Papay/Jungle Wreck and "living dead"

Hey LN, I just checked out Crystal Springs web site and it says that pH in Distilled Water is 5-7. I guess it varies from batch to batch.

De-ionized distilled water should be 7.0 but otherwise yeah, you taught me something (and a bit of googling, but you put the bug in my brain) :)

Maybe I am wrong or the pH color card kit that I have been using is a piece of shit like my Burpee, imagine that... two of my pH testers are in cahoots.

If that's so just be damn sure you don't let them breed! The color card kit should get you close enough that you can tell if your Burpee is very far off.

I need to check on that hydrated lyme tomorrow. I am going to a bigger town tomorrow so I'll hit a greenhouse or two on the way back. Thanks again for the info.:thanks:

Be vewy vewy careful with that hydrated lime...you saw what happened with the tiny bit I used in my soil mix the first time around in my journal lol. A teeny tiny amount goes a LOOOONG way. To be sure you don't waste any water I would start with 1/2 teaspoon per gallon and add in 1/2 tsp increments...that's me though. Honestly, I wouldn't even mess with it again. The potential for major pH swings with it are too high with this kind of crop. If you already have the pH Up and Down just use them until you get a chance to transplant or start new seeds. At that point mix your dolomite lime in with your soil before you plant anything and you should be golden :bong:

High siscokid those close up pics are very kewl!!! keep it up buddy.

Thanks for stopping in and for the nice comment, I take close ups cause to see the big picture would be dissapointing.... I think I may score an eigth at best off of both these plants. Next time I hope to have a better grow.
Very nice shots and plants. Great job again.

Hey Sonzor, thanks... So, when is the plant of the month and grower of the month voting begin? I looked but can't find it.

:slide:Thanks Sonzor, you have 2 votes now!:slide:

Thanks siscokid, your vote and the kind words are much appreciated. Not sure I deserve to be up there with a lot of those names but the kind words and your vote are much appreciated.

those buds look as potent as ever!
Thanks Crimson, I don't know how I missed your post yesterday but I sure hope they are potent. Thanks again for stoping in.

Oh, go on. You sure as hell deserve it. Thats just my opinion.

Well, I couldn't bare to watch Maggie dry up and not take clones from her. All of the fan leafs and some of the newer ones were drying up and so before all of my cloning material dried up I took 6 of them and now I am just hopeing that I have a few or all to keep the strain alive.

I used the rapitest on Maggies' soil and it looks light green which means Neutral. I need a real pH tester for sure now. All of these pH test kits are giving me different results, so I'll look on ebay tonight for an inexpensive one.

here is Maggie after her hair cut

Just popin in, everything looks undercontrol.Good luck with your little ladies.

Hey got some nice tric shots....cool...that snap should heal up....i super croped one plant in flower room cause it was too tall for me and less than a week it has healed in those spots. Some plant bend easier than others (strain) Green mojo your way :Rasta:
Yeah super cropped, thats what I meant. I wish I had the height problem but I still have an extra 3' 11" to use up... Thanks for the positive vibes brother, right back to ya.

Hey Mota, thanks for popping in man, Well I guess I can't do more now to help the situation of the pH, but next grow I will be on top of all these important factors. You guys are a great inspiration.

Talk about a low-pro-gro, very nice! I like the flowers!
Thanks DT09, Your grow is very impressive, I'll be doing my rounds tonight. Have the Comp. to myself now.

Ok troop I'm confused about the flowering period, I was trying to calculate the time I had left for Marie and Dora, do I start counting down the eight weeks from when they were in 12/12 or from the first sign of flower which was around the begining of July, Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong but I think its from the first sign of flowers. Good luck

I look at my buds and when the pistil still produces thricomes and they are not turn all red and often still growing. I like to harvest when my pistil is about 65% red and cover with thricomes. I try to follow the 8-week rules after the beginning of flowering and I believe that I cut them to early. There is website with all the info you need to know about when to pick up the buds just google.

If I'm not mistaken the pistil color is not a very accurate way to know when to harvest and it all boils down to trichome color (cloudy or amber). I suppose if you've been growing the same strain with clones and you know that when your pistils are 65% red that the trichomes are where you want them it's a different story. The pistils should always be covered with trichomes, mine had them from day 1 (well, I took pics on day 3 and it had trichs then).

sisco, sorry can't help ya...I thought it was from the day you switched to 12/12 but not positive either lol.

Thanks Sonzor, I think that would make the most sense.

good question i would like to know that as well
Thanks for stopping in WeedRyder, I hope its from first sign of flower because that would give my lil ones become lil bigger ones, you know?

Thanks my man, I'll be on the search engine tonight. Any chance you can pass a good recipe that won't eat up all of my yield?

No problem LIL N, I have a feeling its from first sign of flower or else I would be harvesting on the 17th or so... but I would rather it be Sept. 5 or so which is 8 weeks from my first sign.

Thanks again to all of you for trying to help this humble lil grow, I do have one new happening, I was aerating my soil around the base of Marie and sort of accidentally:rollit:cut a lil bud off and I sort of accidentally put it in my toaster oven and then I accidentally smoked it too. Oh my Lord! That was sure worth the long wait. I can't really taste any Papaya but it was sort of chemically tasting, I guess like Ammonia. But after that little sample I started cleaning out the freezer and re-organizing it and then I did some yard work and some more cleaning and some painting too! The wife says she can't wait till I harvest if this is gonna be a habit after smoking. LOL, anyways I took some pics. of the buds today so I can see whats happening. here is the results so far.
