When I see a calyx at the node with her two lil legs, I count between 18/21 days from then to give em the big ol Cat. I didnt last time and although the smoke was/is spectacular, there isn't as much and what there is is rather fluffy..me no likey! This time round, I can tell I have superior plants and nice tight bud structure with plenty of time to go. These will be some of my best :)

Sure do! Im not an experimenter as it were. Plenty of others have done that and through the years I've taken snippets of those experiments and applied them to my grow. I TRULY believe, if it ain't broke, dont fix it. People who know I grow and have smoked my stuff, practically beg me for it. The all say its a different high. Like nothing they've ever smoked. I can dig it :)

Theres a few recents. They're doing well despite the RH being a lil high at times. Got between 3-4 weeks to go. High brix beauties! :)

High RH in late bloom is usually only an issue with the cultivars that have those big fat heavy colas that can develop bud rot in their core (I'm sure you know that), but I'd pick high RH over low RH any day...if I had to choose.

Thank you gentlemen! I've been doing something I learned from light addict, it's called back building. Basically you cut off the very tip of the top of the buds and theyre supposed to get fatter...well, it works! I did it to one bud on my dinachem last time and it turned out to be the fattest heaviest bud out of that run. The tops I snipped off this time are all doing the same thing AND its seems to make them denser than the others that didnt get snipped. Coincidence? Maybe but I dont thinks so....Ziggs, maybe I do experiment a tad lol. :)
 
I can't recall where I read about this, but yes the people that were doing it were indeed wanting denser buds. Everyone that did it right, like you, had great success. Some cut too much off and it slowed them down but they still got a nice harvest. Looking forward to seeing how they come out.

I am wondering though how you are doing it. The thread I read, where the guys really stack their nodes for those really tight buds that are prone to bud rot, were just cutting at the very top of the cola. With the High Brix, and the way you guys let them stretch real good, do you have to nip them at all the bud sites or just the very top ones?

I top my plants and lst them for the first month or so in the 2 gallons so I get many tops. I only do which ones I think would have produced the larger buds anyway. If it works out well again this time, ill nip all of the top buds next time. So far so good though! Im not concerned with bud rot because I have really good circulation between the fans and my exhaust and super healthy plants. You gotta remember that when plants grow outdoors, there's no control over the environment. They can withstand many different environmental factors and still produce quality flowers. My tent environment needs a bit of tweaking but atm I can't really do much about it cuz im renting.

Just a few pics. They have a few weeks or so left. The BD is going purple and the MGT is producing resin like crazy! Just starting to get burnt tips but im not too worried. The mgt might get an OG drench near the end just to see if I can bring more flavors out of her. The BDs will stay on the path til the end cuz they have a wonderful blueberry smell that I'm loving.

Thanks guys! Well here they are again. Coming up on chop day probably next weekend on the small BD and the MGT. The larger BD will go for a while longer cuz she's not changing at all. Still has clear trichs and the pistils are staying white while the other 2 are changing colors and fattening up more by the day. This will be my largest 3 plant harvest by far. The nugs are huge and super dense. They'll probably all get an OG drench...f it! Lol. Since this is my first BD grow, ill use this as a trial to see what and how I want to treat the next ones.
This will be my last grow for a while while I hunt down a place to call home but once I'm there, WATCH OUT! Ill be doing gavitas in a room ill build and prep specifically for growing cannabis, clone station and all. I build and remodel homes for a living so itll be my special project lol. Since I won't begrowing for a few months, I won't be around much at all but when I come back itll be a whole new setup :)
