants into the oven :) Bye bye eggs and larvae.

Good luck bro, buds look tastey
