Horse's Crawlspace Grow

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

pH buffering solution is used for calibrating pH testing pens. It does not change the pH of your water. it is simple distilled water set at that pH.

The pH up and down will. Down is usualy Phosphorus Acid, but can vary. you can get a pint for around $6.95 from your local grow shop. I prefer 'Pro pH' Brand.

GL man!

No wonder the buffering solution didn't work!

I saw the vinegar drift you mentioned this morning. I made up 5gal last nite to 5.8... it was 5.9 this am. Readjusted, and it stabilized for 8 hrs. I'll check it every time for now on.

Thanks for the heads up on the Pro pH :grinjoint:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Thanks to all the help overcoming my doofusness, I think the girls are finally back on track.

I LSTd them again last night. I'm amazed how much they turned by this morning.

Big Bertha puts out. I can't even see her stalk.

She is one fat mama... she likes gravy on her mashed potatoes

They're becoming pistil packin' mamas, too.

A few branches have yellowy varegation, but I'm hoping they're past that now that they're actually getting some grub with the right pH

I don't have a pic, but the very tips of some of the tops are brown. The t5HOs have been about 2-3" away. It's no more than a 1/16" of burn. Too close for babies... or adolescents? I have moved the lights up.

Got the fan for 1000w bloom tent. It's big, but man is it quiet. 1.4 sones.

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

hi horse nice grow you got going on here,im in on this one trying to learn new methods so hempy is one im interested about so im in bro!

Welcome to the monkey house, langa... you will definitely learn what not to do here!!! :smokin2: I know I am :peace:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Looking good, Horse. Ugly leaves never make up and look nice for me, but new growth is what's happening. Big leaves emerge pale green till they inflate and start working. Different strains will have some variance, but yours look ready to be exploding, and they could triple height after the flip.

Thanks PG,

We may have figured out sorta what they are. After a bowl of Flo, Ms Horse suddenly remembered the folks she got the seeds from saying something about Old Power Plant. Ever hear of it?

Pure Power Plant is as close as I can find, and some seed companies call it Indica, some Sativa... these sure look like it.

anyway, if it triples in height I'm gonna have to tie cinder blocks to whatever makes it thru the ScroG :)

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Old Power Plant. Yes, I like that name. I've read many strain names, some more appealing than others. An experienced grower could need several grows to learn what he can or cannot do with a strain, and what the results are. When you've cut and dried a bud and put it in your bowl, call it 'mine' and enjoy. I usually think of cured buds in jars to be 'this shit' or 'that'. Not trying to be anal here, but
there's some good shit in them jars :yummy:

It's better than calling it Chernoble... and, I'm cracking up over your shit analysis... I've had good shit, and bad shit... the bad was shit, the good is a whole different kinda shit... but it was still good shit :rasta: if I had a point, i forgot it :smokin:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Pure Power Plant is mostly sativa, and I may be growing it on my next grow.

Your plants look like they are going to explode with growth in those hempy buckets.

Are you keeping a level of nute solution in the bottom of the kiddie pool to keep your buckets watered longer or just using it as a catch basin?

Using hempy buckets, you'd have to have the level above the hole, but with regular pots with bottom holes, you could have it lower. Would be good if leaving home for a few days.

Considering the above posts, I have to do this.

I hate to hyjack your thread, but I just think this will give you some motivation!! You can have this if you pick door number 3!!!!

This is MY White rhino that I grew with a VERY sativa Phenotype. Cured for about a month and a half +. VERY tasty, and knock you down stuff. Yours can be better!!!

Just listen to your plant, and then when she starts filling your ears about how she needs more time, but your too antsy to listen, let go, and listen to her. Good things come to those who wait!!

peace guys! Keep up the good work Horse! No more Buffer right?

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Pure Power Plant is mostly sativa, and I may be growing it on my next grow.

Whatever it is, it seems pretty hardy. It has resisted every one of my assassination attempts. I still it's pretty funny that while most seed catalogues/descriptions are word for word the same, they can't agree on the indica/sativa thing.

Your plants look like they are going to explode with growth in those hempy buckets.

I know it. They are lashed, leashed, and lassoed, and they're still reaching for the sky!

The pool is just a catch basin. Since we went on the 3x/day feeding schedule, I've only been pumping it out once a day, but I don't let it get above the damnit hole.

We are going to the coast over the 4th of July, so I had been toying with the idea of filling the pool above the drain hole. If anyone has anymore thoughts on that, I'd love to hear them.

One of the funky things about the pool is run off residue. The FF Big Bloom worm castings stick to the bottom. Once the girls are ScroGged, it'll be impossible to clean it.

Thanks for crawling in

nice job :thumb:

I'll feel extremely lucky to one bud like that. Thanks to the all you 420 folks, the learning curve is definitely getting flatter. :smokin:

oh my,
gin and tonic? thats ok guys, i'll just pull up a chair and join in, i know you meant to invite me...lol...gee that sounds good...havent had one for yrs...
just passing thru, thanks for the info on the ph up and down...have some but scared of it...everyone says it is really radical and to just use a drop...any ideas, is it really that scarry? also, silly question, but how do i use that adjustment ck, the 4 and 7? it is 7 i think....have all the instruments but when the directions said to calibrate, i just put them back in the box and there they sit...never used...have an aeroponics system, and large auto cloner, out in garage, never touched...scared to death of them...it all started sounding to technical, and dirt was familiar...so i just do dirt...chicken i guess...thanks for all the help you all....hugs, lavendar:peacetwo:

the 4 & 7 calibration solution is to calibrate the pH pen. Calibrate to 7 using the solution and adjust the pen to read 7 when in the solution, and then check with the 4 to be sure it's reading correctly. You are SUPPOSED TO get electrode storage solution to store the gel tip Electrode in, but I just use 4 solution. (a tip I picked up from a Hanna rep.

oh, and pH up and down ammounts you need to add vary with each manufacturer, but the Pro pH up and down that I like is 1/4 tsp of pH adjuster per gallon of water to raise or lower the pH by 0.5 Very simple, and it's not that bad really. Just dont get any on you or it will melt your skin, seep into your bones and travel to your brain and give you massive brain trauma.... er... wait, thats murcury. ahahahaha, j/k but it may sting a little. it is potent acid and base though, so best to wear gloves. I just use an eyedropper, but if it gets on my hand it is a little irritating, so I just rinse soon. No biggy.

Hope that helps. Now its off to Enchated Arms. WOOHOO!!
