Inside The Mini-Tent, 150W LED, Going Coco For Tropicanna Bananna

The Tropicanna Banana has one hell of a stretch after being flipped so maybe you won't need to worry too much about reaching the net. Here's mine making a mockery of the 3 other strains. It's the top left....

Prof, is that a spider farmer light in the pic?

I agree with @ChefDGreen, i usually defoliate to expose, this time I’m trying to tuck instead. I’m liking how it’s turning out. I even pin the fan leaves out of the way with garden hooks to hold them where I want them.
@ProfessorFlora thats Tropicanna Banana is looking great, how much height are you gaining roughy in stretch? (inches/day), I’m guessing I’ll be flipping mine this week. Just trying to get a rough idea.
I'm not sure how much she's growing per day but we're just over 2 weeks into flower and shes grown up just over a foot. She's easily doubled in height and hasn't finished growing up just yet.

It is indeed. This is only my second time using it. My first score was 1.3gpw but I had a canopy with a couple of week spots. I think that if all goes to plan then I could probably score 6oz with it. We'll see

Good to know that you're happy with it, I've just purchased 2 of the same lights, haven't used them yet.
They sent me one of their new stock by mistake, it has a separate dimmer unit next to the driver, also two ethernet/control ports? ???
I'll have to pop by your place see how it performs.

Hi, it looks good. Sometimes ya flip early, I dislike it cause i do like to keep a schedule
I did this last year, for another example of a sative in a small space.
I only did the screen this once but it worked with low stress training.
I did a Zamaldelica sativa in a relatively short tent with screen. I topped at 4 weeks, flipped 4 weeks later ended up with about 7 good branches.
Here it is just before flip, tallest top was maybe 10-11 inch above the soil top at flip.
full

Then 4 weeks later after flip, stretching all stopped
full

It got hot near the light but it went about 11 weeks then, harvest.

not bad for a first go with the screen. Stretched very well.

:goodluck:

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the replies. I've had my daughter this week for this first time since the lockdown was announced in the UK. I'll get through them all later tonight when she's in bed

Week 5 of VEG - Day 38

I am very sorry about posting that I'll update this journal and haven't been. Life is what it is!

Anyway, moving on.

Despite not replying to you fine people, I have been taking your advice. All the fan leaves have been tucked and tucked again the next day to help with the light penetration.
Here is her today:

But I feel like I've been tucking more than a Bangkok entertainer so I decided to get in about her with some garden wire and tie down the fan leaves for a more permanent solution.

And here is the final result :

A whole load more tops are now exposed and I'm really pleased with how many I have. I'm thinking that Monday next week will be Day 1 of Flower.

The bottom feeding is going well. Nice a simple and a god send in such a small tent. She's on 1.5ml of Calmag + 1.6g of Megacrop per 1.5l of water. She is fed once after the lights go off and I have introduced a second feeding in the morning that she has been loving. The water is gone within a couple hours. Very thirsty plant!

That's pretty much it, guys. I'm enjoying the ride so far so it will be a sad thing to have to push her quicker than I wanted, but I'm still optimistic about the end results, however stunted the yield is I know I'll have some nice flowers and I can get growing again as soon as possible.

I hope you're all well!

Stay safe and stay high :hippy: :ganjamon:

She’s looking really good burdok. Just try to push those tops towards the edge of the tent when you flip. Gotta fill in all that empty trellis space.

I think you’re right on flipping her soon. She’s ready.

Thank you, Chef. I'm happy with how healthy she is. Can't wait to see some buds forming now.

Hope all is well in your garden. I've not been keeping up much with my subs but expect a visitor soon

Good morning, all. Its a lovely day here in Scotland but I'm stuck in work. But I thought I'd post a small update:

I checked on wee Anna this morning and she's standing tall and proud and her leaves are a nice healthy colour, so I think I've saved her from my horrible nute mistake.

Tonight in going to install my filter and have a serious think about my training plans for this little girl.

Pictures to come later tonight.

I hope you're all well and safe
Are you Scottish? Because I speak a wee bit of scot :)

I’m in Australi, but one of my best friends is a Scottish lassie.

Now I hope I don’t fuck this up. You need to sound it out coz I have no idea how to spell it!

Orrr K-eye the nooooooo

My seeds popped a couple of weeks before yours, and I’m devastated to see how behind my plants are compared to yours!

Anna really looks like she is simply bursting with good health.

Oh and I’m in AustraliA not Australi- not sure what happened to my a lolling

Looking good @burdok420. I was thinking about flipping mine for Monday too. If I recall correctly I’m a few days ahead of you? This may have just gave me the push I need. Here’s a pic if your interested.

Ach aye the noo! Very good haha!

Looking great burdock. Get ready for the stretch!

The stretch is what I'm worried about! We'll see how it goes, I'm thinking supercropping will be my friend

Oh my goodness, what a beauty. How big do you think she's going to get?

Thanks man! I usually average around 1”-1.5” a day for around 21days. So I’ll guess a couple feet of stretch. I guess time will tell though,

That's a big stretch for my little tent! I'm definitely going to have to keep on top of her to keep her low. I'm pleased you have your journal on here, too. It's good to see someone giving her the space she needs!
Not forgetting you @ProfessorFlora, loving the TropBan community
:passitleft:
I like the grow choice man neat set up I'll tag along through flowering !

Welcome to the journal :welcome:

You're coming in at the meaty part. I'm going to try my best to get my posts more frequent and detailed so jump in anytime if you have questions (most likely to be answered by the other learned folk on this thread) or tips!

Hello all, I hope everyone is well!

I have a small update for the journal!

It's now Day 40 Inside the Mini-Tent! Anna will be whipped into flower mode on Monday so I have been very conscious of making sure everything is optimal before that point. Thus it made me look further into scrogging and specifically the ideal size of the holes in the net. Ideally the holes should be 50mm squared. The holes in my net are 100mm. I knew something wasn't quite right with the net and I was having some issues tucking the tops.

So that had to be dealt with.

Here is her today:

IMG_20200606_201757.jpg

So, lots and lots of tops, as you can see. I don't currently have space to tuck everything. I thought about purchasing a different net and then using this one for bud support later in flowering but I'm not made of money and I have a ball of string to hand so I'm just going to modify the net.

I cut 8 lengths of string at about 55cm length and used those to divide one hole in the net into four.

IMG_20200606_202009.jpg

Here it is with only one piece of the string woven into the net. With that one piece of string I turned 4 holes into 8.

So then I continued until...

BAM
IMG_20200606_203046.jpg

Looks like a whole new net! Hopefully this makes my tucking a little easier now.

Here she is with the net on her and a little tickety tick tucking done

The net won't win any beauty contests but it is definitely an improvement from before.

Not much else to update. I'm going to let her grow into the net tonight and tomorrow night and then Monday will be her first day of 12 hours sleepy time.

Exciting times in the Mini-Tent!
