Horse's Crawlspace Grow

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Ok, I did start the tent. A long shot:

A little closer:

I'm not sure how long this going to stay like this, so everything is just screwed together. 2x4 frame 43"x43" screwed to the floor joists. I tightly cut a piece of 1/2" foil faced foam insulation to keep some heat from going upstairs, and for light blockage. It wasn't tight enough, so I sealed the edges with door and window tape. That worked.

I toe-screwed all the pieces that stuff like lights, fans, ducting are going to hang from. I'm sure I'm going to have to move stuff, this way I can get to everything from the inside, and not compromise the light envelope.

I used aluminum 6" ell flashing for the uprights. I was trying to keep the bulk down. They're a little floppy, but once I attach the scrog frame to 'em, it'll be sturdy enough. The bottom 2x frame just keeps everything together. I held it off the floor 1 1/2" thinking I might get incoming some ventilation there. It's a light leak in some places. I'm gonna try lining that slot w/ something black, ala Papa Green's advice. We'll see?

Anyway. 2" sticky backed velcro every where. Whoa, that's some tenacious adhesion! 12mil reinforced crawl space liner for walls. Takes 2 people to get everything lined up right and tight. Ms Horse was a great helper, not even one fight!

All 4 walls are removable and/or roll-uppable. Takes a little time, but I've got plenty of that. The velcro should loosen up some, I hope, over time.

More to come.

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Great stuff! GL with the light baffle. Remember, when using passive cooling, some bends are your friend.

Great stuff. I love your crawlspace!

Happy Memorial Day and enjoy the BBQ and swimming!

Doode, stopping all light, and still venting is baffling. Flat black paint and hard ducting... then I gotta get it out!

I'm still vaca-ing... I love holidays :smokin:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

This morning, I told the girls i was taking them to the beauty parlor. They got suspicious when they saw a cooler full of Superthrive and H2O2. I never could get all the dirt out of the roots. I'm hoping I got enough, and that the trauma isn't life altering. I put a little lipstick on them, and they looked pretty good.

I told them I would take them to pool since Memorial Day is traditionally the opening around here.

I also got them another light to go with their new outfits... they don't really trust me at the moment. They're pretty sure I want something <G>

They're right, I want to get them into the bloom room. Think that Laker pool will motivate them?

And, one for DocBud... Drill and fill, ha be great line for a hempy growing dentist :grinjoint:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

I just read up till this point.....lookin' great!

:nicethread:

I see you drilled a hole in the damn bucket.....nice!

You won't regret it...the plants are going to go crazy now. You'll need to feed them more than just Big Bloom, however. I had good success with the other FF products, but I like Osmocote much better, not to mention it's about 100times cheaper.

Just like BP! I'm an Osmocoater, too :thankyou:

High Lavendar, thanks for dropping in. For my girls, the curling may have a lot to do with inexperience indoors... I sure do enjoy not being a tick host anymore, though <G>

I'm still trying to figure out the pH for the hempies... it's whole different world for me.

Hey, glad to see you're getting your garden happy. I put the final weaving in the ScrOG screen last night. Was thinking of your DH... hope you're keeping him well medicated after his surgery.

I'll put some more pics up this weekend. Later.

And, Clear X is on my list, :thankyou:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Start vegging with ph 5.6---5.8
Start flowering with ph 6.0 and raise up to 6.2 after week 5.

Easy.

Okay, thanks for that. My well water is around 6.8. I have some pH 4.01 solution, would I use that to lower their drinks, or is there something better and cheaper... ooops, I meant to say less expensive, sorry girls <G>

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Phillipino!?!? Were?

Hi Horse! Looks good to me. I get those curlse sometimes too on seedlings usually on the first two or three sets of leaves. I personally believe that its a slight over fertilization, but I really have no evidence to back it up. lol but after way too much thought over it, I decided to chalk it up to something so I wouldn't lose sleep. lol

I love the T5's man. those are cool lights for sure. Now that I found you I'll try to pop back. I'm thinking about utilizing my crawlspace too. Hmmm....

Take care man!! Grow Big & Grow Home!!

Thanks for crawling in JL. Yer right, the curlies are the least of my worries... I think I've banged my head on the drain pipes a few too many times. I'm having a tough time getting the pH balanced. I know what I want to do, just haven't figured out the how to do it part yet <G> :bongrip:

I've never used any kind of lights before, so I really don't have a lot to go on. The t5s are nice and cool, but seem to lack penetrating power. I think I stressed these girls pretty badly going from soil to perlite, very little growth in the past week, so time will tell.

I'll try to remember to snap some pics this evening for some more entertainment. :ganjamon:

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

Penetration. That's the deal with lights: lush on top, withered down below.
Power lights have a deeper 'sweet spot', but nothing like Ole Sol :cheesygrinsmiley:
If you need a hard-hat to crawl to your grow, your privacy is a Propa priority.
I've never grown cannabis under the sun! T5s can get it done. :rollit:
