Icetech's First Grow Durban Poison & Jack Herer In Soil, QB LED, 2019

Re: pot size. General rule of thumb, 1 gallon per intended months of growth, minimum. So a 3 gallon pot is the minimum pot size you should use for a 3 month grow. Of course you can go bigger, but after a while there is a point of diminishing returns. There's no point in using a 20 gallon pot for a 3 month grow.

Thanks, gonna go with 3gal cloth pots i think :)

Unless you're cramped on space, I'd probably do 5's. You'll likely veg for 30 days or more, and the sativa dominant strains will probably take 10 weeks or so in flower. That's 3.5 to 4 months. And for numerous other reasons (more air to roots, easy drainage, won't get root bound) cloth is a good idea.

Will grab some 5's then.. thank you :)

Awesome, i can't wait to try it :) And yeah.. i loved 420guy's packaging in the little tiny vials.. i put the spare seeds in the fridge, hope i won't need them soon.

Almost at 2 weeks... Durban on the right, herer on the left, a tiny bit of nute burn on the tip there.. but not bad, just hit them a little too early, but they really seemed to perk up with nutes. for some reason my camera made them a bit darker than they are.. bright green and happy so far.. the Herer is only bout half the size though.

Once that jack gets on its feet hang on lol those girls grow insanely

I have a Carson Microbrite Plus pocket microscope I got off Amazon for $13. My older eyes couldn't see enough with a standard Jewelers Loupe. It is easier to use if you can put the item being examined on a hard surface,. My timerbi just picked up at the local hardware. I use an outdoor model, even though the tent is inside, and the timer is outside the tent. They cost 2 or 3 times more but I thought with the potential for higher humidity around the tent it would be worth it.

thanks, ordered that microbrite, will have to go pick up a timer..not sure if i should stay 24 hours a day light or go 18/6.. upside of 18/6 is longer light life:) But.. will going 18 instead of 24 slow growth?

I grow more autos than photos. On the autos I go 20/4 anymore, photos 18/6 during veg. They are kind of like humans, they do need some sleep (lights off). It's not uncommon to see big growth spurts during their lights off period. Don't be afraid of a little darkness.

So.. i transferred my plants into 5gal smart pots today, everything seemed to go smooth, but about a hour later i checked on the durban and it is super wilty and unhappy looking :( the herer looks fine.. is it normal to have them get a little down after a transfer?

Transplanting can be stressful for a plant since you are disturbing the roots. She should look better in a day or two. I wouldn't worry too much unless it goes beyond day 3.

It looks like you have a "white light" style LED fixture. If so, you can get by with a cheap Lux meter off of Amazon ($20). I've got an article linked over in my thread on how to use one.

BTW.. if anyone reads this, which i doubt with how much new stuff there is daily, but i need a recommendation to a cheap magnifying glass/jewlers and a timer.. my timer is older than dirt and only 2 wire..

I run Eco Plugs from Wal-Mart, they are Wi-Fi enabled ($20). The only trouble I ever had with them was self induced. But while you're away you can be paranoid and check to see if they are on...haha! My seedlings are growing just fine under one LED flood light. Think of increasing the light as the plants continue to grow. The height from what many believe is if you can hold your hand under it and is okay for you is okay for the plants.(Just not newbies) Roots have to be well established for growth. It is expensive but works called Roots Excelerator Gold. Tagging along, very interested in Durban Poison. Cheers!
