Colorful Sunset Sherbet Clones DWC

Im gonna explore some options on bringing the rh down. The real issue is just the level of humidity in the outside air here. Been fighting it ever since we got here. I have more fans to add, just wanted to canopy to fill in first before moving everything around again.

Nah no tucking again. Just letting them stretch on their own for a little while before we add the second screen. They have definitely started stretching but it isn't too noticeable yet. :yummy:

Gotcha. Yeah the air humidity here is maybe even worse than where you are cuz we're maybe closer to the water? It was tough last year as my first grow was last summer. 100 degree days where my garage at that house was 105 degrees. It was a battle for sure. This time of year it's pretty good here in that regard. Way too humid overnight, but that one is easy for me.

It very well could be. We still haven't figured out the secret to comfort in this hot/humid place lol. But anywhere in this state is gonna be too high for these little ladies IMO.

Thankfully, being a bag seed from a local dispensary I would like to hope the genetics chosen have taken the local humidity into consideration. She handled the abnormally high humidity very well last round. and we didn't defol at all :high-five:

I knew nothing of defoliation the first time, and I had a jungle in my tent. I agree, my bagseeds I thought the same about. And those plants handled it pretty well from what I could tell. They didn't die. Lol. I tried my best but I just couldn't kill them. Heh.
@Jon , SCROG is simple. Build a net just like Michael Hunt has and as the plant grows you tuck everything under the net and spread it out. Every new growth that pokes up you keep tucking and spreading. After a few weeks your net will be around 75% full. Flip to flower, continue to tuck for a week or two through the stretch, let them grow up through your holes for about a week through the end of stretch so you have nice colas sticking up in each hole. Cut every thing under the net thats not on the canopy top, and you have a perfect flat top of nothing but colas. All even and they will all be the same size. It just maximizes light to the coals and keeps everything even. Its works good as long as you can keep humidity low if you pack them tight. This is a good method to pull 1lb+ from a single plant if you have the wattage.

Here is a two plant scrog I did in the past:

I can't stop looking at this gorgeous scrog. SO MANY buds. Did you have every hole filled on that screen? How much manipulation of branches and such did it take to get to that level of evenness? That is astounding, man. I'm thinking I should start training the girls now, while they're still in the ones for a few more days, just to get the spread started. I was gonna wait til they were in the fives to start LST. Did you do all the manipulation at the screen level, or did you start spreading out branches and trying to create more budsites when the growth was significantly below screen level? Do you know what the yield was from this?

Nothing too exciting over here to report. The girls are plugging away at taking up as much space in the tent as possible. And i’m still trying to reign them in.

The stretch seems to have set in MUCH faster this time around. Maybe this has something to do with starting from clone? They had pistils long before 12/12 so they’ve been “mature” for a while now.

Temps are around 72* light on and 63-65* lights out. Res temps are stable in the mid 60’s. Our res thermometer keeps readying 66.6* when i check it o_O Not sure what its trying to say here lol.

And last but not least a nice green leaf in regular light so you can see just how deep green they are.

Thats all for now folks! Happy Monday everyone :high-five::passitleft:

Gorgeous, man. Great job.

Drew up a little diagram of our tiny crammed closet/grow space. The system is completely dialed in by now. Only things it needs at this point would be automated ph monitoring/dosing and maybe more insulation on the ac exhaust ducting to get the temps down a little further.

Last night was also a res change. Finally finished the "transition" faze of the feed chart and now onto "Early Flower". Going full send with the sweetener and purpinator. They even got their first dose of Liquid Koolbloom. All of our GH nutes are at 3/4 strength now (except for LKB). Calmag still at 2ml/gal, purpinator is at 3.5ml/gal, H2O2 is at 3.5ml/gal. They should be getting the hint now ;) Time to party :slide:

Plant abuse... I can't bear to watch. :laughtwo:

Just teasing... great job on bringing her back. I'll take some time to catch up.
Welcome in @Diatomacious :welcome:

She was in a rough state haha. All we needed her for was to stay alive long enough to pull some clones for the current grow while the space was being built. She served her purpose well, and has been dried / reduced to cat food :D

Short update with a picture of the girls. Added a second fan blowing up from under the canopy to get the air moving a little more. They are also starting to show pistils up in the tops on all 4. They clearly got the message yesterday ;)

ph: 6.0
Ppm: ???
water temp 67*
Air temp: 72
Rh: 61%

Not to shabby :high-five:

Super sweet. Nice even canopy. That looks so good dude. Can't wait to see the buds. Bet you did need some more air from underneath. Lol. I'll be so psyched if my canopy turns out looking anything close to that.

