Icetech's First Grow Durban Poison & Jack Herer In Soil, QB LED, 2019

Ah yes, I know the area well. Be glad you moved north, not much left down there now. South of there is really bad.
As far as your plants, the color looks good, and no noticeable burn or deficiency, at least from those pics. Let them dry out more between feedings, until you see a noticeable wilt.
Here is a pic from my journal, at about 32 days from seed hitting the paper towel, so you can compare. I think your's are larger, and healthy, so sit back, and enjoy the growth. They'll really start shooting up now.

I used to live 1 mile south of the border down in Ohio, just off 75. Worked in Dearborn near the Ford engineering center for several years and once a month was downtown at the Hotel St Regis for sales meetings. A little south of y'all (can you tell I moved south now) but I'm familiar with the area. Did a lot of travel in SE Mi back then.

Yours look good... yeah i'm just impatient.. the durban is fine, the herer is just not growing tall at all. just more bushy..

Day 43:
Sooo... took some pics tonight.. I am finding training a little harder than i thought it would be.. plus since i broke the main stalk on the durban i couldn't bend it for a week so now it's all a mess.. Removed a bunch of little leaves that were under the main leaves tonight. Plants are still way too small i feel..

I have been running the light 18/6 one thing i found tonight is that with the light off the tent is dropping to 66, with the light on 78-80.. i am wondering if the 6 hours of cold are slowing them down bad? I switched it back to 24 hours for now..

So far.. not enjoying growing at all :)

Durban Poison.. If i grow again i think i'm gonna try mainlining instead of LST..

Jack Herer The leaves look a little twisty mainly cause i was moving them around while removing some of the lower branches.. this thing has nodes like ever 1/2" up the main stalk it seems.. i kind of wish i had trashed it earlier and tried again at this point.

K.. so been awhile wasn't going to bother updating but figure why not.. there are soo many journals here and people that i dont' think anyone will actually see this..

so.. day 71ish (started jan19)
First, the Herer.. the thing is a damn bush.. it has leaves every 1/2" up each branch.. i finally went and defoliated a bunch last night hoping to get more new growth..

Oh, I see, I’m just a nobody. Jk. They look great Ice. I would flip if it was me. They will stretch and fill out nicely. Are u planning on a little defol before 12/12? What flower nutes are u gonna use? I’ll be in your neck of the woods next Sunday. Jogging the Detroit River. I sure hope not to hook any bodies.

haha yeah. i was specifically meaning you when i said no one :) I was thinking 1-2 more weeks before flowering, i want that herer to grow a bit more.. and i will defol a bit more before flowering, trying to do a little at a time to keep the plants from getting mad..

So far i have only been using cal-mag and FF's grow big.. and honestly. just gonna keep using that through flower. Have read of other people just staying on same nutes.. but who knows, i need to research more. The durban is just amazing to grow and soo easy. the herer has been a pissy little bitch :) but is starting to come along..

Don't sweat running downtown.. it's not bad we don't have near the murders we used to, i would actually like to live downtown now, but apartments are 2-4k for like 1500 ft it's insane..

Gonna order a second tent today, wanted to get another Apollo, been really happy with it's quality but the thing have gone up $20 in the last 3 months.. i know.. i'm cheap but hate paying more for the same damn thing :)

Going to get another 2x4x5 i only plan on ever doing 2 plants at a time, but need a second tent for grow/veg while my main is flowering..

And a second Quantum board 250w setup.. really happy with those lights so far..

Hello Ice!
Great journal you have going on here, please, keep it updated. :)
I've just read the whole thread, I must say I don't think your plants were anything small at their age. Well, I grow autos, but mine are visibly smaller than yours at the same age.
I'm particularly interested in your progress with Jack Herer, since I also grow one, the only difference is that mine is a Jack Herer Auto with ruderalis genes.
I'll follow you along your way, happy growing! :green_heart:

Thanks... yeah i actually just took cuttings of the durban poison to clone.. i don't know what's with the herer honestly, it just won't stretch at all. I have 2 more seeds, i might try again in the future. The 2 plants are so different, the herer is really dark green and slow growing, the durban is like WEEEE... light green.. crazy new growth every day and just happy as can be.. i hope it is as good as i have read though:) I'm going to switch to flowering this weekend i think..

Also keep in mind that different strains might develop quite differently. I don't know about your Herer, but I know that although my two strains (Jack and AK47) have the same expected flowering time and whole lifespan, the Jack is said to be a much more compact, lower yielding plant. The seedbank (Royal Queen Seeds) where I got my seeds from, provides a datasheet for all of their strains, and Jack Herer is more on the shorter, lower yielding side of the spectrum. I'm nowhere near an expert when it comes to different strains, but I think this strain is more famous for its taste and effect than its actual yielding potential.

yeah.. that's why i'm gonna go with the bigger plants first and stockpile some then try other strain.. really wanna try laughing buhhda but not paying $25+ a seed and insane shipping on top of it.. cause cheap:)

What's funny is, i am enjoying growing more than smoking... really starting to not like weed much anymore..
