Mmmmick 288W LED Development SCROG White Widow

Hi weed, yeah I'm done with Attitude for a while. They came through but it took 9 months. I've seen some stuff from Serious Seeds that looked pretty tempting. I've got enough seeds to keep me going for a while, but I'm with you. Clones are the way to go. I hope to find a WW and a Mango to keep as mums out of the phenos I have on hand now. Not many sources locally for clones so it's up to me to keep the good ones on hand.

You know me too well weedtastic, I'll still have a few plants on the go. And it may not be long before I've got a good set of clones to work with. Hell I may go nuts in a week and not be able to keep from doing an orphan grow with 4 strains or so, lol.

Even with the issues these plants encountered they've taught me a lot and I do intend to do another 3x3 or maybe 2x2 grow of the widows and mangos together. Even if it's just to prove to myself that they can be better producers.
You were growing great plants when I got here but I know the tweaks you've added to your grow up the ante every round. I've definitely got a much better idea than I had with the first round or two, although I would like to be able to anticipate issues before they arise. That'll come with more experience. I just wish I had your green thumbs to speed up the process. :)

You've had a lot to do with any success I may have and I appreciate all the help and pointers you've passed my way. Not to mention all those great looking plants you've shared with us all.:cheer::)

Mr Nice has a Medicine Man coming soon. The description says thc levels are almost toxic. Sounds like one I want.

"Mr Nice Seeds Medicine Man is a proven medical marvel for those in need of high levels of the most active ingredient, THC. Almost toxic at times, so handle with care: don’t abuse the Medicine Man. It has won many awards since its introduction as the White Rhino in the late 90’s. Mr Nice Seeds Medicine Man has an incredible strong genetic heritage stemming from a Brazilian sativa/South Indian hybrid combined with a prodigious-yield Afghani.
It is a member of the White Widow family and a proven champion for medicinal users. Those who prefer indoors can expect an incredibly resinous and compact Indica appearance from this plant. It's cannabis seeds has an expected flowering time of 56 to 60 days. Outdoor growers in the northern hemisphere can expect harvest around October and those in the southern hemisphere by May"

hi mate.....you flatter me lol.....and dont give yourself enough credit lol.......and there you go again the mediciene man report is the most ive read.......now more looking forward to growing this than before.....lol.......antisibateing wot a plant is gonna want ....need......comes with experience......and even then all these different phenos throw us lol........down sizing grows ? is that wot your saying ?.......fewer equalls more yeild ?...under your lights ?.........you mentioned two different sizes ? why ?.........forever inquisitive.........but you always start the thought provokeing thoughts......least i think so lol..........be lucky mate......weedtastic

You earned the props weedtastic, no question in my mind.:cheer:

Yeah the Medicine Man sounds wicked. Mr Nice must have the original of the White Rhino but not the rights to the name? I know his Black Widow is the original White Widow, could be the same deal with the Medicine Man.

As long as I can react properly when needed I can wait for the next stage, knowing in advance. In the meantime, practise, practise, practise, heheh.

I had 12 plants in flower at one time. I don't like to keep them in the extra cab I built in the corner because it has bad air movement. So I want to concentrate on fewer plants, bigger yields for a while at least, using the 288w led.
I had 2 phenos in both the widow and the mango. One smaller plant along with 2 larger in each strain. I've read that the smaller phenos are often more potent so I'm planning to keep both going until I get a chance to do a real good smoke test on each type. I'll opt for the smaller pheno as mum for each strain if it seems more potent. I don't need a lot of quantity but the quality is the key.
It'll be fun doing the testing even if I can't decide.:tokin:

reverse the first bracket.keep all brackets, quotes etc.

There's an FAQ somewhere but I don't remember where, sorry.

Ok now I know I'm buzzing but did I just answer your question while you had your sig fixed already or did you just do it? lol

You're welcome NastyAce. It helps if it's easy to find. A little here right now but I'll pop in for a look tomorrow.

legalize!!:cheer:

edit: A couple more minutes won't hurt, be right over.

Hi weedtastic Are all your grows over? I lost the links!
Mmmmick said you know of some good things to help with bud rot! I would like to hear about them if possible. Had bud rot in two straight grows and would love to know how to prevent it.

Thanks Mate! :grinjoint:

hi mate........im a little confused as i thought you were growing out doors......if your having trouble with bud rot out doors i wud not know wot to do ?........if the bud rot is in an indoor grow......you will need better ventillation..........i bought a dehumidifier for my room........it was expensive £100.......but it works very very well.........my humidity never gets past normal on my gauge.....always dry/normal...which is great.......this dehumidifier takes out 4 litres of water per 12 hours then its full and switches itself off.....just in time for me to switch my lights back on and empty it.......if you wud like to see a pic of it shout up and ill post you one.........hope this helps.......be lucky weedtastic....edit ive just found this..........but don t know if it works....here goes Retired Two

High fastfor20.

The best and least harmful way to treat this is with good old baking soda. Stir baking soda into water until it won't dissolve any more, a saturated sol'n, put the liquid in a sprayer and soak 'em down good. The baking soda will change the leave's surface to pH 7 and the mold can't grow.

I double checked my grow bible and that's what Jorge recommends. Spray just after lights out so you don't get foliar spots. Leave the dried soda on the leaves to prevent new growth.

Damn nice plants by the way.

Hope that helped

Mate Thank you! That really helps. Next grow I will know what to do!
Thanks for the comment on my girls too! OMM

Hi weedtastic. I suggested OMM ask you about BudRotStop because I thought it might work as prevention on his outdoor plants when the colas are thick. You used it on bud rot a couple of grows back and I thought it worked well. Maybe not useful in an outdoor grow as the sun might kill off the active bacteria before it can do it's job. Anything on the label that advises against outdoor use?

Baking soda works for PM but I would not mix it anywhere near as strong as suggested above. I've used 1 teaspoon to a gallon of water. If this method is used it's simple enough to check PH as the solution is created and stop when the PH is 7 or higher.

Skim milk is excellent for controlling PM, no danger to the plant and will foliar feed calcium while controlling PM. 1 part skim milk 4 parts water.

I don't know that baking soda or skim milk are effective against bud rot just PM.

I know it's just a marketing thing, but I hate because it plays right to the cannabis Nazis' agenda. "Almost toxic" is at the very least misleading. And it's crap like this that I have to prove wrong to my anti-cannabis friends and family.

With any drug (a term that refers to alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and pharmaceuticals), what we look at is ED (Effective Dose) and LD (Lethal Dose) in a ratio. The smaller the ratio, the closer the dose levels are. A smaller ratio means the greater chance of overdose.

For comparison here are some ratios (Gable, R.S. (2004). "Comparison of acute lethal toxicity of commonly abused psychoactive substances"):
Alcohol = 10:1
Cocaine = 15:1
Heroin = 6:1
Cannabis = 1,000:1

It is estimated (from studies done with rats) that a human would need to consume approximately 42mg per kg of body weight in a 14-minute period. For the average human, that means smoking about 680kg (1500 pounds) of 15% THC marijuana in 14 minutes. Even if you were smoking pure THC it would take an estimated 102kg (225 pounds). Try smoking 200+ pounds of anything in 14 minutes and you're gonna die of asphyxiation first!

The bottom line is THC overdose is pretty much impossible.

Sorry to derail, just a pet peeve of mine.

No problem JohnGalt. It was a poor choice of words on the part of the writer but he obviously was trying to stress the potency. Opponents would target the description as supporting their beliefs.

Hi NastyAce, lots of great info here on 420.

Here's a tidbit you can learn from. Another screwup on my part.

I discovered that my air exhaust and intake are forming almost a closed loop. Smell isn't near as strong as it should be. And trichs aren't as developed either. Not many on the leaves.

I finally got a look at a grow that a friend is doing, using the same strain of mango's under a combined led total of around 250w and his plants are a little larger and smell a lot stronger. Trichs are way more developed also. I thought my room smelled quite strong but nothing like his. However the major difference is the feel of the plants. My buds and some leaves feel stiff, like over nuted with synthetic ferts or salts(almost like a plastic plant). He is in promix also and using Botanicare products same as I am.

I think it's mainly an airflow issue, possibly made worse by the use of baking soda for ph adjustment. I only use 1/8th or less of a teaspoon and the plants have been flushed 4 times in total, but I've had the same issue with the feel of the plants in every grow and haven't used baking soda in them all. I'm only giving them water now, with an occasional tea. I'll switch to PH up for the next grow, whenever that may be. When dried (5 days in a box) the buds retain a spongy density and they retain their shape. They don't quick dry, it's a gradual process. In the box they become softer, until close to dry. I've had denser buds but this set of plants had 5 weeks of high flowering temps so they are looser in structure.(not to mention the reveg issue) Jarred buds have more smell than previous efforts but I don't think they are anywhere near their potential.

So, long story but I got back to my grow room after checking his and put smoke through the air system and a significant amount of smoke was being recirculated. I should have done the smoke thing in the beginning but there seemed to be lots of air coming in the intake so I figured it was good.

I made a few changes to the air intake and exhaust so that they are completely separate, absolutely no recirculation taking place. Maybe that'll help with the rest of these plants, they've probably only got a couple of weeks left if that.

Before attempting to grow mj I've never felt like a complete fooking dummy, but these plants seem to be able to bring out the stupid in me. Every screwup has seemed so obvious once discovered that I've been kicking my own butt for not seeing them in advance. Sometimes I almost wish I wasn't too stubborn to quit.:smokin:

yea i did a smoke test before i put the plants in and one right after it looked so cool and uniform it was cool (was blazed off some sour diesel each time). the way i have the fans the plants get new are at all times the air runs a cool looking stream line look sort of a crooked S shape from my intake to the exhaust with no swirls anywhere but a small spot above my fixture. :peace:
