JZ's Shootout: Part Deux

Thanks all for bearing with me while I moved. I have *almost* all my stuff in place, but the important things, my cats, internet and plants are here! :thankyou:

I can't find a standard spigot to get RODI hooked up, but the tap water here, save the pH, is perfect. It's 80ppm of Ca hardness at 9.5pH (!). Everything else looks fine, so just aerating the tapwater and adjusting the pH to 5.6-6 range and adding it in.

As soon as I dig out my camera, more pics are in order; these girls are BEASTS.

I told you they were BEASTS:

And the femmed Brazil Amazonia:

So dense and so stacked these girls were, that leaves were yellowing/rotting underneath. To the salon with you!

Better circulation and the little gal in the middle gets more electric purple love

Jozo,

The yellowing kinda looks like mag def. How's ph been? Are you using ro water?

If you're using ro water, I'm sure you are using a cal mag product too. Has me wondering more, if you have an ro system installed, you dont by chance have a water softener in the house do you?

Well, that was RO, with CalMag, but when they were younger, I had a couple of pH swings that locked out stuff for a bit. I'm back on track with pH 6.0 :MoreNutes: - no softener to deal with now!

Quick update: I took a spill in the work parking lot last night - just a sudden blackout, then kissing asphalt.

Second day in hospital; lots of tests, nothing conclusive. I have a hell of a shiner:

I'm sure my plants are well, mad props to coco and wicking! :thumb:

Duuuuuuuude! I think you took the suggestion to try some "purple strains" the wrong way!!! I hope you heal up quick & more importantly, I hope that's the last unexplained passing out episode! Stay well, Brother!

Taking a header is a lot to go through to cover up the fact you're wearing purple eye-shadow. (kind of looks like Mimi from the old Drew Carey show).

Get better, hoping the tests come back with good results. I had a friend that was a pilot, he did the same thing, they immediately rook him off flight status and made him a Supply Officer. Just a one-time incident with no recurrence, hopefully yours is the same, just a one-time deal.

Thanks for the well wishes, friends - I'm home from the hospital. Came home to find one of my girls has balls. Deciding now whether to let nature run it's course, and harvest a boatload of auto seeds, or nuke the guy.

Last time I had a male in the tent, the gal in there with him had started making seeds, but I yanked both plants in a panic - was chastised thoroughly for losing genetics. I'm leaning towards just letting the girls get pollenated and harvesting stock; AF seeds are NOT cheap!

Any opinions are welcome, but the idea of a hundred or so of these beans might be a nice benefit....

Hi JZ,

I don't know how I missed the last couple days...I've been waiting for you to get moved and back online...

WOW!!! That eye, and the goose egg on your head, all jokes aside, I hope you're ok. Just blacked out huh? That's odd. Let us know how your tests come back.

I yanked my boy as soon as I found him, but if you've got the bug to breed...I'll watch for sure. Maybe I could get a couple from you to try another new strain. :) I've got 1 PE girl in flower right now, and I just planted a second OG, the first was the boy I got rid of. I should have asked you if you wanted him. sorry, just thought of it.

:Namaste:

Yeah,

I think I'm going to let them make babies. Auto flowers are kickass, no muss, no fuss, no 12/12 required. I'll just have to pop 6 at a time and yank any future male suitors!

All my tests came back negative, best they can figure, I had an atypical migraine (I have those fairly often) and it triggered a blackout. Not a single scratch on me except for the faceplanting and a quarter inch abrasion on my left pinky. Go figure, eh?

As far as the actually shootout? I'm pretty convinced, at least in this stage of the grow, that the lights are pretty well equal. Given the price difference, I'd not fret of buying another light from Donnie. The unit is much smaller in size, about half the weight, and seems to be holding its own just fine!

Glad your tests came back negative...sorry about the migraines, that's sucks. So glad you didn't injure anything else, it could have been much worse.

plants look really good btw in those last pics...I think I forgot to mention that earlier

Which plant is the male again? I don't know anything about autoflowers, except what you stated about the 12/12thing. Have not looked into them at all.

take care

:peace:

The male is the one in the left back:

Just 3 days in the hospital, and BOOM, nanners everywhere! Autoflowers are an easy way to get good meds without having to screw with photoperiods. They just flower based on time they're alive, nothing else. You should look up XLR8's Big Bang Auto grow, that was a KILLER plant!

The seed run should be incredible with one guy and 3 females! :high-five:

Hey JZ, you should cut the male way back so it doesn't make tons of pollen. Maybe you can control where it is applied to the other plants so not all the buds are heavily seeded. Just keep removing the male bits till you are ready for pollen, apply the pollen a couple times over a weeks time, then remove the male and let them finish.
