hey jandre hows things friend,

you know these high cbd strains, well regular hemp has very little thc but has very high cbd levels or so i have read, so would it be possible to cross a regular cannabis with hemp and achieve high cbd levels but also have some of the thc in it as well,

when i was cleaning out my mates shed the other day he does a lot of fishing and he had a big bin full of hemp seeds, i soaked a few to see if their viable and they sprouted so planted one and it grew like crazy, fastest plant ive ever seen grow, like bamboo, but very little side branches just stretched for the sky, i killed it off as it is of know use to me but was just checking if fishing hemp was still viable or treated to prevent sprouting,

so i read up online about hemp and it said it has less than 1%thc even as low as 0.1thc but it had very high cbd levels, not sure on % ill try and find the link and see what % it said but it was pretty high, so for the medical users that are after the high cbd and low thc levels i was thinking along the lines of breeding hemp with cannabis, possible cannabis female with male hemp, i know it would take some breeding to get it right but if a person was just after cbd then could they just grow hemp instead of cannabis, that way they got no thc and just the cbd, or if they wanted thc and also high levels of cbd then i was thinking crossing the 2 plants might be of some use at getting higher cbd levels,

or could this be how the breeders are getting high cbd levels, could their be some hemp in the genetic make up of the high cbd strains,
my mate says he used to throw handfuls of hemp in the rivers and lakes when he went fishing, so i guess it would be possible to find hemp growing at random locations due to fisherman using it, my parrot also has hemp seeds in his parrot food, well i think their hemp, looks the same as cannabis seeds but then hemp is the same plant, its not something i want to try and grow, last thing i want is getting caught and knowing i got caught growing hemp which is of know use to me at all,

anyways mate, just thought id throw that out their in case anyone has heard of cbd levels in hemp or even experimented with crossing regular cannabis with hemp to try and achieve high cbd levels,

Let me shed a little light if I may,

Since I have been doing research on producing higher CBD plants I have learned a few things.

When growing hemp from seed to find a plant with a higher then 1% CBD.......you have a 1 in 50 chance

When growing a regular seed you have a 1 in 5000 chance of finding a plant with a higher CBD content of 1% Basically, genes inside the growing seed mutates to produce a higher CBD.

Many DP (including myself) have thought along the lines you have but very few have the time nor space to undertake such a task with the chances being so low.

Many of us are doing CBD breeding with many different strains to get just the right meds to medical patients. My projects at the moment is to produce a plant to help Chrohns patients with pain, stomach related issues and appetite stimulation. Also, I'm working on a high CBD sleeper med. I mean a couple of tokes and you will be pain free and out like a light.

Anymore questions I'd be happy to answer to the best of my ability.

the only reason im getting more interested in high cbd strains is because i suffer with real bad IBS, some days im crippled in pain and cant even get out of bed, or if i get the pains when im out i double over in pain and have to sit down until im in slightly less pain, some days it really cripples me, the amount of times i have had to lie on the floor in pain unable to move is crazy high, so im on painkillers and fibregel drinks to try and ease the pain but i smoke cannabis to help with the pain and help me relax at night so i can get a good nights sleep,
so im wondering if id benefit myself from a strain high in cbd, would this be something that would help with the stomach pains i get, its not something i have thought about but now more and more breeders are breeding high cbd strains im wondering if its worth me trying to get hold of a high cbd strain and give it a try,

ok cool, i have come across the cbd crewe a while back but its only recently i been thinking that high cbd might actually benefit me and help ease the pain, i usually smoke on the night time due to using it to help me sleep a lot easier and in more comfort, but if a high cbd strain will help with the pain then i could use a high cbd strain in the day time to help me through the day, some days im totally fine but other days im in extreme pain, im told their is no cure for IBS the best i can do is have a diet that helps and take fibregel and other supliments daily, im not even sure if their helping because some days im crippled in pain even when i take the meds and drinks,

so thanks for the advice, some reps coming your way, ill have a read and see what kind of % is high for a cbd strain, its pretty new to me the cbd side of cannabis, so far i have crossed several strains and made them stable, ive also made my own fem seeds but without having anywhere to test the strains id struggle to breed any high cbd strains due to my location so my best option would be to buy some high cbd strains and give them a try,
ill have a look around the sites and see what strains are high cbd,

Great info guys! Sorry to post in your journal and take up space jandre, but Ak1 do you know of a strain i could grab as a seed that would be good for ibs or Crohns? I don't have the resources to breed or get a hold of the meds you guys do but I need to start some where.

