Let's grow some Weed!

have you cloned a flowering plant before? I've seen it done... but with unusual results. The ones I've seen seem to come up like bushes almost... I don't think they yield much pot, but I dunno if its different with yours

To be honest with you it seems to have stumped the growing process... It is only now starting to get leaves and they are around the bud.

It can take a bit longer for the clones to get going but you can get some nice bushes with many close internodes like that. If I want to take clones, I take them when I clear out the area underneath my ScrOG screen and that happens in early flower up through the first couple of weeks.

Got some pics of them in my Wick Cloner thread. Check 'em out!

Wick Cloner: simple, cheap and effective

Munkie, Thanks so much for your input. Cloning has proven to be more difficult than I had imagined and obviously I need to refine my technique so that I can increase my success percentage. I will certainly read over your cloning thread so that I can try to finger why I am having difficulties.
Reps ++ to you brother and thanks for your help!

Then that is the direction I wish to head into next...
I want to grow large plants with gigantic buds..... :smokin:

That's what I like to hear... "LARGE PLANTS WITH GIGANTIC BUDS"... LOL... Get a bunch of 5 gal buckets and a 55 gallon drum some hose and fittings and a pump to push thru so they flow as well as bubble and you don't have to check each one regularly then flipping grow out man... :) Got me drueling over my own Idea... LOL...

I tried once with like 8 and in 4 weeks they weren't much bigger but had a hell of a root system... it stumped the plant but not the roots... LOL. I just tossed em... I think they were too far into flowering.

I hear that is how long it takes blooming clones to switch back to veg...you tossed them right before they would of taken off maybe. :grinjoint:

Did you at least smoke them? :roorrip:

:peace:

No... I was trying to save the strain but I was sick of having them in my cloner... LOL... All the other clones would take off within two weeks and block their light I went through two batchs of clones(cloning for fellow growers) where they would have their light blocked and they wouldn't look too good so I tossed them when I put in my third batch...

Hey JOE, where you goin with that Joint in your hand????????
Hey Joe! Ok so I can't sing LOL>

I'm a first time grower and using soil. Grownin some Northern Lights. I'm in my 8th week of Flowering I think. Got to make a journal. They will be done before I do tho. I'm a MAJOR procrastinator

I dragged my sorry ass butt for the longest time before I started my journal. I just didn't think that I had anything interesting to say... Go ahead and take the plunge...

I will be posting some new pics of my new crop that has just gotten underway!!!! WEeeeeeeee Bigger! and Better! Grow this time... LOL!)

I will be unfolding the new info in the next few days so everybody get ready!!!

My Sativa clone that's really not doing so well and a NEW SEED START!
This is one of several new seed starts that are now underway!

I am trying to crack a few new seeds starts in my heated germination station

Hey bro, is that a 2700k bulb they are under? If so, try a whiter light, like a 6500k. They seem to like it much better at that stage. That will make them stretch and produce quicker. Just wanna see ya have some big bushy plants to contend with...lol.

Yep! There 2700K bulbs... I have read that Home Depot carries the 6500K but I have yet to find them there. Perhaps I need to find another source for the brighter bulbs. Anybody know who else may stock them?

I am such a squirrel that I still have the boxes for the bulbs!

My biggest issue is heat in my basement... I have just redirected my Dryer Vent via a Deflecto kit so that the dryer exhaust will heat up the basement when in use. Every little bit helps in the winter months besides that it adds some much needed humidity down there as well.

IMO the girls would really prefer it to be a tad bit warmer down there.

If there is a Menards near you they have the best selection of CFLs I have seen. They don't have the 300w (68w) like yours but have 200w (42w) 2800lumen in 6500k and 2700k for bout $8. And have the large 250w(85w) 5700lumen in both spectrums for bout $35 The large ones come with mogul base (large) and standard base. By base I mean socket, where they screw in. :peace:

I have 5 or 6 100 watt CFL's hanging as well. I will have to check the package to see if they are 2700K or 6500K. I suspect they are 2700K because I can touch them.

I can touch all my CFLs, some run hotter tho of course. In the 6500k spectrum, the 23w (100w) seem to be hotter than my bigger ones. Maybe it's the increased surface area allows more heat to escape before it builds up,that's purely speculation tho. IMO The 42w (200w) is the best value, you can get 2 for about $16 and have 5600lumens vs. about the same price for your 68w (300w) at 4200lu and $35 for a large 85w (250w) with 5700lu. Any one feel free to correct me as this is only opinion based on my limited experience before I had to quit growing. :peace:

Column heaters are a great help and you can pick up old one's for next to nothing. :peace:

I have been wrestling with that idea for a few weeks now! Thank god Winter is 1/2 over and we can all look forward to Spring. I hate the winter months.
I'm battling summer here mate. It got up to 46c last week. Thats 114.8 in your language. It seems the hottest part of it has passed but now that I've said that we'll probably have another record breaker.
Plants don't seem too bothered.:peace:
