Clones In Soil: Hybrid Perpetual Grow 2021/2022

Wow they stretched soooo much!!! Is it ok to keep super cropping when they are in bloom?

I’m debating weather or not I should do some more defoliation or if I should just let them grow. I keep getting conflicting responses. I feel like i did too much defoliation on my first grow, so now I’m scared of taking too much or that I just don’t have enough knowledge to know what to take and what not to take. It’s a dilemma at the moment o_O

I just went in and tucked all the huge leaves away the best I could. I just don’t feel right taking the fan leaves off. Some people say take them others say no way! I have to agree with the no way comparing my first grow. and since I’m trying to do everything I didn’t do right. I’ll go with tucking…for now. :)

Yes, up to a point near the end, but I would wait for stretch to be over before

I wouldn't touch them until 3 weeks after flip. That's about when stretch is completed and you can do whatever additional thinning done then.

Personally, I wouldn't take any more fan leaves at all, and just take off any weak branches that haven't made the canopy when stretch is finished. That way the plant won't waste energy making buds on those and will send it's growth hormones to the top flowers.

Clone Update…

Looks like I’ll have at least one thriver from each set of cuttings I took, which is all I need. Holy cow, could this mean what I think it means.?? I started next geno all by myself, meaning I didn’t have to go down to the local dispensary and buy a couple..Woot, woot… I’m so excited for the next geno. Then maybe I’ll feel comfortable enough to start from seed!!!

Ps. Added water today. All of them were all dried out. I have them in clear solo cup’s inside the red cups so I’m able to see the water exactly where it is or isn’t.

Ok, I got it! Well almost, I’m getting confused with budsites and new branches/growth and what not to remove. I see new branches coming in towards the top we’ll actually all over the plant. Here are some examples to help me explain.

In the 1st pic the branches are about 2 inches give or take. Is this a bud site, should I remove these or leave them?
The 2nd pic, the branches are a lot smaller are these the ones I take or are they also bud sites?
3rd pic shows the branches on the sides that I plan on taking after the 2 week stretch if they don’t make the cut.

Ps. I had to get out my grow bible again, maybe I’ll understand better this time lol

Well done! I usually wait at least two weeks before floating the perlite to check for root bumps. Like I mentioned, it's not the fastest method but it sure is the easiest!
Thanks shed! Ok, floating the perlite does this mean filling up the cup with water all the way to the top? I was wondering how I would get them into soil without damaging the roots. but I didn’t want to get ahead of myself. I’ve always heard something about curiosity killing the cat, idk… bc I ain’t dead yet lol ;)

Actually, all of your arrows are pointing to lower growth at various stages of development. And after the 3 week stretch ( ;) ) you can pick and choose which ones stay and which ones go.

When you decide to cut one off though, leave the adjoining fan leaves like this:

It takes longer to thin that way but it's much better for the plant.

Exactly!

Perfect! I think I understand now. If I decide to take those branches leaving the fan leaves, will buds still come through in the same spot?

Ps. Have you ever considered writing a grow guide/book for beginners? Just curious bc you’re a great teacher!

Update… we are currently at the end of week 2 of flower. They’re all looking fantastic!
Hi @Emilya!! I’m going to start giving the girls water every 3 days, with nutes every other water. And I was wondering if I should keep their feeding schedule the same? My concern is they might get too much @Prescription Blend nutrients?

equipment update…. Installed an intake fan at the bottom of the tent. I had to put a nylon over the end of the duct so it wouldn’t suck everything else in and blow it right into my plants. oh, that would be a huge, no bueno! Lol
I’ve also been rising the power of the light. I’m currently at 45% of 300w, adding 5% every other day. Does this sound right @Graytail ?

Ps. Wish I knew more Spanish then that! Lol

Your plants look great! water/nutes/water/nutes is the way to run soil. This allows the plants to use up the extra nutes given on the first pass, and clean up the soil so it is ready to hold more nutes, every other time. The dosage that your plants are getting, should be indicated on the Prescription Blend feeding chart and shouldn't be telling you to give too much. Since things are working so well at the current time, what is making you suddenly think that you might be overfeeding them?

Keep feeding your girls! Alternating water-feed is fine... and in some cases a water-feed-feed rotation can be used if they want more.

One observation I wanted to pass on is about your fan, if its blowing on the side of one of the fabric pots it could dry out that side of the pot faster then the rest. If the fan is not on all the time or if it doesn't blow to hard then this probably wont be an issue... just keep an eye on it. If you do see that the fan is drying out that side of the pot you can slide a piece of cardboard between the fan and pot just to keep the direct airflow off the fabric pot.

Hi @Emilya, idk..I was thinking they would be getting fed more by watering every 3 days. I was just making sure I wouldn’t start over feeding them. And making sure I didn’t miss anything. Another question, I noticed that they probably could have taken water yesterday, which would be 2 days, would this be ok? They are looking a little droopy today (3rd day). Im thinking it’s the intake fan drying them out a lot faster than before.
