Horse's Crawlspace Grow

.

Horse - you've got it goin' on dude! Finally got up to date with your thread. It really looks like you're doing a great job.:bravo:
The tent looks excellent (+Rep!). Can't wait to see how that works for you and how those babies progress!

DocBud's been trying to keep me on the straight and narrow (it's never been my strong suit :) )

Doc Bud needs to start doing ads for Dr. Pepper ;)

I really like the looks of the big chunky perlite you've got. The shops in my area don't carry anything but the relatively fine stuff and it's crazy expensive for them to order the #4 (would you believe $40 a bag!). I'll have to find a place to order it from if I try another hempy grow. At least I know plenty of things not to do now! (talking about the stupid crap I've done - you're doing great and your plants are showing it).

I think I paid 32 bucks for a 4 cu' bag? I could have filled at least 10 of those Trader Joe's rose pots. It's worth it to me. I'd hate to be lugging thoses pots outside with dirt in them![

And, the only way I seem to learn is by screwing up... again, and again, and again :bong:/COLOR]

I'll be tuned in here for sure!

Stop by anytime, shit will definitely be a poppin' :welcome:

Thanks for the reps :smokin: The tent is definitely experimental. I turned the big light (1000W) today, and the temp hit 90°. Dang. I'm going to try a 6" insulated flex duct, and see if that works.

I've got a couple of light leaks I can see from the outside, but none from the inside. I gotta find out how much is too much.

I'll also find out how tenacious the self stick velcro is under the heat gun.

hahaha, damn I'm bored. stuck inside to stay out of the heat. I go out and I'll wilt. I'm a 60-65 degree man myself. I bet it's nice and cool in the crawlspace........cool......ugh.

90° in the tent w/ the MH/HPS. 82° outside today! I'll be switching things around :)

Work has been nuts, so I haven't had the time to do much lately to really entertain you guys. Hmmm, I should take a lesson from that :grinjoint:

We're going out of town for the weekend, so there could be some fun when I get back.

Hi ho, hi ho it's off to work I go.

Later doode.

:peace:

too hot toooooohot. we need to get you down. That is a problem creating temp. Makes the plants eat funny. 95' max with Co2 at 12-1300PPM. a 1 degree drop is definatly good.......the more the marrier!

Yeah man, I'm shifting gears and putting the t5s in the tent, and use it for vegging.

The bloom room will be open with the 1000Wer. I gotta move the dehumidifier away some, and I'll try to get the temps around 80°... does that sound right?

Hey man, have a great 4th... blow something up for me!

:peace:

I had to toss 7 plants from last crop...little or no trichs from heat stress. You gotta get below 85°......

Ohhh, sorry to hear that. I'm pretty sure I can get below 85°, but I may have to make the girls iced teas :grinjoint:

I'm going to the coast for the 4th. I am hoping there's still some fresh softshells around... nonetheless, the will be some seafood grilling, and maybe an artichoke or 2 :smokin:

Happy holiday :peace:

Busy, busy, busy, gotta work when it's there, dang it!

The girls really have hit the res. Doc's 2-3 watering/feedings a day did the trick. I gave them a little Grow Big, H2O2, and tried to screw the whole thing up with Big Bloom... but it did make their little roots grow:)

Flushed out most of the Big Bloom, cleaned the guano out of the pool, shot them with azamax and neem. I also added some rosemary branches on top of the pots, since that's mostly what's in SNS-217(?)... can't hurt, right. I had seen a couple of tiny spiders. I am growing in a crawl space, I've got bugs... but I haven't seen any more little 8 leggers.

The tent turned out to be a torture chamber/sweat lodge with the 1000w MH/HPS. 90° empty. I added 6" ducting... 89.6°, whoo hoo!

2 Jack Herer clones upper, and a white widow. They joined the harem on Saturday.

The Jamaican Twins (unsexed), I'm hoping for boobs.

And, for the future hopes and dreams, scrog screen on screens... my girls are not selfish, they share their space :grinjoint:

I'm going away for the weekend, so the girls are going to party on their own. Plan is to fill the pool an inch over the hempy holes with pHed water. Water the clones and twins, and leave an inch in their tub. Am I screwing up? Better to just water heavy right before we leave, and not have them sitting in puddles?

Hey, hope everybody has a great 4th!

And, thanks for all the help... it's turned into a grow instead of a compost pile:cheertwo:

Lookin' good bro!

If you're going to be gone for 3 days, I'd water heavily about 15 minutes before you leave. You should be OK.

Place the smaller containers in a tub of water if you can, the larger ones should be OK. The main problem you're gonna have is heat. If it's that hot in there, you're gonna dry out after 3 days.

But....don't worry, even if they go 4 days, they'll perk up after watering. It's not best, but they won't die.