There is a strain called Funxta's I.E Kush that was bred specifically for Funxta's cousin who has Chrohns. He is a breeder living in California and I think it's Ed Rosenthals book who has his genetics featured in it. They are clone only and I know Funxta's cousin so I have a clone of it. I'm currently crossing this with my high CBD lemon Kush to hopefully get a good med to help with stomach, intestine pain.

Blaze, I would look for strains that specifically help your IBS and then do a search for that strain with high CBD.

If I were you two I'd be looking into making my own RSO specifically from plants with high cbd

thanks for the strain names jandre, i noticed a few high cbd strains on herbies which is where i usually buy as i get next day delivery and has a good free seed offer with any purchase, but if im going to look at buying high cbd strains like the ones you listed then i may have to shop at cbd crew,

im just checking their site now, so a high cbd % is around 8 or 9, is that about the max at the minute, im on cbd site now so ill check if they ship to my country or not,

herbies stock over 30 cbd strains and about 10 strains from cbd crewe, looks like i can get them from herbies head shop, at least i know i can get them from my usual seed bank,
herbies have for got cbd crew yummy fem seeds, 5% thc and 5% cbd
plus cbd crew critical mass with the same 5 n 5% thc/cbd,
1 to 1 ratio is not bad, plus i think these strains will be perfect for a daytime smoke with the low thc levels,

i help my parents out a lot with gardening and putting up fences so i dont usually smoke in day time, plus running kids to school and stuff like that so usually smoke on the night to help with sleep, but if i can get low thc levels then it might be the perfect day time smoke,

so jandre and alaska have both earned their reps, great info and hopefully this will benefit my health and day to day living,

I am working with one of the members of Project CBD to introduce more high CBD meds to the people of western Washington. I am also doing some breeding of new CBD strains to introduce to the world. I truly believe that CBD's are really the answer to a lot of peoples pain.
we will be starting to make our own RSO out of our high CBD plants.
Last but not least we will be starting to hit the cannabis farmers markets again.

I love this site, you can learn so much here if you take the time to read with an open mind.

I can attest to CBD being better for some things, especially during the day. It helps more for my migraines and fibro if I need a clear head by far, both vaped oil/wax/shatter, edibles and straight smoked. I'm hoping the pheno of the Harlequin Jo # 2 that's flowering right now ends up with the high CBD from it's Harlequin background just for that reason.

i have been looking into the high cbd thing for several reasons my gf spiffy is an ibs sufferer and it gets bad at times wheres shes doubled over in bed,or puking all night,crying in pain and apologizes to me for disturbing me sleeping!! i tell her not to be silly she puts up with me when im bedridden yelling & crying snapping everyones head off for talking to me! ,so theres all that pain in this house, then theres the issue i have with not wanting to be stoned off my nut all day i have a low tolerance to thc q puff of my current blue dream and im stoned for 4 hours,how can i get enough cbd from the few strains i have that have about 1-2%cbd if the thc is running the show!, i love getting ripped at night before bed but what ends up happening is i just skip it most the time ,i get a hangover from my knockdowns like bubbelicious,and since i have no good cbd morning med to counteract the night before, i end up poppin big pharmas lil blue evils, and feel trapped everyday the cycle continues,the few times i could afford seed all the solid high cbd strains were sold out! grrr very frustrating so i go on growing hoping to stumble across a cbd keeper,
your work A1 is vital, to ppl like spiffy and I, if theres anyway i can help let me know, theres so much untapped potential to our favorite flower

Not sure if there would be a way to double extract and separate the thc and cbd or not, at least not without some expensive lab equipment. That said, I've been experimenting with cooking and I have noticed that when I use Kief in something with only moderate fat, you don't get stoned unless you overdo it, but it does help quite a bit with physical pain, fibro, migraine for me, my girl's cramps and anxiety, etc. I think edible being more time released, especially when not on an empty stomace, keeps the stone down but still allows the other effects, like the cbd pain ones, to hit the body. I do notice for me, it takes about 45 min - 1 hour for it to be a noticed change, my girl will notice in 20 - 40 mins. I have a much higher tolerance than her.

Just a few thoughts and observations from my own experimentation and a bit absorbed from the Dr. when I got my medical approval about differnt ways to use, how they will affect and strain considerations.
