I pH adjust the water that I place seeds into to germiante for 30-36 hours or until they have tap roots. I use tap water currently and pH adjust my water to pH 5.8 so that the seeds may uptake some minerals from the water.

Re: New City Grower

Question Four:

Is it better to use hard water or

water that has been softened (with salt) on plants,

assuming that the pH is good?

If one or both is harmful, why?

Re: New City Grower

#4 I'm going to go with hard water. Salt around the roots withdraws moisture from the water and would kill the plants, no? I've always used hard water and had zero growing issues.
