How To - 7 Gal Rim Mount SCROG Pots In 2 X 4 Tent - 8.25 Sq Ft

Here is the Blackberry, 2 days after a 6 cup clear H2O top/bottom water.
1 hour after lights on, Temps and RH are steady at
77/79f @ 57/60 RH Day
68/70f @ 58/61 Night

Watering intervals went
10 days (dunk),
8 days (dunk),
now at 5 days using 6 cup top/bottom water

I am leaning toward Up Potting in a day or so
since I need them to spread out further then the
one gal plastic will allow

Plus the Droopy look makes me want to up pot also.
BTW just up from checking AGAIN at 3hrs after lights on
and they are looking much better but still not what I would
like.

Hey Gazoo. Our babies are just about the same age, mine a re a few days younger. I'm pretty sure doc would suggest you prune that girl up some, get rid of those yellow leaves and other lower growth. Mine do the same thing and are droopy far longer after lights on than I would like but by the am just before lights out, they look awesome. I see you started training, I think I need to do that too. If you get a chance, stop by my journal to see the similarities in our lil ones.

Edit to add, what I thought were yellow leaves is just the pipe cleaner, still think she could use a little cleaning up down below, 70's porn star bush going on there, ha!

Rock on!

Cool I will stop by your journal and compare notes :)
Thanks for stopping by

I rarely remove old lower growth until it has been completely
drawn of its nutrients. I let the plant do its own trimming :)
In the past when I have removed older yellowing leafs the plants
just seem to move up to the next set and start taking from them
so I just let the plant do it at its own pace.

I am sure Doc would recommend the Trim and to let her go much longer
before Transplant. However in my style of grow I don't think I can let
her go that long in this small pot, Plus I wont have enough time to fill
the net if I don't up-pot soon. I really want to get to a daily watering
before up-potting but don't think I have the time to do that

EDIT: BTW She just very recently lost her Embryonic leafs, and has now
started on the single blade leafs :)

Here we go. Things look to have turned the corner

RH is going up, Just checked a few minutes before lights
on and its sitting at 64RH 68f .

Will need to keep an eye on this in case I need the
De-Humidifier.

Like humping (Army for walking) the hills in Hawaii its always either UP or DOWN

Well that didn’t take long, Up-Potted Yesterday “VEG DAY 24”

I also did some defoliation the day before at “VEG DAY 23”

The Blackberry Kush was ready for WATER but she has been so
DROOPY for the last 2 or 3 days I could not let it go on any longer.
Don't see any reason to let her continue to be stunted from being
root bound ? Did not take pictures when removed but YES she was
very well wrapped in roots, not as insane as Doc's but well within
the time frame for up-potting.

Doc recommends waiting until they need daily watering
(I’m @ 5 day intervals) before up-potting, Just can’t wait
any longer, need to fill the NET before its time to switch so
being day 24 (week 3 day 3) I only have 3.5 weeks before
I start the TIME change (week 7). I do a 15 min change each day
going from 16/8 to 11/13 (5 hr change x 15 min a day = 20 day switch)

That’s just under 3 weeks to switch which will include the
Pre flower and Stretch before I switch the light spectrum to Red,
Blue through the Stretch will help keep the stretch down.
Starting THE switch at end of week 7 will add a week or so its
a 8 to 9 week Veg time frame before its full flower on time.
Will add some pictures tonight when the lights come on.

Both are now Up-Potted. The GSC was ready for Water today so
decided to put her in the 7 gal.

GSCE In 7 gal Pot today VEG DAY 25

I included Pictures this time of the up-potting process for the GSCE
and included pictures of the Roots, not as wrapped as the the blackberry were
but still ready.

OH BTW the BLACKBERRY is now looking much better, No more Droopiness

I also INSTALLED the NETS since both plants are now in there
final 7 gal & the 10 gal pots. Timing looks just about right, they
are just reaching the nets.

Looking good Gazoo! In that last pic, is that a water/feed line? If so, do you use a pump or is it gravity fed?

:passitleft:

Thanks Friend

Yes that is my home made SLoooow watering ring. It has five nozzles I can position
either towards the center or to the sides, I usually re-position it a few times over the watering.
This is attached by small hose to a small Aquarium Water Pump, placed in bucket of Water/Go Juice.
Pump is plugged into a Cycle timer (1 min ON / 5 min OFF - REPEAT) This is a very slow automatic
watering that slowly soaks in and wicks throughout the pot, Takes approximately 1.5 hours for 2.5 gallons.

I don't have much run-off but whats there, I remove with a shop vac after a 1/2 hour or so.

