Out With The Old In With The New!

So the conversion is done.... Well never is done I am waiting on the new light etc. What I mean is I now have all the plants moved.. Rez's moved.. Fans Etc.. all done... The lights i have are moved into their spots... When I get the new light they all will need to be moved again but good for now. I actually need the new light to help the temps a little. Flower seems to want to stay at 67-68 degrees and down to 60 dark. The room is a lot bigger so the LED's don't put off the heat like the HPS I was using last fall so that explains it. That new LED should fix that. I am playing with a small space heater but meh...

My rez was siphoning to the plants with the pump off so I did the 1/4 inch vent trick and it worked like a charm. I was thinking that was going to be a harder issue to solve.. nope... New room has good Karma already... So let's go take a look at it.

Empty but lines hooked up about to fill the rez.... I ran an RO line to the Rez so I can fill it by opening a valve... Nice Very Handy... I am thinking this barrel will eventually be replaced.. and a bigger RO filter setup would be nice... This 30 takes awhile to fill.. I am sure a 55 would be crazy... I am still running only the 6 for a week or two. I need to do some veg work uppotting as it is over due!

That is a pic of the filter and the hallway... The right wall will have 2 tubs both 2x4. 5-6 more plants will go there under the existing lights. Then the mover and the PS1000 will be in the big area the lights are in now.

Dehumidifer on the right drains directly to waste...

There they are with a good growing area. That PS1000 should rage with the plants growing space. I do think I will stick with 5 in each side when I get the other setup in here up and running... They are crammed a tiny bit more than I like. Running 10-11 total would be sweet!

Last Pic shows the rez.. Fan and the rest of the gear. A very clean almost completely air tight setup. Panda film on the ceiling and some walls. as well as new sheetrock etc. I gained about a foot in this area of vertical grow height but still not as much as i would like. And the mover and new will change all that. But with the mover I can run them much closer to the light. Should be interesting.

The mover does mean i need to figure out how to stabilize heavy branches. I love the Yoyo's So maybe something under the light running full length...attach them to that... Bah i'll figure it out...


So not a lot of individual info this update.. Mostly new room talk... But you can see things so far are so good... Hopefully it stays this way... Clean and producing!

We had a recent upset a few days ago but she is strong and we will keep trying. She says to say high from her. Okay Buds I will let you go. I think I will start journaling again in a couple weeks. A Somewhat Normal Update.

So time for an update and I have settled into the new room and routine a tiny bit. It will take awhile and I haven't even installed the new drain tray or the new light. The light is suppose to be here tomorrow and the mover on Saturday so very soon. I am sure saturday night so the next update should include it. It will be late next week before the new drain tray arrives so a week or so to get more plants into flower...

It is taking some time but I am getting close to done with all the upgrades. Certainly wasn't cheap when it is all said and done but I should be very well off for a long time.. Other than just buying nutes and supplies.

So The switch to Technaflora so far is doing very well.. I am running a very clean Rez in flower and veg. No sign of ick so far... And the plants are really eating it up they are all looking fabulous. Well veg some are a little wacked as I had some in solo's way too long. I have an issue when I was building I wasn't the best to the plants. Some needed cloning and uppotting but I was just lacking time. So I seem to be back on schedule on that. But let's go look....

That is one of the afghani unsexed plants. Those three all got a little leaf deficient. They where drinking the solo cups dry daily and I was busy busy. They probably needed 2 waterings a day. Wasn't possible.

But they will be fine. I am running three to sex them etc.. They are now in 1 gallon pots feeding daily and they are just starting to recover...

So that is all of veg and yes it looks sorta familiar. It is the old flower room. Basically I just moved all the fluorescents in here and there yah go... It is double the space and when flower gets the last upgrade plant should be able to cycle through here better. A little back log of huge veg plants as you can tell.. There will be some really big flowers coming up...



So flower is kinda jammed in there... I would really like to run one less plant in the 8 foot tray. There will be some shuffling of plants I am sure... So lets look...

Things are looking as good as I ever have done. Still some time on all of them but more on some than others... The youngest three are all going to be harvested around the same time so I will need to be ready to replace them... Phew .. getting There...
So hard to see each one separate but here we go...

Northern lights... This one from seed is the first full run. It still has several weeks and I think I will like this one. Those pistils are unbelievable. I am not sure i recall seeing any of my other strains have that many. Let's hope it smokes as good as it is looking...

This is the next to the chopping block. Fruit Punch. I am running another right next to it...

These two plants have made a new smell in the room. I am not use to it. I like it.. I look forward to tasting it..It is suppose to be very good. They grew extremely sativa like and they where super easy. The seed I popped has some weird genetic defect as it has curvy leaves and some discoloring that looks like mosaic's. But it hasn't slowed it down. I will pop a fresh seed sometime soon.

Ok above is a BBHB that I am concerned with. The last one hermied all to shit and I don't want this one to. I will harvest it early to avoid it. I ditched the clones and such.... Moving on...

Sour Diesel. It is the longest running strain I have in regards to flower time. This one is already looking very well. But it is slower developing. I have an SD curing and it really is great tasting and heavy feeling. Love it...

And last is the WW...

This one really needs to fill in some. But it is young and lot's of time for that. This is almost everyone's fav. Even I am starting to enjoy the taste after a decent cure. It always seems to make solid nugs of flavor of the long burning variety.. lol

There is some new stuff from seed coming up so things should be even more fun soon. Once the second half of the new flower room is done I should be busy regularly cutting trees down. Going to be a blast... well not really a blast but productive...

Thank you for those kind words Noob. I'm very flattered. I still feel like I am leaving some proverbial bud out there... I always seem to have some issue preventing a clean run. I am getting good results 3-5 zips per plant. But I think I would be saying 5-8 If I can start hitting it right. The new feed regiment and I think the ick may be solved. I have never seen them look as good as now. A couple are getting close to harvest and I see no potassium deficiency like last time. Slowly but surely I should get the results I am seeking. Running a full balance and great environment I shouldn't be holding them back anymore.

I'm adding a 1200 watt Led to my 600 watt hps for my next grow. From what I have learned and observed, it's all about the lights. I know you are set there so you should be on your way to your goal. +reps for being cool!

How true how true. I do think it is all about the lights... I ran a 600hps on my first couple of grows and had huge results even with issue's. But once summer came I switched to all LED for heat issue's and I have had some great results. Not like the HPS. I did just get that PS1000 and i think that will be as good as most HPS.
With the new flower room, New nute line up that I think will be more balanced, and new light, I believe I should easily start to hit those numbers...
Next Friday the last drain table will be in and then I can start adding more into flower. I am going to try to work up to 10-12 in flower at a time still doing the perpetual thing. Funny how I want it all and now but I need to keep to my theme of patience. It is all coming around nicely and methodically and I need to stick to that.

My methods, Budget, Desire, Knowledge have all changed so much since I started all this. The first six months every issue I had made me wondering why i do this. I could just hit the dispensary. But after that I became less afraid of the work and issue's related to growing. Now things can get tiresome. But I expect it at times and embrace it now. If i get gnat that we will kill those f#$%^&s. Mites suck but they will not win. (and didnt,Won't) Heat? AC.. The only things are when I can't get it.. Like the ick in my rez. 2 weeks and still clean. But even very experienced growers have been baffled at the cause. My local grow shop has several customers that it keeps popping up including me. But I think we got it. (knock,knock). Stuff like that gets me frustrated.. Changing a 30 gallon and 15 gallon rez every 2-3 days is no fun. DTW system should be as simple as filling it and a week later when it is empty a quick rinse and refill. Once in a while every few.. Sterilize it.

I am totally rambling...

The Frustration Of Crappy Luck!

So I had a very unusual situation recently. Yes there is a happy ending.. I guess...

So in my last update you see hoe beautiful the new light and mover are. I am expecting good things.. I went in on Monday.. a few days after installing the mover to play with the delay. I was like man that is way to long... adjust it down.. still?... down to zero...?????? ummm this thing isn't moving.... Ummm... still no... Ok take off the light and inspect closer.... Wheels on the mover broke... Ok I know I installed it right... Spring loaded... blah blah.. worked three days.. 2 days... So I email Company I purchased it from.... Email back... Sounds like installed wrong... I email picks of install... Adamant that the mover was installed correctly with no substitutions for any hardware supplied... I get a call the next AM from the owner of the light mover company... Yes there was an issue with the wheels and they will send me replacements asap.. Other than it take a day to make them. And three days to get them to me... (I would have sent them fed ex overnight personally.) Didn't seem so asap to me... Plus i needed to rebuild a brand new mover... not too much time but...

So anyway today I reinstalled it all... I had to switch all my lights to cover the plants when the mover was down. So they spent a week without the adequate light really. I had taken out the PS1000 for fear of it being too much for any plants without a mover. (get back up parts.. Note to self)

A lot of work this week for not... But as of tonight i am back up and running normal...New setup normal...


Well sorta...

I went to pickup the final tub (1x8) for the last row of plants in flower. Then I can start maximizing the amount in flower. Well atleast increase it as they become ready for it... WTF do you mean it isnt in? not for almost 2 more weeks? Well that won't do.. no it wont... so try to get a 1x8 tray shipped... 150 bucks shipping... WTF ... So two 1x4's are on their way and they will just f in have to do... Sense some frustration?

