JZ's Shootout: Part Deux

Hey JZ take care of yourself first, it's important. I like your MRI story....same exact thing for me, warm, humming sound and off to sleep.

So, here's a close up of my L5/S1 disk and vertabrae:

L5:S1.jpg

Looks herniated to me. I can tell you, it hurts like a mofo unless I'm medicated to the gills!

So, my long time pal who is the dirt farmer, just dropped by for a visit (he saw my MRI shots and said: "I'll be there with meds tomorrow!") - loved the set up, commented on how healthy the OC+ babies looked and encouraged me with this:

"Rob, it ain't the method, it's the results. If you need meds, and this helps you get that, ignore what the fuck anyone else says. Shit, I thought LEDs were shit until I saw it for myself!"

He's the bomb :circle-of-love:

Hi JZ.

Ooohh they look so happy!!! :goodjob: I glad to see things are going good.

Remind me...what's growing?

So Sorry to here about the back troubles...it can be tough, I know.

Love the pics...keep 'em coming. :cheer:

Those are 'Cate Harrington' a strain from Porno seeds, and their first autoflowering release. Just bought 'em on a whim, and they're a good test for the hydro system, the OC+ and the lights -- you know, making sure I don't butcher more babies!

You say you love the pics? These are from about 15 minutes ago:

Looking pretty damned healthy, I think.

I definately agree...I do, I do...yummy

:yummy:

Those fat little fillies are singing:

gonna be good to you daddy, gonna make you feel real nice
we'll be your only favorite kind, and sparkle up so fine
wear your favorite perfume and be all that you desire
purple light, your water hose, and then we'll light the fire

Trying to make the rounds and catch up on journals and mod duties (I leave for a weekend and have a full inbox and 50+ journal updates to read-yikes!).

Sorry to hear you're in pain. I wish I had a way to send you some meds, but until someone invents a cannabis email attachment app...

Try some of the SNS for the soil bound gnats, it is supposed to work great. I've also heard that a H2O2 drench will mess them up too.

Nice work, JZ! Those are probably the healthiest plants I've seen you grow, so far! :bravo:

If you miss playing in the dirt, you can always build yourself a sandbox! :)

   As a kid, I absolutely loved my sandbox. Practically lived in it in the summer time.

:peace:

JZ -

Man I'm sorry to hear your back is acting up. That image looks vaguely familiar. ;) I'm glad you are getting it looked into. One of my feet bothered me bad for several months before I had it checked out. Thought it was plantar fascia issue originally, turned out it wasn't even a foot thing, but my nerve roots being crushed in my back. I really wish I would have addressed it sooner, but who'd have thunk a painful foot was from a back issue. Good luck and I sure hope they can do something to fix it. Think long and hard before you have surgery. Works for many, but has screwed me up worse - I've had a couple. :(

Coco seems like cool stuff. I'm just now playing with it myself. Take care my friend!

Thanks for the advice, this was a bulging disk from years back when I was a professional brewer, #50 sacks of grain finally did me in.. did 4 or 5 epidural steroid injections and a bunch of PT later, and now it looks like it's herniated. I'm probably looking at surgery, as nothing else has addressed the nerve pain, tingling, numbness and aches....dammit. On the plus, I'll never be questioned about my need for a medical cannabis card!

Piece of advice with coco - use more Cal-Mag. :thumb: Love the stuff so far.

Noticed the same thing with the Cal Mag.

Those steroid injections don't work for diddly on the lower back (at least for me) but I've had good luck with them with upper back.

Get a couple of opinions if you can, and make sure one of them is from someone who doesn't have a surgical interest. A lot of money and major kick-backs to surgeons for doing these, they have a large financial interest in operating on you. We are desparate for relief so we try anything they offer up - but be careful. Discectomy? Ok, but think hard before going with something harder core... Just my opinion, do what's right for you brother - surgery helps many for sure, and I hope you get things fixed up somehow.

I nearly stumble over the the idea of wick-up watering in your set-up.
Then I catch my step, considering osmosis controlled mineral release.
Then I can remember that plants use only tiny amounts of anything besides CO2 and water.
A pinch of lime mixed into the coir would likely serve that extra Ca that you require, but
You would still be needing a bit of Epsom added to water for balance.

Shame on me for second guessing obvious robust growth. With that shame,
I can then proceed to a morning wakey bakey, and fugedaboudit :peace:
