Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

I just want to be sure of what I’m doing and that I understand the task at hand. I must say pruning is another area I struggle in Bc I’m just not sure on what and what not to take and how much is too much. So, what I trying to do is take off all the small growth on the lower part of the plant, like say maybe 2-3 inches tall. Growing on the outside/inside of the plant, that’ll probably never get the light it needs to thrive and produce proper buds. They will most likely do the opposite and take energy for basically nothing but lil airy popcorn buds and no bueno, trust me, I should know lol well at least now I know what I don’t want, story of my life lol
When pruning, should I leave most of the leaves and just take the branch it’s growing with? My first grow I would do the opposite or take it all. I was really, really heavy handed when it came to pruning. I went totally overboard, oooh my poor lil babies, don’t worry mommy’s learned her lesson lol

Ps. Is there harm in pruning in the evening before lights out? Lights out are at 9pm, mountain standard

The first pic is I was planning on lollipoping to where the arrow’s are.
And the second is showing all the little growth I’m wondering if I need to remove or not?
The third pic is of the size of clone I plan on taking.

Exactly! Anything that won't reach the canopy can go.

As long as you have good airflow underneath, take the branches and leave the fans adjoining them.

None. Prune when it's convenient.

I would thin up to 2-3" above the first cage ring!

I would take off anything growing on the lower third of the plant completely, and then take the branches (leaving the fans) on the next third, leaving the top third alone until 3 weeks post-flip. That's how I do it because I like my flowers up high on the plant and I hate trimming larfy buds down below.

I think you have a handle on cloning after seeing these plants, don't you? :cheesygrinsmiley:

But I usually keep at least 4 or 5 cuttings when I thin of different sizes from different locations to make clones.

Lol, yeah I guess so. But I can only take credit for the one clone I started from cut. The clones I took the first time were not even half that size in the pic. Omg they were soooo small like 2-3 inches Bc I didn’t want to take the “good” ones. SMH

Ok yeah, I plan on keeping at least 2 clones from each plant. I can probably keep 7 clones with 2 lights and 2 tents, next time around, So that’s exciting. :thumb:

Ok I get it! :yahoo:
Would 3wks post flip be the last time pruning?

I’m so proud of you ladybird.

This forum is such a fabulous place. I just love the fact us newbies seem to find the exact mentor we need.

Shed must feel quite chuffed to have been able to guide you which has resulted in such a spectacular example of improvement when it comes to growing.

Maybe one day we will be able to be the grasshopper when it comes to imparting grow knowledge :)
Hey girl hey, thank you so much Trala!! :) I really do appreciate the kind words. I’ve been trying real hard behind the scenes to make sure they have their very best shot at thriving, just like I did my with my first grow. it’s just that the knowledge never really clicked the first time. Lol…Mostly when it came to the canopy, one of the most important parts of the entire operation.
I’ll have to admit, I am a little shook at how beautiful their looking! :Namaste:

I am in the same boat as you. I thought I grew ok till I joined this forum. Every grow I get that bit better. I have had to buy more jars today as I’m fast running out of places to store my bud. Lol

I work hard to get my canopy as level as I can with training. Because I’m outdoors and indoors it never looks as level as yours. I managed to rip my mimosa’s hand off so she is looking very skewif.

Where abouts in this fabulous world are you from? I’m guessing American.

@420giirl I'm willing to admit that my second cycle starting out didn't look as nice as yours does, and I probably didn't get there until run 4-5 where I felt I had a good grasp of basic technique. Your doing great and it will get better from here as you keep learning!

Ok so lights have shipped as of 3am and are in transit as we speak. I’ll be watering today, taking clones and cleaning them up for their 12/12 official debut. Yes ma’am….. :nervous-guy:

lights are here, they just arrived. Let’s see how can I do this? Is it ok to set the inline/exhaust fan on the outside of the tent? Do I really need the fan if I’m not concerned of the smell? It might also help with bringing the humidity down but I’m not sure.
Guess I’ll be taking everything out of the tent and re-doing it.
I’m actually really excited about this Bc I hate the messy look I’m was going for lol I need it to be nice and neat please! :Namaste:

Omggggggg

Your grow looks so fabulous!

But girl you need to sort all those cords. Get some zippy ties and neaten them up. You can’t have perfection going on down low and a train wreck going on above it. It makes as much sense as having neat a bikini wax but choosing not to brush your hair. My OCDness won’t allow it lollllll

:) :) :)

Congrats! If you don't care about the smell you don't need the filter (if there is one), and you can move the fan outside to create headroom.

Make sure you start with the light up high and see how the plants react. Additional light can cause light stress quickly if you don't break the plants in gradually.
Oh ok, so I don’t need the filter. ok, Bc it’s actually outside the tent. cool, I guess I got confused on which one it was I don’t really need. As for the light I’ll have to do a little research at which percentage I should start them at.

Girl omg lmao I’m so dead rn the struggle is real! :battingeyelashes: It all coming down!!

I'd start them at the same wattage they're currently under and then lower the light over the course of a week. Watch the top leaves for stress.
Ok, I wasn’t sure if 100% was going to be higher in wattage on the 300w then at 100% on a 100w led light. If that even makes sense lol

Ok all done….wow now those are lights I’m shook at how bright they are.
Now I have a tent for clones and a tent for flower. Next upgrade will be my tent, that my I can have a veg tent and a flower tent or something like that. But for now I’m all set! :snowboating:

They all seem to have adjusted to the light @ 100%. They seem to be reaching for the light, is this a sign to lower the light or that it’s good where it is?
