Grow Number 2 Malawi Gold

Day 45. December 4th. Flower Day 9. Grow tent Cam. Decided to do the bigger trim last night. Wanted a few days of recovery before the bucket change. Again… massive overnight growth. Will take more pictures when I get home.

Day 46. January 5th. Flower day 10. She gonna eat the grow tent camera! Gonna have to go ahead and move that up a bit when I get home. I added (a bit late) the other in-line fan pushing air into my tent. I just felt like it needed the extra air pushing in vs an open flap. It helped level out the humidity a bit. And since I was running it’s dark time during my day time I won’t have to worry about that open flap and light leaks anymore. Tomorrow change to flower nutrients.

Is it too late to put the net up? Should I just let her go free and be wild?
Unfortunately it would be difficult to install a net now.
I tie over the branches so she grows horizontal instead of up.
Might help a little.
She is a beast. :thumb:
Have a great day my friend.

Very impressive growth, good work!

To me it seemed easier then dirt just more up front cost. I built everything my self. Just bought the bucket with a lid, black hose, pump, air stone, net pot. Drilled some holes and slapped her together. Get some PH balanced water Add some nutrients and for me I added beneficial bacteria to fight off root rot and promote growth.

Lol I found this intriguing. It’s wild the differences in outlooks and perceptions we all can have. Soil seemed to me to be the easiest method with coco, hydro, and DWC all seeming progressively more difficult. The constant mixing of nutrients, PHing, and performing natural processes for the plants seemed like a pretty significant commitment.

However I do get your viewpoint. When you’re controlling every single aspect of the plants growth yourself you’re not really leaving anything to question. If you’ve got an issue you can with fair confidence diagnose what’s going on based on what you’ve done.

I love growing.. I think everyone should have to grow something for themselves just so people can be exposed to the reality that everyone is different and can approach things in different ways and still get good results. Can’t wait to see how you finish!

Thank you for the complement!

I’ve learned everyone is going to do something a bit different. At the end of the day just enjoy what you’re doing and go with your gut. For most of us this is supposed to be a fun hobby.

I really enjoy how I’ve set my grows up. So far I’ve added something new each time. I’m constantly learning especially here just reading old journals. You’re right though, I think I enjoy most being able to control many aspects of the grow. Knowing exactly what’s going into my water. I was able to quickly and confidently diagnose a deficiency early in this grow.

I completely agree everyone should take like a cultivation class in school. Plants are amazing. Fungus is even more amazing. The way trees talk to each other like family through their root systems. Nature is awesome.

Still looks like a happy jungle. :thumb:
Hope everything is going well.
Take care.

Wow she is filling that tent nicely. Looks like you have plenty of airflow and light penetration too. Have you thought about LST/supercropping those tall buds to put everything back at the same level?

Yeah those 4 corner branches really took off on me. I get nervous thinking about supercropping… isn’t that when you slightly break the branch? I didn’t raise the light like i normally do about every other day right now. I’m hoping to let this other branches kinda sit in that sweet spot for an extra day. Maybe they’ll catch up?

No need to "break" the branches, just gently tie them down...
