Greenislands grow journal 09' #2

Yeah Mr Smith thats funny you say that because the setup that I will be using with my modified newer ebb and gro 5 gallon setup witll be under 2 1000watt Lumatek dimmables on a light rail 3.5 hooked up to a slave rail which is almost exactlty what you said you were going to be doing right? It will be nice to see how your ebb and gro setup grows up through time, next to mine which will be running a nearly identical setup. Im intersted to see the differences that we have from my garden to yours. Are you going to be injecting your room with CO2? Either way i look forward to seeing the room in action!

you and pit are an insperation. I've been showing my wife your and pits grow with the ebb-n-gro and it looks like shes pretty impressed, so i'm prettty sure here soon it will be time to start building the bigger room. What are your dimensions if you dont mind me asking?I got to get pits as well so i can get an idea on what your working with.

Right now the dimentions of the room for this journal are 12' x 5'6". However the actual room dedicated to this is 16'x14' (not including the dedicated bathroom). That does include a 4'x14' "clean room" where I can go through first then change clothes as to not bring any contaminants in the room. The room that is closed off with panda filmed you see is just one of two rooms that will be filling this rather large room. Both rooms are identical in size and shape, however one is running the original ebb and gro set with 3-600watt quantum dimmables, utilizing 10 buckets. And the other room will have 2-1000watt Lumatek dimmables on a lightrail and will be using the new upgraded 5 gallon ebb and gro TEK (links in my signature). The second enclosed poly room is NOT done being built yet. I am waiting for the equipment to arrive at my local hydro store so I can finish the ebb and gro unit as well as the ballasts and lightrails installation and then last the poly and zippers and ventilation etc. I hope for this to be done within the next 2-3 weeks. Everything else besides that second Panda Film! room have already been built and finished. So to break it down I have a 12' x 14' room, that holds 2 rooms inside of it (sectioned off poly rooms that is, not full on drywalled "rooms") that are 12' x 5'6" witch leaves me 3 ft between the rooms to walk down towards the clean room which is 4' x12' and always has a second set of clean pullover clothes (you know for like biohazard stuff). And then on top of all that I have a dedicated bathroom thats about 8'x 14' that I use to clean everything in store nutrients in etc. The jakuzzi tub makes it real easy for cleaning all sorts of things and if that doesnt work I just use the walk in shower. All of this is entirely dedicated to my gardening. I know this may seem extensive or even obbsessive (which it probably is:winkyface:) for someone growing medicine for just him and his girl but keep in mind I grow many many many other things such as basil, tomatoes, other vegetables herbs, medicinal mushrooms, gourmet mushrooms and a lot lot more. So in my house,as the saying goes plants come first, people come second:ganjamon:. Everything I do is based around growing something. So to devote this much room to growing things was much more out of necessity than just desire. I will try and upload a picture so you can see my layout. lol...as a matter of fact I layout gardens for a living so this should be rather easy! lol. Hope that healped butcher, and your compliments are very much appreciated. thank you, I really do put my heart into these plants and these journals and TEKs as well. Thank you everyone. These journals make me feel like Im leaving something important behind for everyone to learn from, and I just love that feeling.:ganjamon:
Its not quite to spec but it gives you the jist of my layout. Hope this helps!

Its great to see people like you so dedicated and meticulous in their growing, it inspires the rest of us to follow in you:passitleft:

I dig the drawing by the way, gave me a good idea of whats going on:roorrip:

man you're response is exactly what i needed..This will make things so much easier to go off of.THANK YOU SOOO MUCH G.I.You just took a huge weight off my shoulders. I to grow other herbs and veg's too. At the moment i'm building a lil set up for my wife she loves sunflowers, so i'm doing a small dwc for our kitchen, my fam has always known that i grow my veg's n herbs(this being outside) so they wont ask any questions.

I like to use coveralls, oyu can get them cheap at any paint or hardware store.(just a suggestion)

Your D.I.Y blueprints are perfect.Thanx again i cant tell you that enough

Greenie -

What you are doing, is not so much a working grow setup, as a working grow piece of art, meticulous in preparation and bewildering in its simplistic operation!!

If you dont put your hand up for a position as grow support on 420mag, then I will have to nominate you!

Why thank you for those kind words DGMGH. And yes I have thought about such a thing. Life is busy these days though so Im just not sure if I would have the time I would need to have to devote for such a position here. And I havent been here long enough either. I dunno, well see. But like I said, thanks for the kind words man, much appreciated

I love to see this type of planning. If you've read my journal you know I'm all about the details.

I love reading your thoughts and look forward to sharing ideas with you down the road. I'd like to burn a bowl with you sometime and share ideas. Maybe someday before we die, the laws will allow it.

You grow some gorgeous plants. I was telling my Wife the other day that it's almost unfair when you enter the POM contests.

...and you're right..these journals DO leave something behind for others to learn from. I owe everything I know to a special friend that frequents a few forums just like this one so I wanted to pass it on as he had done for me.

Peace and Harmony
:peace:

God, I love that show! Why couldnt he have gotten his own show and instead of Cleveland? Crazy, never would have seen that coming. Anyhow, thx for visiting wheel o fortune! I read your journals all the time, Im actually working on several patents that work with ummm, rotating gardens, or round gardens I guess you could say. You do nice work man!

thanks bro.

when i have space (my own house) i am thinking of building some non-rotating round gardens in the basement. lol, vert style. same bene's of light distribution, with less moving parts.

keep on thinking new thoughts man. it will keep you young.