That's good to know. The high temps are in the closed up tent w/ the MH light on, the crawl space is 70-75° with the t5s, and my heavy breathing.

I am not gonna use the big light in that tent... the plans they are a changin' :)

Hey, it's an unbelievable 59° outside this morn... whoa!

Re: Horse's Crawlspace Grow.

High JasonLee,

Here's the ting, mon... I'm using well water. It's hard enough that we have to soften it for house use or it turns my delicates brown, leaves rings in the wc, and generally wreaks havoc with anything it touches. I can't find the last analysis, of course, but I'm pretty sure there's plenty of cal/mag/fe/manganese/and about any other mineral in that stuff.

I'm watering the girls with unfiltered, unsoftened straight from the well joy juice. Could there be too much of anything? I think I'm not giving them nearly enough with my stingy watering schedule, and that you're right about the cal/mag shortage.

I need to find that pH chart floating around here to see if I'm locking something necessary out with the pH.

Thanks doode, you guys are going to teach me this stuff in spite of myself!

:thankyou:

:peace:

PH depends on the strein grown.I think I read the rusian likes to start out with a low ph 5.8 then gradualy raise it.So far for soiless I keep ph as close to 6 as possible.Sometimes it will be 5.8 and I will let it rise no higher than 6.3.I am using complet line of fox farm with superthrive.I notice FF does lack in cal-mag but it may be just me.I also use well water ph of 6.8 and ppm of 200-300.I also purchased a reverse omni filter not the complet system but the last filter that is usually on the system for like 15 bucks.I riged a hook up to plug it directley to the end of the hose and it drops my ph pretty low. Also its a 0 ppm filter and I get a ppm of 50.I notice when I use the filtered water my ph drops instead of rises. What I have been doing is I do half filter water and half non filter from well.I use less ph up or down this way and ph and nutes seem to mix and react to the water better. But this also may be just me but in any case it seems to be working for me.Its realy important to keep a constant ph.............Ok I had to catch up and read a little further into your thread.Every thing seems to be looking great.Good job.A little slight adjustment for indoor but easy enouph.I hear yuh on them temps. That is quite a small space to run a high wattage unit with out good ventalation to the outside.Nice of your kids to be thinking about Pops.I think this is the only thing me and my pops can share and get along lol.He sure does like my toys I half to remind him sometimes that their mine lol but I usually give him what I am not using or somethings that work better for him than what works for me.He wouldnt do it for me lol but its nice we can share something Herb is a medicine of many forms:thumb:

Hey turttle, thanks for stopping in. I returned 4 of the tallest girls to the adoption agency... hope the boy will continue to hempy!

Now, I've got a little more room.

Got the HTG mother tent set up for the little children.

DSC07798.jpg

It's the only tent I've had, and I've only seen a Secret Jardin in the hydro store, so I have very limited experience... but it seems like a serviceable home. Sets up real easy, if you follow the directions :rasta:. The frame is sturdy enough to hold 2/ 24" 4 light t5s and a small fan.

The skin is pretty light proof, some small pinholes around stitching. The vent/electrical penetrations don't have sock/drawstring things to seal them, instead they have a small elastic band. They don't seal too well w/ irregular (dryer flex) duct, but it's fine with hard pipe connectors.

The zippers/flaps are a little cumbersome to work, but they do work, and seem like they're just good enough to last a while.

Any way, it was worth the 150 beans in setup time, fits great in the crawlspace, and I don't have to fiddle around getting it lightproof and vented.

With the reflector panels, temps in the cage are just under 85° at the canopy.
Is that okay?

The 1000w light is 3' above the canopy, right now. I'm thinking I will lower the light in 6" increments over the next few days until I'm 2' above the canopy. Does that seem right?

At this time, they have OC+ in the bottom of the pot, and at the top on the opposite side of the damnit hole. I'm also feeding 2tsp/gal of FF Grow Big, 8ml Hygrozyme/gal, and 1tsp/gal 29% H2O2. I've been watering every 3 days.

I forgot to Super Thrive them before they hit the big light, arrrgh, so next watering.

Am I doing okay here? Man I would appreciate any critique, advice, tips, or whatever :smokin::smokin::smokin:

Thanks :peace:

They look freakin' gorgeous! :goodjob:

If it was me, I'd stop the H202 unless it's needed for rot. That's highly unlikely.

Also, that's enough FF grow big to feed the plants on it's own. This will keep the OC+ from feeding properly, which means your micro nutes will be sparse. I'd decrease the amount of Grow Big.....or discontinue it altogether.

I haven't used any supplemental base nutes in my hempys.....there's no reason you should have to from what I can see.

On the other hand, your plants look great, so there's much to be said for not fixing it if it ain't broke! :Hookah:
