Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Just a pic of what MsCheese is dealing with today-
It's 105f in the shade out where she lives:

The @SeedsMan website says Cheese does well in warmer weather, and she's handling it just fine- a lot better than I am,actually :)

That's all for today-I was just a little surprised she's not wilting
out there.
I watered her yesterday,so maybe that helped...

Thanks for looking :peace:
See you back in here on Monday!

Ms.cheese is flower yeah?

I wonder how far along she is in the initial stretch.. will Mrs.Carcass be looking at a beautiful flower in a week? I bet she will like that!

Powering through that heat no problem! Looks fantastic carcass!

Yes, she's flowering- She's not really getting much taller now,so I guess the last 3 weeks of fast growth was the stretch- now she's just working on the buds, and getting a little wider.
She kind of snuck in the stretching- she knew she was flowering quite awhile before I did,
unlike indoors, when the switch to 12/12 gives you a definite starting point.
I bet she will like that!
Yeah, Mrs.C is all excited about it,in fact she can't gripe talk enough about the smell:oops:

I don't know if it would help you any but I thought that I'd mention it anyhow. I grow Clematis vines. You need to keep the roots cool for them to thrive. I use light colored flat rocks around her to keep her cool. I usually use limestone. It's very slow dissolving and has its benefits beyond the heat reflection.

I usually use limestone.
Thanks,VG !
I've got a big pile of flagstone-Is that the same stuff ?
Ms.Cheese is almost as wide as she is tall,so the ground
around her doesn't see much sun-that thermometer under her was just
reading the air temp, which was hotter than hell yesterday...today
is only supposed to be "almost hot as hell". :)

Yup, I think flagstone is a generic term but it's usually made from limestone. You can check by putting a bit of vinegar on it. If it bubbles it's more than likely limestone.

Mrs.C is a rock collector,so I've got plenty of rocks in assorted sizes...

About 25 years ago,I even got her an 600 pound boulder for her birthday...I didn't bother wrapping it, just stuck a little bow on it.

Hey, I actually love that idea. I'm the kinda chick that digs geomorphology. #nerditude

You didn't weight 600lbs back then did you?

No not quite that much!
It was a boulder that I'd seen for years, sitting in the middle of a big field.
I just took the work truck and loaded it up one foggy morning...they were starting to clear the field to build apartments, so I just got that big rock out of their way.
Must've been odd for the construction crew the next morning..."wasn't there a big rock here yesterday?"

It's one of her favorite things I've ever gotten her..
A diamond may be forever,but a 600 pound rock is a close second! :)

I'd rather have the boulder. It probably rode in on a glacier. If you are on the west coast...right? It would have been the Cordilleran ice sheet. Neat-o.

At 1,360,776 carats, she can't wear it on her finger.

Here it is-it wasn't really supposed to go right there, but that's where the wheel broke off of the dolly we were using to move it. We couldn't pick it back up ,so that's where it stayed...
It's sunk into the ground about 2 feet over the years,so it's a little bigger than it looks-
Makes a great place to light fireworks on the 4th of July...

My pareidolia is kicking in . I see a toad shaped rock.
Sometimes rocks pick their own spot, eh?. Lol

That one sure did-
I wish I had video of my sons and I just getting it as far as we did- got it out of the truck with the lift gate, then the 150 foot journey to the back yard began...took us about 4 hours to move it-the equipment dolly it was on was almost useless-the wheels wouldn't hardly roll with that much weight on them
Great family memories right there!

My ex husband chopped one of his fingers off with a similar sized rock. He was trying to relocate it for his Smother.
If you aren't smarter than a rock you may come away from an experience like that as less of a man, literally.
