After an 18 hour dip in the cup we have 2 tap roots starting to show:)

I put them in the paper towel and put them in a closet hopefully by tomorrow we will have roots long enough to plant. I have used this method everytime I germinate seeds with an almost 100% success rate

It's an Hlg 260 it's a bit of a dyi project and hope to build it tonight. It will replace the hlg 135 that is in my tent now with my cmh. It is supposed to cover a 2x4 area while the 135 covers a 2x2 so I will get alot more even coverage in the tent with the cmh, It's also 3000k so will be better spectrum for flower as the 135 was 4000k. The 135 will be moved into the 3x3 tent to veg out the Gorilla Zkittlez once they are big enough to handle the light. will follow up with pics after I put the light together.

Thanks prof for the b day wishes. Ya I was happy to see those roots starting to come out real excited to run another Barney's strain yours looked awsome I bet It smells great and will be an delicious smoke. My wife has an invested interest in the gift more light for me is more bud for her

Os tent update

We are starting week 5 and things are moving along nicely the buds are filling out more and more. When I open the tent I get a real nice smell kind of a sweet scent with a bit of skunk. A few of the pistols are starting to turn orange and they are really starting to put on the frost.I moved the girls around a little and swapped a few of their positions in the tent to give some of them a little better light that had slightly smaller buds then a couple of the other one's. One of the plants is a bit taller then the rest of them and kinda struggling to find a good spot for her I may pull down a couple of her branches to get things a little more even.

Gorilla Zkittlez update

After a 24hrs in the paper towel they all have tap roots showing :cheer:

I'm going to leave them in the paper towel overnight and check them in the morning if the roots are a little longer I'm going to put them into 4 inch pots with pro mix and get this party started:party:

Woke up this morning and checked on my seeds and we had roots long enough to plant
20190719_063347.jpg

I put the seeds into my 4inch pots
20190719_063841.jpg

I sprayed the top to the soil and put them in my humidity dome and got them under my t5 light

Let's see who comes up first

Gorilla Zkittlez update

When I got up this morning I ran down stairs to check on the pots and see if any of them have started to break the surface and we are in luck
20190720_082114.jpg

Kinda hard to see in the pic but in the center right beside the big piece of perlite on of them is above the soil. Nothing from the other one's but hopefully later today. This is my second go at a Barney's strain and I gotta say I'm impressed with how quickly they germinate get going with their growth above the soil

BF's OS was quick to sprout for me and she has been a strong grower from the start. They do seem to provide a good quality seed for planting.

Ya I have loved both of the b.f strains I have so far. I wanted to mention that when I saw you post in the show your Barney's strain thread and after checking out your journal yours is looking great and I'm sure you are going to really enjoy growing it

Last Saturday I harvested the blue cookies. She was looking good with a bit of a fade going on and about 20% amber thricomes. She had some nice frosty nugs and had an awsome smell of blueberries. Took about 2 hours to harvest her I wet trim all the buds then put them on my drying rack that I hang in my tent my temps were about 66 degrees and the humidity was around 57%. As of last night they felt crispy on the outside and felt like they were dry.

I got some of these mini hydrometer to put in the jars as recommend from some members on this site as I had some issues with my last harvest and I lost some bud to mold
20190720_082430.jpg

My understanding is you want the humidity to hold at 62% and if it rises to quickly it is not dry enough. When I put them in the jar last night the humidity started at 55% then rose to 70% in about 3 hrs. I left them overnight and in the morning they were at 73%. I opened the jars for half an hour then put the lids back on the jars and the humidity shot back up to 73% very quickly so to me that means they are still to wet and put them back on the dry rack. Is that the right thing to do? I'm just paranoid from the last time. Hey @Weaselcracker can you weigh in you really helped me out on another thread about curing. Or anyone else who has experience with this.

I should also mention that I got boveda 62 packs as well for the first time recently what's the best approach to use them? Put them in the jar as soon as the bud comes out of the drying rack or do the cure with the hydrometers until my humidity is steady at 62% or less then put them in to maintain the humidity in the jars. Any comments would be greatly appreciated

What do you think any opinions would be appreciated
I did a pc last grow and loved the smoke but the GZ would be my go to. They grow so well and want to produce. My pc did quad well but was nowhere near the Gz for production.

Quick update

Getting the snips and the dry rack ready these ladies are getting the chop in 3 days. Had a look with my scope tonight 10-15 % Amber's smells great in there.

The blue cookies is starting to open up a little from the weight of the buds. They are not big but quite dense and super frosty I think it will be my favorite smoke.

The white banner grew some nice big buds with very few leaves will be a treat to trim even the lower stuff is of a decent size. lots of orange hairs on her, Its been fox tailing I have the light zip tied to the top of the tent to get it as high as I can but even that was to close

just an observation on the blueberry but she looks like she has been on way too much N. Thick leaves , v dark green , and slow stunted growth. My Hulkberry looked just the same and yielded way lower than she should have yet the Clone i have now is totally different in every way it seems. She is fed on a much lower coco feed than the multi strain rdwc universal feed that i had to use for her mother. She was fed too much when should have had a lower ppm . just an observation and thought as to why she may be smaller ect...
All looking amazing in there though. only just catching up now.

Os clone update

They are starting to get some new growth which is exciting, I kinda underestimated how long it would take to see some new growth since this is my first successful clone attempt 3 weeks to get roots and a couple of more weeks for them to start growing again.

I'm still dealing with thrips on them they seem to be only effecting 2 of them at this point. I sprayed all the plants last night with Doktor Doom plant spray as recommend by the grow shop it's a contact spray and was told to repeat spraying every 2 to 3 days. I also learned that thrips lay their eggs in the soil and then the young one come out of the soil and onto the plants , the grow shop recommend using nematodes a beneficial microscopic worm that eats the larvae in the soil but they are quite pricey. I may try diatomaceous earth as a cheaper option. What do you guys think is the best approach to get rid of these thrips?

Few pics of the clones you can see thrip damage on a few of the leaves

With all that being said I decided not to risk bringing them into my indoor garden but will leave them outside for the summer and see what they can do
good call mate. best not risk it.

Quick update this morning before I head to work.
I dropped 4 Gorilla Zkittlez seeds in a cup of water last night, when I got up this morning they had sunk to the bottom of the cup. If they are anything like the Os seeds they will have taproots when I get home today

I'm really looking forward to the Gz I've always wanted to try a gorilla glue strain. After seeing yours and prof's It makes me really excited to the potential of what they could do. I was going to try some different training with her and yours is a perfect example of what I would like to achieve with her.

Exactly what I was thinking I have enough things to deal with I my garden and my personal life with 2 little girls I don't need to add anymore challenges lol

I think you are right GG. I had alot of challenges with the blueberry starting with an overwatering issue early on in veg . I was growing with led for the first time and In cold weather could not get things warm enough and she took a long time to go through water. She was sensitive to nutes but took me awhile to realize what was going on and was feeding her what the other plant was getting. All in all I'm pretty happy with the bud I got off her but know It could have definitely been better. There is never a dull moment with this hobby and I learn things every day thanks to the great members on this site

Thankyou for saying. The #1 looks like a great pheno of the strain too. wish i had a way to clone her but too much planned for my next run and nowhere for a mom to wait her turn. Two other Three are doing good too. Cant fault their rapid recovery and how well they quadlined. I can only imagine how big the #1 could have gotten. I think if you have space then a couple of topping could creare a big Gorilla. Like you ,i love the strain N. gritty and noq with a colourful array and flavours. Bring in those girls
