Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

When using perlite how many times a day should I mist them? The humidity is only at 25% and the temperature is 91f. The humidifier I was using broke today.

I would save anything you're trimming off, and feel free to stick 2 or 3 in each cup. I think you can skip the clonex, and I put a hole in the cup an inch up to make sure I know where the water line really is. Then I just hold the cutting on the outside of the cup with my thumb at the rim and the bottom just above the hole, and that's how far I sink it into the perlite. Also makes it easy to add water when it dries out since the excess drains out of the hole.

Might want to make the stems a little shorter as well.

Is 10% on in yhe 100 watts still too much? I have the t8 light should I use that for now?
I'd raise the light as it's hard to believe that's only 10 watts in that pic!

That's pretty dry! I don't use one but at that RH maybe a clear dome with holes in it so it doesn't make it too moist in there.

For now I put the light up higher and is at 10%. I’ll give them until this weekend. Monday will be the start of the second week of bloom. I think that gives me plenty of time to clone again if all else fails this round. New Mexico is so dry, humidity has to be my main struggle!!

Ps. I want to make them their own grow journal but forgot where to go to do so lol

Why not keep it all in one place, especially since it's the same varieties of plants?

If you want to start a new journal, go here:

Personally I would just ask the mods to change the name on this one to take out the word "beginning." It already says "perpetual"!

Changed the light to 10%.
Raised the light.
Placed misted dome on top.
Misting several times a day.
24/7 led light .

:high-five:

Ok, I would much rather keep it here, Bc it is basically the same grow. I just wasn’t sure and was waiting for a response from the journal in progress thread. Now my last grow that was an entirely different grow with the exception of the one future hybrid strain I was successful in cloning. That grow journal should stay separate. Thanks again for all the info! :thumb:

That’s Bc it was at, I think 50% in the pic. I hadn’t changed it just yet.. good eye btw :)

I'm pretty sure you don't need to mist again at all since the holes are small in that lid. You may want to put a hygrometer in there and see if you can keep the RH in the 60s. Take the dome off if it gets higher and put it back on after it airs out.
Ok, I checked the RH just now hoping it went up but it was only at 33%.
The hydrometer is hiding in the corner, the light was in the way in the other pictures.
I turned on the heater, that usually helps the humidity in the tent rise.
I’ll have to get another humidifier in the meanwhile.

I got a little confused Bc I was thinking since they were clones they could handle the same light they were once under. But then I remembered reading somewhere that it’s not until they have roots, that the need more light.
It’s like once I get used to growing one cycle it’s time to change gears. I haven’t done it enough times to retain all the information on each cycle lol cloneing, vegging then bloom, harvest and curing. It’s a little overwhelming TBH
But I got this!! and I guess that’s why we journal lol

Sorry, I meant put a meter in with the cups. Doesn't matter what it is in the tent.
Oh, like the one I used for curing. Oh that’s easy lol
I have a few I’ll add one rn

If the RH is really high the cuttings will get all their moisture from the leaves and never bother growing roots.
The dome seemed to do the trick for now. The meter is at 67%, so I removed the dome but it dropped way to quickly. How high RH would be too high?

Clone update….all 9 are lookin mighty fine!
I added a humidity dome Bc without it the RH was below 30%. With the dome I was able to keep it in the 60’s, 70% at the highest. I noticed they love it super warm like 90f and once I got the heat up they really perked up. Now I’m thinking I should get a heating mat in there.
Today I put the tray of clones on top of a table inside a 2x2 grow tent. So now they’re in the middle instead of on the floor.
I was able to remove the dome with the humidity around about 70%.
I sprayed the outside of the solo cups and the tray to create moisture. I’ll only do this as needed to maintain the humidity. Otherwise it’s just way too dry in there for their liking.
They’re all looking so fabulous!!!@InTheShed and @420, saved the day!

:thanks:

Bloom update on all the proud lil mommies ;)
We are currently at the beginning of the second week (7days) bloom and I can tell they stretched overnight. I watered with nutrients yesterday. I also gave them a drink of water before and after I lollipoped and took my clones. Then I watered with nutrients adding big data this time around. Now they are using all 6 nutrients.
Next week I’ll switch up my watering from when they’re all almost completely dry, to watering every 3 days.
This keeps them wet/moist at the bottom and dry on top to half way down. Just another thing I failed to do the first time around. I’m excited to see the difference.
I’ve learned so much from my first grow and now I get to practice what I learned and keep learning. :green_heart:
