Life In The Day Of A Coco Grower

Thank you buddy I will get it done today, quick question though, can you see first set of nodes? Would you consider using them or from them? I have had a couple of plants that's all that have never actually produced them.

I usually top between the third and fourth nodes, or the fourth and fifth nodes. I usually prune away any branches coming from the first node, for more ground clearance. If the seedling is leggy, I'll bury the first node, as roots will come from it, even if I've taken the branches. There's no reason you couldn't use branches coming from the first node. I just like the increased ground clearance.

I hurried these three as they were quite leggy due to me being occupied else where not paying attention, yeah I will too at the 4th today and if only one doesn't produce lower branches that can be the middle one.

All ready for making some edibles as smoking just isn't cutting it for me anyway, so I hope to make about 300 gummy bears, I'm using this site calculator on how to make them so I'm half way there, my big problem is knowing how much infused coconut oil to put to 20g of bud?

So I have just topped them and turned lights of for 6 hours, hopefully we see some good vehicle growth in the next week or two.

Top of the coco is starting to dry partially so I will keep the top moist but the base is still really heavy so I'm not over doing them just in case I run into problems.

Your plants in coco are at the point they need to be watered to run off.

I have some of those plant bends but if I'm totally honest the last time I used them they were okay but they weren't nothing to shout at home about as they only really work on certain size branches, small ones don't work at all, I was thinking of those paper clip style clamps?

So today they got a good feed, front one got 3L the others got two, run off was from the first into the other two.

So, call me stupid but I only work with numbers in life, without numbers nothing's made up, so I thought of a new way off training and flowering.

it's said that LED give great light penetration towards the lower of the plant compared to HPS, is that right in me thinking?

So each plant would only have 60*40cm total of 60*120cm of canopy, In order to get anywhere close to 25oz that's a little over 700g which is a big amount for this area, so I have no idea where to start or even 560g which would be 20oz, that would be around 40 bud sites to each area weighing 5g each bud/cola, I don't even know if it's even possible, but I'm willing to give it some real thought and start training if people think it's something that could work.

Ir entirely depends on the LEDs. I use an DIY eight COB array in my 60 X 120cm tent. The COBs are on 30cm centers. That works really well in flower. The six COB manufactured unit did very poorly in comparison, and harvest from the plants closest to the tent walls was 40% less than those directly under the light. The COBs in that light were all contained in a 15 X 20 cm area. The DIY light produced more than double the harvest the manufactured unit did.

You need a light with close spaced LEDs to drive the light deep into the canopy. You need the LEDs or COBs spread over the entire canopy for the best results. The Mars Hydro SP series are good for flowering, but I'd space them 30 - 45cm apart rather than the 60cm recommended by Mars.

I was looking at two sp 250's or one 4 cob timber lights but I'm one of those where I need to think a lot as the price isn't something you pull from the sides of the couch.

These plants are looking great after there watering yesterday, nice growth from the bottom and the new stems at the top are coming through nice, don't know what to do about those leaves shadowing the lower stems though, maybe cut the last two node leabes?

Thanks bud yeah I will just work with what growth I eventually get but I have for sure for 6 main stems on each to train and get other main stems from them but at the moment there's only one plant that's taking a little extra time catching up so not too bad.

By looking at them it looks like only one looks a little sativa dominant it's the one without no top nodes growing much, other two look like indica dominant or showing a hybrid style leaf.

Still looking and thinking about different training, I think within the next 2 weeks I will be tying branches down but without knowing which way of training it will end up getting a little confusing and I'm a person that needs to know what's going on in advance .

Little bit of leaf curl on two of them that looks like Nitrogen toxicity but I'm not overly worried as next time they can have 500ppm rather than 650, root growth is coming though the bottom nicely too, cocos still holding a lot of moisture so no daily feeds as of yet.

I have 30 to 40 days left of veg from today so I do hope they are ready by that time.

I made some gummy bears, I then attempted to make more and lost the remaining of my oil because the mix started cuddling so i lost a very valuable half a cup of oil :(, 20g of bud created 200g of Coconut oil which this batch had nearly 90g in and I can't feel no affect 3h on.

Finally bought a tent, I ended up with a Homebox R120 which is a 1.2*0.9*1.8 so it's 30cm wider, I then plan on using 2 250w hps lights then eventually run 2 sp250's or cob lighting but that little extra space is better don't you think :).

Congrats on the new tent! :thumb:

so just a little update on them, medium is still soaking but the plants are still growing well, nice thick main stem and nice vibrant new leaves coming through a little yellow but I imagine that's something to do with the genetics or it's trying to tell me something maybe but over time we shall see.
