Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Happy Monday!
Time for another update...
The plants are doing well this week-Purple Punch is flowering and stretching, and the GDPxGB is just starting to show some pre flowers.
Here's a view from the top,Purple Punch is on the right...
1.jpg

The GDPxGB only grew 1/2 an inch this week, but has gotten considerably wider than she was last Monday...but the PP has grown 9 inches in 7 days...14" tall now,and still growing

2.jpg

The PP needs water every other day now,so she is getting
1 gallon, plus 6 grams Mega Crop every 48 hours- she seems to be loving it so far
no burnt leaf tips or anything. (yet)

And,back by popular demand, a silhouette shot of the PP,now that she's taller...
37 days old, flowering since apx. day 26
3.jpg

And the GDPxGB is 31 days old today, still being tied down,so almost no real upward growth
this week-I hope she starts flowering pretty soon so I can let her grow up instead of out.
(The date on the pot is when she was transplanted into the 3 gallon)

4.jpg

Here's one last shot of the PP-she's growing real fast,so If I'm going to run out of room in the box, it's probably going to happen within the next 3 or 4 days...when/if she hits that 2 foot mark,it'll be time to "raise the roof"

5.jpg

and one of her little "just starting" buds...
6.JPG

Enough about those girls- lets take a look a MsCheese-She's not growing any taller now, just working on them buds... (still 47" tall)
7.JPG

It's been in the high 80's/low 90's all last week, and the hot weather
doesn't bother her a bit..
8.JPG

She's getting watered every 3 days now-14 grams MegaCrop to 2 gallons water-you can see there's some yellow leaves in there, but that's just the original fan leaves that have been on her since day 1- (she went into the ground on 7/9, at 5 days from sprout) so those leaves have served her well, but she's done with them and they're falling off.

I don't really know how long she's been flowering-I saw the first preflowers on 8/5,then she stretched about 2 feet, then the real flowers showed up- so I'll just split the difference and say shes been flowering for 3 weeks....the time doesn't really matter-when the trichomes say shes done, she's done.

Here's the main bud,stacking up nicely,but a long ways to go -
(that's just an ant on the leaf)

10.JPG

And this is a typical branch (there's about 24 of these)
9.jpg

She's doing pretty well, considering she only gets 6 hours of direct sun a day now.

So that's about it for today-
I'll post some pics of any mods I need to do on the box when/if I run out of room.

These plants are so different- the PP is flexible, skinny and a little spindly, and the GDPxGB is
just the opposite-hard,fat branches, and just a "stout" plant in comparison-but she's not stretching yet,so that may change...

Thanks for looking-I really appreciate the support, and hope to see you back here in about a week!
Thanks again :peace:

Yea McCheese, I knew she was going to be a producer. :thumb:

On another subject, so after I roll, pinch and bend, do I tie them down when they start looking up again?

Depends on where the branch is on the plant and what stage of growth they're in! I don't think I would supercrop more than once in flower unless I had a serious runaway. In veg you keep bending and tying until you have the canopy you desire.

But if you have one of those bends that won't stay flat, I hang a weighted paper clip from the branch to keep it level.

Thanks Shed, the canopy is good to go, but she's stretching herself out of the tent. Flipped them two last Friday, now their reaching for the stars.
I can't cut the top off my tent. Lol

I hope the weather hold for Ms Cheese,
Me too-I'm really not liking the foggy nights/mornings....I know she's got at least a month to go,maybe even more...hell,I might be harvesting on my birthday..(Nov.5)
Wow awesome grow for a budget grow!
Thanks,Flagg- I just looked at your journal-looks like you're off to a great start!
so after I roll, pinch and bend, do I tie them down when they start looking up again?
You could, because some of them won't want to stay bent-they'll all keep trying to grow upward, though,so you may have to bend them in more than one place.

In veg you keep bending and tying until you have the canopy you desire.
The problem is,is that until she started flowering there wasn't anything to bend,so I had to do it after she started flowering...

Tie wide! Carcass just won't because he likes to move his plants around. Crazy I know ;).

Hummmm, I'm willing to give it a shot. I too like to move (turn) them around during watering though. Thank you maybe I can figure a out. (wheel's turning) emoji. :high-five:
I need a big lazy Susan.

he likes to move his plants around.
I'm going to try and have it both ways... I have a plan :)
I definitely need to widen the PP -the other one seems to be widening herself,so she may be ok as-is

How could I build a big turntable that would support the weight so I could drill holes into it and tie down. Hummmm.

Wow, Ms.Cheese is going to really put out for you!!! Just caught up and loved the big bolder. It reminded me of a time that my grandad were out hunting arrowheads and I found this giant grinding stone (metate) that weighed about 70 lbs. I could tell how bad my grandad wanted it and thankfully I was still in my early 20's so I carried that big ole thing the half mile up and down canyons back to the truck.

How could I build a big turntable that would support the weight so I could drill holes into it and tie down. Hummmm.
Here's what I'm going to try-a 20" dowel hot glued to the top edge of the pot,I can add more if I need to,but it's working the way it is right now-tighten the ties a little every day,and in a few days-bam! wide plant! :) it's already 8" wider than it was this morning...
wider.jpg

wider2.jpg

It's ugly, but it seems to work-and once the plant is wide enough,I can probably remove it.

They sell "garden swivels"on amazon,@John Wick -like a big turntable for your plant-some are only $10.00,with a 150lb capacity.

Hot glue vs the branches...
As spindly as those branches are,I considered just using tape...
It's a lot more hi-tech than it appears-that's a carbon fiber dowel :)
(actually a broken arrow shaft)

Plants are looking great carcass! No doubt! :yahoo:

Lots of growth! I love how fast an auto’s cycle moves. Got me thinking I will try some autos down the road!

I’ve got my next grow lined up, as of today. Their photoperiod, so It’s engraved in stone what my next grow is. :yahoo:

MS.Cheese is looking tremendous! 40 is getting pretty cold! Let’s hope for the Warmer dry spell!

Keep up the mediocre work Carcass!!

 Just playing around buddy! Great job!!

Still waiting patiently for the day you raise the roof on that crafty box of yours! ;)

Lol the way you’ve been handling grows in the box! It’s not necessary! Unless I twisted your rubber arm! :yahoo:

All fired in here Cass. looking good on the girls too. spreading out nicely now too. love the pioneering with the arrow shaft.lol
we do some shit in these grows to get through heehee. i balance fans on boxes and anything that looks sturdy enough to hold them ( for the few mins it takes me to leave the tent!!!). I have come back to many disasters with fan blades hacking branches off , burning out from falls and not being able to turn ( how i haven't had a fire yet is beyond me!!!) but my best yet is 150 litres of water from a water butt falling off my makeshift stand !!! , cascading through our upstairs ceilings creating an actual flowing waterfall onto our bed as it found its way between the plaster board . this dripped for two days as i couldnt get under the boards to soak any up.lol
its in my dwc journal here. bodging bastards have me as a poster boy. heehee
keep up the good work

Seeds!
On purpose,though-about a week ago, I pollinated this one bud on MsCheese with pollen harvested from the big male plant that was growing in her spot 3 or 4 months
ago,and it worked!
seeded ms cheese.jpg

You've seen MsCheese, and here's the proud poppa (pollen donor) a few months back:

That's all- I just got a little tickled when I saw the seed pods :)
