Hey Mmmmick, great job as usual. Have a question for you. Going to do a 12/12 from seed. I want to do some breeding to get additional seeds. Is it ok to breed brother and sister? Will they have birth defects? Just a thought

Thank you my friend. I'm afraid I can't help in the slightest when it comes to breeding, although I do expect to try my hand at it some day. I'd suggest The Butcher as a great source of breeding info.

I've never considered the ramifications of cross breeding closely related plants. I would guess it's not a major issue but have no real clue.

Not much to update. the remaining plants are slllloooowwwlllyyy getting more mature but not much change in appearance. Other than the remaining WW which is exploding into a fluffy batch of buds that smell better than the first 2 widows. I'll try to get a couple of pics up later on.

Hi wct, yeah I'm looking for amber on the Mangos, in particular. I cut the two extra Mangos and the first two WW's at different percentages of cloudy trichs so that I could compare the difference. Just trying to get a handle on how I like them best.

Hi OMM. Yeah a bit of a break for a few days. Occasional bouts of depression cause me to sort of shut down now and then but I always get over it. Can't even say why they happen. I've been logged in a dozen times lately but I have trouble responding to messages when in that mindset so I usually wait until it passes. No worries, these episodes aren't severe enough to be dangerous to me or anyone else, they just cause me to become somewhat non functional. I can't/won't tolerate prescription meds for this issue because they impact life more than the condition they are supposed to treat. I do appreciate your concern but no need to worry.

You can probably find Serenade, which is said to be the same as Bud Rot Stop. It's available over the counter in at least some states.

I feel you on the depression issue. My chronic back and neck pain causes that sometimes. Sometimes I'll go several "good" days in a row and feel great. Sometimes I have a streak of "bad" days. Between lack of sleep and constant pain, I get very short tempered and depressed. Just ask my wife (lucky she's put up with all my shit).

But as you said, it always passes. I find it helps speed up the process to smoke an extra bowl and force myself to go out and do something (go for a walk, run errands with the wife, or take up a new hobby like indoor gardening LOL).

Anyhow, glad you're feeling better.

Hi JG, sorry to hear that you have to deal with depression on top of the back/neck issues. I have chronic back pain but it's not a catalyst for my depression, or at least not a major component.

But you're correct when you say an extra bowl helps. I like something with a little couchlock for the pain days but, if I'm feeling down for whatever reason, some sativas have an "up" sort of high that makes a lot of difference. It as if the smoke is the motivator and once I get busy the depression often tends to fade. Wonderful plant, this cannabis.

Before this condition developed I had no idea just how deeply depression could affect a person and every aspect of their lives.

Here's hoping your new grow turns out the primo meds you are seeking.

Waiting on amber in the Mangos. Trichs are mostly cloudy but only a few amber so far. The remaining White Widow has turned into some kind of fluffy mess so I'll concentrate on the mangos but leave the WW under the scrog until the mangos finish. I will use the Widow for edibles. I had hoped it would finish well because it was the largest of the three widows but it also was most deeply affected by the reveg problem and it didn't seem to like the heat much either. I may move it to the temporary cabinet that the extra mangos were in after these finish.
The Mangos are gaining a bit of weight but the buds aren't as thick as the two extra Mangos were. The extras didn't reveg as they were under a different led and hadn't been set to 13/11 lighting sched. I still believe 13/11 is worth doing but it's obviously very important that the buds are all set before adding the extra hour of "on" time.

I'm considering going to 11 on 13 off to see if that will help these girls amber up.

And I want to see what the Mangos are like with some amber, so no choice but to let them do their thing. Once the mangos finish I can put the widow in the corner I had the extra mangos in since I haven't torn down the temporary cabinet I built there.

Lights out at the moment but I can get some closeups in a couple of hours.

The extra hours at work are always useful this time of year. Drop in when you can, no pressure here. I've put in plenty of long days so I know how fast the time off gets used up. Always good to see you when you get the chance.
