Plants: 1
Temp: 68
RH: 50
Water: no
Height: no change

No further numbers being reported for this time and no pics. Closed the 3 HVAC vents in the basement. Note: The HVAC is running on the cool cycle with the thermostat set at 69 F during the day and changes to 63 F starting at 2:30 pm until the morning on the the days the wife works, and runs 63 F all day on her days off. This accounts for lower temps (than the ideal plant target range) and a fluctuations between reports.

No change in height since noon yesterday has me concerned. Probably normal but I've never tracked like this before. I'll be patient. Don't see anything concerning otherwise.

It's probably a good thing that she stopped growing in height... you don't want her too leggy!

If she's not overwatered and not too cold then she's probably stopping to focus on root development and a tiny bit of leaf development (true leaves are slightly bigger). You can rule out the heat variable easily enough when your wife is home and temps are higher :)

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't stop to think of that; now it makes sense, cause I was at the same time worried about her getting too tall too quick without the rest of the development. Now my nerves feel calmer.

Haha talk about watching the grass grow. Good luck with the Durban
Thanks for stopping by. I know, it's an experiment of mine to get familiar with how they grow throughout the day while they're young. Today I decided after my 6:00 pm check I'll cut back now that I got a feel. Time consuming too.

I said I wouldn't post for a week but I would be remiss not to wish her happy 1 week birthday little girl. :happy-birthday:

Since she has pics from yesterday, I'm not including any of her today, however, I have one of some sweet basil. Why? My wife picked it from our garden to use for cooking and put a sprig of it in a glass of water in the kitchen window sill. Although I have successfully cloned 3 for 3 in the past (with marajuana), she unintentionally got better root results than all my special cutting, cloning gel, and rockwool . I may have to designate her the cloner. Good job honey!

Early post due to a few strategy changes with dome and watering. Soil was dry with last watering 3 days ago 07/09/20 6:00 pm. I read how to water your plants and wanted to give a good deep soaking for overall root development.

This post is to document the plant condition beforehand for comparison.

In the reading I also learned about up-potting. I use peat pots to avoid handling as I don't do transplanting well. My plan was to go to a 7 gallon fabric. Now I have to rethink that plan, but I used everything I have for a veggie garden and finances are tight. If she were in the wild, she would just go, so I may have to do that.

I moved her in the dome with the vents open 07/10/20 12:00 pm to increase humidity, which has gone from an avg 50% to 70% and she has been doing well.

Included in the pic in the bigger pots are two GSC

I do have a question on nutes. I have General Hydroponics FloraMico, Gro and Bloom, as well as Bloom City CleanKelp. At what age should I begin using these?
I think week 2 or 3 depending on development, but I'm sorry to say yours really look like they're lagging :( You might be overwatering... I think you may very well be set back a week. I'd reach out for help on the forums for those more familiar with soil, but here's what I was seeing on day 6 VEG (Day 12 seed drop):

Best of luck! I'll keep following along and will be sending positive thoughts your way!!! :Namaste:

Could it be my low temps being in the 60's, 70 F at best, my RH was 50% until I put them back in the dome, now it's in the low 70's%? This morning it was temp 64 F and RH 83%. Also, my lights are 52" above them. Too high another factor?

I don't think it's your lights... if it were that I think you'd have a huge stretch and they'd keep growing. I don't think it's the RH or occasional low temps -- they would slow things down for sure, but I don't think that much.

The reason I had suggested posting to the forums for help is because the bulk of my experience with this plant is in hydro and I've never had a stunted plant even in colder temps, etc -- but maybe in soil that makes a difference? The only scenario I had ever had a stunted plant was my first attempt in soil and the issue was not letting the medium dry out completely between waterings.

I moved outside with the goal of speeding up growth that I think have been stunned for two reasons, one, the low temps my wife has to have in the house that is resulting in consistently low temps for the plants as documented, and two, to dry out in the event I've been overwatering (to which I credit @adudecalledjay for pointing out as a possibility, as well as pointing out the stunned growth).

Seem to be loving the sunlight, and I made a pot rotation to prevent too much leaning in one direction. I don't believe the temp/RH reading, it doesn't feel like a 100 F and the forecasted high was 81 F; phone has lower temp.

Make sure only to have them outside a little bit at a time... they need to be hardened off :) Edit: in fact I probably would start in the shade!

Looking good. Keep a sharp eye open for bugs over the next couple of weeks. Especially aphids. Always a bit risky bringing outdoor plants into the tent! Good to see that soil drier!