So things are doing very well anyway... I am battling the gnats still.. The last week they seem to be worse... Just to add insult to the injury my huson spray broke so it became a pain in the ass to root drench them... GRRR So yesterday I bought a 1 gallon pump sprayer... Hopefully that will last longer than 2-3 months... Back tp every 3 days on the drench and I am going to get them this time... I gnatnix all the plants so I am not really sure how they are reproducing.. More diligent on the sprays again and they will be gone.


Ok really I'm fine....

Lets go take a look at veg....

So right after the pic's I moved the biggest one into flower..

Original Amnesia... Dinafem seeds if i recall...

The plan is that the big tub is the future flowers.... The solo cup tub is my projects clones... etc.. They are all manually watered and under less light. Kind of a pain but hard to automate these ones... maybe someday a drain and fill would work nicely... I like drain to waste so wonder if I could setup a pump fill,, pump drain... That way I could fill it for like 30 min they drain it.... Hmmmm Gonna hafta think up something... I like the idea (really just came up with it)

So veg is doing very well... I have 3 afghani's in big veg that i need to send to flower to sex them soon... So i cloned them and that is the first time cloning directly to coco that the clones took a beating... i think all three will live but I was certain they wouldn't. I'd hate to ruin my 100% streak! I have yet to lose any since the switch... Cmon little buddies pull through!!!!!!!

So lets switch over to flower....

I have two plants I will harvest tomorrow morning. A Fruit Punch and a BBHB.
The BBHB is two weeks early but I gave up on the strain and wanted to shuffle stuff around... Wanted the space... It hermied the first time as it was from a possibly beat up strain. I just didn't want to deal with it anymore... So it may be used for other stuff...projects not sure... I waited until it was something to chop.... but if the strain was clean it would have been worth having around...

Looks nice but it grew with deficiencies even though the other plants are all looking great.... I always have the issue I feed all my various strains the same PPM and feed.. So over time I will have to learn what strains are ok with that and continue those ones... Never an issue testing new strains for me.. Veg has new ones coming...

So now let's talk about the FP... It didn't finish well... for one it spent the last week with the light shuffle. But I did put it directly under one of them... But... I needed to string it up and with all that was going on I was not as attentive as I should have been. I did after a few days but right now i moved it so I could grab it in the dark tomorrow easily.. So it looks funny... But that sucker is tasty as shit! and I haven't smelled anything like it in my grows before...

Didn't fatten up as much as I expected but those damn crystals are so heavy they curled the leaves. Best crystals for me yet...Every nugget is solid solid but they all stayed what I consider medium sized. New strains are fun. I have another one like 2 weeks away. More clones... Hope it is a keeper....

Here is the other one...

NL from seed... Pineapple chunk from hermie seed....WW from clone... NL#5, Sour Diesel. umm what am I forgetting? It is getting hard to remember what is what so I may not single out plants as much like I use to ...

I am just glad that things are settling into the new room well. Once I have a few weeks under my belt with everything working well I will be happier. The move wasn't bad and I love the new room but those issue's where a pain. Fingers crossed that from here it will be nothing but big buds and more bud related projects.....

Sorry about your mover problems. Hope you get her up and running again. I'm toying with the idea of growing in my whole room instead of the tent. How do you control odor in your room? I have an awesome filter and exhaust fan so I would think I could keep it controlled as long as the room is sealed. I could control heat with the air con in one window and exhaust/odor control out the other window. Seems like it would work. Don't know if the weezy would be down if I did that though. Lol what are your thoughts?

The owner of the light mover company made the replacement parts brand new himself and messaged me several times yesterday to insure i was happy. Like i said just shit luck but overall I am pretty pleased with the service. He was a great to deal with and did personally attend to this. It's running perfect right now (knock knock)

I switch it up on the heat battle. In the summer I use AC and in the winter I pull cool air from my basement (I grow in a basement) and vent it outside. I run 750 CFM fans and they do the trick my 430 cfms struggled. The AC season is so much easier.. No venting just run ac. But of course that does add a cost.

On the smell side... I run a 3 ft Phresh filter and it sorta goes the trick. I have a couple times of the day that i get a little aroma in the house. When the lights shut off in flower... At that point it is no longer venting to outside so the aroma sits in the room. I did some research and realize that my CFM for the filter do not match and that is critical to be fully effective. I panda filmed the room extremely well (flower) but I do get a small amount of smell from time to time. Right now I harvested 2 plants and they are in my utility room. That is causing a stink

So to a summarize.. LED's so heat has been manageable but smell is still a work in progress... I know the solution... New fan for the filter and Possibly a second one running... My flower room is pretty big now... I am sure that makes it harder...

