Inside The Mini-Tent, 150W LED, Going Coco For Tropicanna Bananna

Looking good mate :thumb:
We’re going to see some buds here soon :ganjamon:

Thanks for stopping by, Rib.
Really can't wait to see them! I'm really wanting to push for 4oz from this plant, but really a full jar will make me happy, no matter the amount

Day 47 - Day 6 of Flower

Hello everyone, I think it's about time for another update from the mini tent. Its going to cover a couple of days over the last week since I flipped but the bold print at the top of this post is where we're at today! I think I've been a bit mixed up with my number of days in past posts. That's what happens when you smoke and type.

I've been tucking the branches since I flipped just focusing on keeping the canopy completely even. I've noticed how vigorous her growth is and to keep my height down I'm thinking of keeping up the tucking for 3 weeks instead of just 2.

On this day I really had to think about how I'm going to control the growth of this girl. Her stretch has been pretty crazy already. A couple of branches that were low on the plant have now had to be tucked under the net. She's got a vigorous stretch at the start of flower. Remind me why I'm growing a sativa in a tiny tent :hmmmm:
So what I've done is pretty much push everything over towards the side of the tent its closer to. This way I opened up a nice gap in the canopy to make sure she doesn't get too sweaty and gives a nice boost to the lower growth in the middle.

Here is one below the net:

This brings us to today and my thinking about how I'm going to grow this girlie has been fairly all-consuming. I really need a uniform way to keep the canopy even despite having limited space both horizontally and vertically. And I think I've come up with something fairly creative to deal with the issue.

This is her when I opened the tent to work on her and feed her. More on the feed later.

As you can see, the tops have reached the very outside of the net and some are trying to reach up. This would be okay if I could supercop those branches and tie them down outside the net but I don't have the horizontal space. I'm only 1.3 sq ft!
My solution to this is to use the net to make her grow clockwise around the tent and keep her even. I call it a SCRircle. I don't know if its a thing but its fun to say!

Pictures in next post...

Hopefully you can see that there is method to this madness!!
I'm going to let her grow a bit and get stable in the SCRircle shape before I start supercropping where needed, as I doubt LST will be sufficient to control this beast.

That brings me on to her feeding.
Today she got a fresh batch of feed at 2.1g of Megacrop and 1.5ml of Calmag per 1.5l of 6.0ph water. She took around 500ml before she stopped suckling it up. This girl is a hungry one. I hope I can fatten her up nicely!

I also have roots popping out the bottom of my fabric pot which is a good sign!

I really can't wait to see how the SCRircle works out. Hopefully I can keep it up for another 2 weeks :nervous-guy: And I imagine the deflation I'm going to do will be a bit of a pain in the arse, but it's what I need to do!

In hindsight I think my early veg training should have been different, focusing on the tops I had instead of topping for more. I've definitely affected the size of the buds I'll have come harvest but god knows I'll have plenty!!

That's all, guys and gals. I hope you're all well and your gardens are thriving.

:ganjamon:

Cheers, Tinkerbell!
How are things going in your neverland garden?
It wouldn’t be me if it didn’t have some random fuck up, but overall okay.

From what I've seen so far you're doing great!!

Burdock, when do you plan on letting the tops reach for the light?

Alright, Lister. So at the moment I'm unsure. Typically in a scrog folk tend to tuck for 2 weeks, let it grow through week 3, strip everything under the net at week 4 and then let her do her thing.
I'm considering tucking for longer because each day that passes she grows at least an inch or so. At the moment I'm going to feel her out and see how effective my SCRircle method is!

Morning Burdock.
Yeah I've never done a scrog before, that seems to be the timing ballance in play. I Suppose it comes down to knowing a plants stretch period.
Sending positive vibes, good luck bud.

Thanks, bud. I'm going to need it!

Day 48 - Day 7 of Flower

Well she's a beast. Pretty simple. I'm regretting not thinking my early training through more.

Really needing some advice re- chopping branches off at this stage.

The way I've trained has caused me to have 5 main stems. On those 5 stems are at least 3 nodes with a pair of fairly developed tops. And each of those 5 main stems have been topped. So lots going on under the net.

It's top galore in here, which would be heaven in a bigger tent. But now I'm really feeling the fact that I have less horizontal space to play with and I'm very concerned about some mould issues if she's going to be folded over on herself for weeks before she gets a chop.

What is the damage of taking some of the branches off? Perhaps 1 or 2 from each stem? With the stretch she's got it I have no doubt that those tops will be replaced but I obviously don't want to damage my yield.

Any help here would be great guys.

Thanks in advance :ganjamon:

Hey Burdock.
Thought I'd pop by and have a look at your grow.

Man you really have filled that tent to bursting.

Your plant looks as happy as a pig in shit mate :goodjob:

I've never done a scrog before but seeing others on here they generally do a defol and chop anything that hasn't made the net like a week before flipping.

You don't really want to be chopping anything for the first couple of weeks of bloom.
The plant will be using all its energy to stretch and turn to flower.

At most you could take some lower fan leaves but dont go beserk, just two or 3 a day.

Once you are a couple of weeks into flower you can re-evaluate and look to see what's not made it to the canopy.

If any tops step out of line and start reaching the top of your tent you could supercrop them to save running out of height.

In the meantime just keep plenty of air flow and hold tight for the stretch.

Do you mean SCRircling or Branchaborating as it’s better known in the more professional growing circles?

Sounds like a plan.

Thank you very much for this, mate. You've confirmed a lot of what I've been thinking.
It's going to be really tight, though. She has so many limbs and leaves, it's nuts. If anything, I've probably got her big enough to get pretty much the max I can out of this tent, which is a nice thought.
If I can pull 4oz I'll be over the moon, but I'm thinking 3oz is more realistic.

I'll just be happy to have a couple of jars with some nice flowers in them.

Thank you for the help, bud. I hope you'll tag along for the rest of the journey. God knows I need the help!

SCRircling will be known around the world soon. Mark my words

No worries, I'm far from an expert but Ill tag along and help if I can.

I'd say you have definitely maxed out the space you have and some. It's not a bad thing.
The challenge now will be keeping everything sweet till harvest time.

4oz in your space is possible, but the main thing is just to get to the finish line.

With all that tucking and folding you'll be a black belt in origami Rodney :)

There's more tucking going on in my tent than backstage at a drag show. It's like containing the hulk with a tea towel

That’s filling right in @burdok420!
Great job, gonna be a lot to keep all in check! I’m sure it’s really taught you lots already. Looking good buddy. Can’t wait to see it finish.

Thank you, CD. She's definitely keeping me on my toes