I have installed drain plugs in my smaller Pot Trays but forgot to add them to the larger pans
this time, I will have them installed for the Next run( eliminates the shop vac noise)

Also doing some re-evaluation on space, I know I said I would set-up my Lady Bug house
mid to late veg but looking at the space I don't think I will have the room to put it in this
time, with the 3 humidifiers and the larger pots it does not look possible. I have not had issues
with any pest the last 3 or so grows and this being WINTER I don't suspect I will need them
this time. Will have to do a special HOW TO on this when I get the time.

EDIT:
Forgot to bring the photo forward showing it set up and running

Oh man just realized I forgot to install my ROOT TEMP censors,
Corded temp unit with the corded reading end placed at bottom
of newly up-potted plant so I can monitor the roots temps.
Oh well no reading on that this time :(

Just realized I missed a few NOTES about the feedings.
So far these have NOT had Any GE as of yet
Only Transplant Drench & Tea Have been Used in the following sequence.

GSCE has had 2 consecutive Trans/Dunks, in 1 Gal & 1 slow top water Trans feeding AT Transplant in 7 Gal Pot.
10 day, 7 day then 5 day DUNK intervals in 1 Gal pots

BLACKBERRY has had Trans, Then H20 with Tea IN 1 Gal, Then Trans AT Transplant in 10 Gal
10 day, 8 day then 5 day DUNK intervals in 1 Gal pots

Looking like this run I will be going with 1.5 mil per gallon of soil for drenches,
and 1.5 to 2.0 mils Tea each Plant, UNLESS Something goes south.

Other Notes: I did not do a ROOT SCORE on the Blackberry, just could not
bring myself to do it since she was so droopy did not want to take
the chance of shocking her too much. Looks to have worked out ok
since she is all woken up again and standing tall 2 days later.

I Did Score the Roots on the GSCE and used the following
amounts to water her in. Run off was approximately 1 to 2 cups

(1.5mils x 7gal) = 10.5 mils Transplant
( Per Plant ) = 1.5 mils Tea
This was with 4 cups of H2O for each Gal of soil = 7 X 4 = 28 Cups H2O (1.75 Gal)
1 to 2 cups run off

Same amounts for the Blackberry but increased for the 10 Gal size, was done
the day before ( I like having the staggered watering's)

Well I suppose I should include this here as well :)
This is VEG DAY 25 Just after Up-Potting, included
some Notes and measurements just because I could :)

Well looks like I am on my own :)

Just can't seem to convey my ideas over at
the other thread, Turns into a knife fight every time

No big deal because I WILL DIAL this in

I may not Master this today, Tomorrow or Next year but
know I will and it will be better controlled.

From what I've seen, you are doing well with the kit. May not be perfect but it pretty darn good and I know you strive to get better each day so keep it up. There are many ways to skin a cat and each grower must do what works for them. Anyways Gazoo, have a great night and don't be a stranger.

Its on Now, Back the F*** off and let me at the controls
and I will DIAL this in to perfection.

The idea of the apprentice thread is to grow with the kit as doc himself grows. Which you were suppose to be doing with doc not myself . Your ideas are awesome and I personally love the info you bring about.

I hope from my reply in my journal you didn't take offence to that cause it wasn't meant that way at all.
Hope I'm still welcome to stick around but if not I'll understand and move along. No hard feelings

Absolutely welcome and I encourage your input, Did not take offense just felt I was not
getting any support in my approach, felt I explained it clearly, I Don't have the height to allow
them to get that big in smaller pots. Trying to understand and figure a way around it WAS not
expecting GIVE up and do it my way, that was Not your response by the way just how it came
across in some other responses

VEG DAY 31

Looks like I need to make a decision on how long to leave these in the larger finish pots before Flip ?

Recommendation is to FLIP as soon as plants are Up-Potted but I want to fill the Nets First
So I need to FLIP as soon as posable. Next time I may use bigger starter pots so I can leave
them in the first pots longer ? but will need to see what actually happens this time first.

Thinking since these are now week 4, Day 3 of veg and have been in the FINISH Pots for
a week I really need to FLIP within the next 2 weeks.

Taking that into consideration I have not given any GE yet and need to give it at least once
before the flip, I will need to wait until after the next GE Drench.

Thinking if I can GE this coming week I will get a growth spurt that by then should be able
to fill the Net before Full flip. My Flip takes nearly 3 weeks at 15 min. a day change.

All this is going to put me in the larger finish pot for an extra 2 to 3 weeks but I still have
the Re-Charge to add sometime in the future :)

Anyway that's the plan but we will see :)