Man sux about the tubs. TheBBHB too. I hadda let that one go as well. I stopped popping seeds that I didn't know the origins of or outta bags. I keep em still, when I come across them. Habit. I want pedigreed strains for now, but still check every day for nanners n such, never know.
I had a gnat problem a while back and after using tobacco they were under control. Lotsa risks involved though. Then I got the SNS stuff. Wow. They have this product labeled 203, I use 2.oz of per gal when I flush between every other feeding- by itself- as a preventative. Actually I used it once right when I got it. Then I thought job done. Three weeks or so goes by and I see em makin a come back. I 203 em and it takes a couple days but they go.
Tobacco, One shot one kill. But dangerous.

That FP is sounds like something I may want to look into. Too bad about the medium sizers but good smoke is good smoke. You will do much better with it in the near future. Good vibes. How's that Afghani smoke ? Always wanted to try that.

So now you got the PS up and moving and looks like you're going pretty hard in veg. I can't wait to see this set up in 45 days or so. Lots going on and looking like you are bringing it all together well. I will stop in later on and check you out. Keep up the great work you are almost there. What's next ?

I am pretty excited for the PS1000. The Northern Lights from seed will be 8 weeks friday and all the pistils where browning up nicely but the new light in just 3 days it decided to pop a bunch of new white pistils? I can only assume it is the light. I was running for almost a week without it so I am sure the plants didn't have the intensity they needed. But it seems the PS1000 took care of that.

I really like the FP. I just need to master how to grow it. And all this is based on growth I have yet to smoke my strain of it. (drying right now ) It finished with solid well developed nugs but I think I could have gotten them bigger. I hadn't supported it well and moved it under diff lights etc near the end there... There is another coming up soon. Hopefully even better than this one.

I agree on the strains I keep. No genetic flaws needed. The new PC so far appears female. It is in flower. That is the only one I have been trying to keep even though it has issue's. I will order more beans if this one doesn't work out. I'll probably order new beans soon either way. Gotta keep up the testing!

I have yet to try the Afghani. Just remember it as a kid. Well not really but did have it a few times.. just can't remember shit from back then...lol!!!
First run is currrent. Three unsexed in veg. As soon as the clones take.. (it hated cloning) I will send these three into flower small small... Just to get them sexed. then I will know what I have Soon!

The gnats are not hurting anything... I put the Gnatnix all over the tops of the plants so they can't lay eggs in the roots. But they try. I was spraying Azatrol on the roots for weeks and could barely see a one. I have no idea why but when I root drench my plants with Azatrol they perk up like crazy...No shitting. Not a clue why. Even my hydro buddies love it and cant explain it... I like to do it
But with all the switch over and etc I hadn't root drenched in a bit. The sprayer shit the bed so I had to get a new one. This one should help greatly too.. Even easier to use. They won't last now...

I spent the weekend working on Veg. a bunch of new clones.. Some strains I had in big veg and had forgotten to clone them.. Could have been bad...A show i watched they made the same mistake and lost a strain so I checked my own stuff.. almost did the same ..lol Uppoted a few... Set forth some future plans. Organized... Reworked some fan stuff for the new set up.... Been busy... I actually have a counter top work area now and a separate veg/flower rooms... Quite worker friendly now...

We sure are way overdue hooking up... Let me make a note of it and I'll see what I can set up for clones etc on new stuff... We'll put something on the schedule to hook up very soon!

But, I had a lot of time on my hands as I was working from home a lot to be with my son. Now, I don't have the time, in my mind, to give my journals what people deserve. I know those of you that continue to give yourselves to your journals are as busy or maybe more busy than I am. Kind of makes me feel like a dick.

Bad luck on the mover. I have two of the same companies mover. Had them for years with zero problems.
I bought the cheap rebuild kits to keep on hand but haven't needed them yet.

I have tell you how much I respect those of you that put a lot of time and thought into your posts. I remember when I first started a journal on here. I did the same. Very well said Noob and thank you for saying what has been on my mind since I came here a few months ago.
I cannot seem to put a good steady informative journal together like you guys do. I learn so much from those of you that seem to have the knack for it. I just don't know how to put my thoughts and whatever knowledge I have down. There is a step that I am missing. I seem to be able to grow fairly well. I know how to take a picture. But when I go out to garden I go into a zone like I am in a hurry to do everything before I forget........... I dunno where I am going with this. I guess I didn't put a lot of thought into it
But I wanted to say to FE and even you Noob when I was following along in your journal B.B.- Before Brix- i appreciate the way you guy put it all together for guys like me to learn from and drool over.
