How To - 7 Gal Rim Mount SCROG Pots In 2 X 4 Tent - 8.25 Sq Ft

Yup I try and take into consideration the extra time it takes to SCROG,
Longer Veg, approx 2 extra weeks, give or take. Not sure if its really worth it
but in my space its a must

I think the extra time is worth it.

My last run I flipped early out of concern for head space, but regretted not having trained. The yield was considerably less and I must remember to be patient. It pays off in the long run in my experience..

However when I have a multitude of all these great strains, I have a tendency to want to hurry and try the next one.

That tendency is also the driving force in my current thinking of going with a perpetual run and mixing in several strains. Not fully committed to this yet and may be determined by the outcome of my current grow.

:scratchinghead:

24 hours after they were BOTH FIMMED

They are now OFFICIALLY in the VEG STAGE Pictures below are
VEG - WEEK1 Day 3

BLACKBERRY is Day 21 from Ground Break
GSCE is Day 19 from Ground Break

BOTH are 6 Days from the 1st Transplant/Dunk

BOTH Were “FIMMED” 24Hrs prior both at the 5th Node

INTERESTING The BLACKBERRY has possibly 9 bladed leafs at 5th Node
since so fare its been 1, 3, 6*,7 and this last set is still too small to count
but I suspect 9 bladed at 5th Node.

ALSO While FIMMING I noticed a ROOT sticking out from a lower hole
in the pot, that’s a good sign I suspect at 24 days from planting

Looking good!! I am glad to see Scuba Steve has a proper dive helmet now. :goodjob:

Thanks, Not sure who will be stopping by next time, it's like the
guest spot :)

I'm Curious to see how long she can keep her embryonic leaves

EDIT: BTW I will be doing the "LADY BUG HOME" How to sometime during
mid-Veg, figured it will be easier to do it while I am setting it up during
this run

Just up from checking on the girls and filling my Humidifiers

Interesting note at 22 days from Ground break (blackberry)
I see another ROOT sticking out of another Lower side hole
a good indication the ROOTS have hit the edges of the Pot
and are well on there way to filling up the pot.

This was still not a perfect start since I had that few days of low
Humidity so hoping the next run I can get an even stronger start :)

Since this is running in line for use with my rim mount scrog pot

I figured I should mention why I FIMMED at Node 5, not only for the
the top branch split but also to open up the plant so the lower first,
second nodes will get good light for early branches. I need to keep
these as short as I can since 8 inches is the NET height from soil.

EDIT: When I say open up the plant I mean time for the water leafs
to grow out with longer stems. at this small stage they overlap and
restrict light

You'll have no problems, I use to fim at 3rd node without any, but stick with Docs recommendation of 5 or more these days.

Thanks, I have always had good success at the 5th but in the kit they do sprint faster
Worked first run but had to FIM Back to back, the plant had other ideas and produced 3 shoots
at that node :)

I have had as many as 6 before when Fimm'ing

I remember seeing a post with one that had a bunch, was that yours?
Would be cool to see what ever came of it, six mainline node NICE
Wonder what it is that can cause this while fimming ?

EDIT: Wonder if the plant releases something at the site that
causes this when done very early

I don't recall which strain it was, I had several growing at the time. Several from Sannie and AK47.
The post you saw was not me, as I didn't post back in those days.

I recall reading about how the plant reacts to Fim'ing, but not the exact details. Google probably knows. :cheesygrinsmiley:

EDIT: Those back two on my thread had 4 come up and then as I spread them under the screen, a small one developed in the middle and grew into another respectable branch.

Veg DAY 5
7 Days since 1st Trans/DUNK
THESE pictures were taken Yesterday
Thinking 1st BRIX when light come on
so that will be day 6 of Veg

Maybe a ¼ cup clear RO H2O around
outer edges but not sure will see when
the lights come on
Also I miss counted ONLY 7 blades at the
5th on the Blackberry

I just realized I never explained why I put the small pots
in the upside down clone-tray (clear cover). Its to keep the
Cold Mist Air coming from the Humidifiers (3 ea) from
chilling the sides of the pots.

VEG DAY 7

Ok I was thinking I was going to do a ¼ cup outer edge
moisten but found the Blackberry was actually in need of
another Dunk so went ahead and Dunked them both

Since the 1st Dunk was with a stronger than usual dose of
0.5 Ounce Transplant
2.5 Mils Tea
in 1.25 Gal H2O

THIS TIME

I went with ¼ transplant amount at
.25 Mils Transplant
0.2 Mils Tea
with 10 Cups H2O Each Plant

There was 3.5 cups left over from each Dunk
Thinking next time I may just go with what the pots
actually hold 6 cups

BTW I found a good size half bucket at Orchard Supply that
fits these square pots very well. Blue half pot in pictures

VEG DAY 9

A little concerned about the Darker/purpling stems and asked over at the

it, Sounds like a plan for the next Dunk which will be GE

VEG DAY 11
Week 2, Day 4

These were taken just before I tied down the 2 top shoots
on the GSCE (Girl Scout Cookie Extreme)

Also need to include I did a PINCH/SQUEZE to the 2 main tops
on the GSCE 2 days ago. This was done because I read that just
pinching/squeezing the new growth can be used instead of
removing the tips ? Seems to have only SERIOUSLY DEFORMED
the leafs :)

Also notice the BLACKBERRY still has her Embryonic leafs but noticed
a slight bit of fading on them so looks like they will be gone soon
but lasted into nearly week 3 of veg

The GSCE Embryonic leafs are officially gone now

EDIT: Forgot to mention since the BlackBerry has good branches starting
at the very first single blade node, She is looking good to have 10 branches
at the 5th Node approx 4 or 5 inches high.

Hoping this will work with Doc's way of keeping the
plants in the 1 Gal pots so long, I expect to have trouble
keeping them under the 8 inches of screen height before transplant.
But if I can keep them short and still develop a lot of branches maybe
I can