Imma pull a seat hope you dont mind but I also have a similar set up I'm in flower on a strain called Critical Widow(w7d2) fem photo. I also recommend air infinity which I use as well lovely ventilation set up for any kind of tent or room. Beautiful and super clean set up also bro sweet canopy spead shhhesshh I can see end of flower now(i got to work on that canopy spead like you man)but heres a pic of my CW enjoy✌ps..2 out of 5 in a 5×4 gonna expand after this harvest.

Hey Redrum - Damn, those buds are no slouches. They look great! Looks like a fat harvest and man do they look healthy. That's great work.

Thanks @Jon we really appreciate that man. I wonder sometimes if anyone is actually seeing these entries :high-five: Yours is gonna look awesome with all that variety!

Welcome in @Red215rum glad to have you along for the ride. Man do those buds look frosty! Ive been thinking real hard about one of the “critical” varieties out there. They all just seem to get so frosty :drool:Thanks for the kind words man, we truly appreciate it:thanks:

Made a discovery today digging through a box of old equipment stashed away in the shed. One 400W Digital Lumatek Digital ballast and a 400W Hortilux HPS bulb. I know these ballasts have been out of production for quite a few years now. It's one of the purple ones if anyone has been around long enough to remember those. From what i remember the ballast and bulb only have about 6 months of use on them at most. We would still need a reflector but a cooltube should fit the bill nicely.

So now the gears are turning. We've started week 2 of 12/12 on Monday. The current TSW2000 pulls around 310w at the wall. This set up would obviously pull a full 400w and probably produce more light. The additional heat is not a concern.

Does anyone think this would be a worth while change? The flowering fun has just started so i figure if we're gonna go brighter, now's the time to do it.

Interesting. Nice find. I go LED so no help here. But on my end, I realized my issue today. Cuz this morning I noticed the supposed nute burn I inflicted on the girls was STILL progressing a little bit. On the one girl. The one I've been worried about. Well I realized this is also my tallest plant, significantly so. And then I looked at my light, which I have never used before this grow. And then I went online and looked for the 100th time at symptoms of too much light. Sure enough, that's the issue. There's just no possible way that ONE application of nutes too hard would not be worked out by all the plants by now and after two flushes. Impossible. Once I started actually absorbing the light burn material it became obvious. So I raised the light. I also have a lux/par meter. I had been blasting them with around 1100 par and around 65,000 lux. Four of the five took it okay. The tallest plant has not. After raising the lights they are now getting a more humane 35000-40000 lux, ie, around 650 - 700 par. All of them should start to take off now. And I should see no further progression of light burn. Now I'm at the low end of the veg light (book says 30000 - 70000 lux for veg), but I can see by looking that it's way more than enough.

So the lessons I learned are a couple things:
- Err on the low side with light, just like with nutes, stop being a cowboy and treat your plants more gently
- Nutrient issues and light burn issues can look like very much the same thing
- This can be especially problematic if you just by chance have a nute issue you created at the same time as the light issue and it can be more difficult to diagnose
- Light overabundance issues do not show themselves as immediately as over nute-ing situations, they can take days or more than a week to show up

The push push push philosophy has been adjusted.

Thanks for the reply man. While i agree in theory, my previous experience tells me otherwise. I've ran a "1100W HPS" in a smaller square footage than this tent before with nothing more than a little bleaching on the tallest of buds. With light heights being under 18" at that. It may have something to do with the medium we're growing in vs yours. I'm pretty sure in hydro, nutrient/water uptake is significantly increased which may have something to do with the amount of light the plants are trying to process. I really don't know for sure. But i HAVE most definitely used a light over 3x the wattage of this one in a smaller square footage.

edit: After reading again, the biggest factor here is oxygen in the root system. Hydro has a significantly higher concentration of oxygen available to the roots as does soil.
