Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Thanks,Shed! Glad you're back,hope
that "under the weather" thing is finally behind you!
Everyone in your neck of the woods is hoping for great fall weather there!
If today was any indication, it should be pretty nice-I need about 8 more weeks of what it's been like for the last week-MsCheese is loving it!

Hey my friend! I have not been able to swing by here in a while but things are looking great on your end. Nice looking seedlings - off to a great start. Ms. Cheese is gorgeous! That massive pot field is insane...o_O just can't wrap my head around the security lol.
and lastly... a massive congrats on MOTM! well deserved :high-five::slide::passitleft:

Monday is here again,so it's update time!

The 2 indoor girls are doing pretty well,The GDPxGB is a week behind the Purple Punch.
The PP is taking well to the quad training-I'm seeing the beginnings of her lady parts,so she'll be flowering real soon.(she's 23 days from sprout)
The GDPxGB isn't cooperating quite as well-she's got a little genetic defect that's affecting the leaves and branches on one side of the plant- we'll take a closer look at that in a minute...

Here's a top-down shot of their happy little home:

Here's the GDPxGB,with the "funny" leaf: (17 days from sprout)

And the accompanying "funny " branch:

I'm hoping she'll get straightened out...if not,she may end up a "tri-line",which is ok,too.

Here's the PP,she's doing well after her somewhat slow start;

You may notice something looks a little "off" with the quad training-that's because it is...
I'm trying something a tiny bit different with these plants-I'm training 2 of the branches at a little different angle than the usual 90 degree setup...

What I'm hoping to accomplish with this is to have the plant grow into a rectangular shape, instead of the usual square shape -IF it works like it should, this should help both of them to fit better in the box, plus open the middle of the plant up a little more for better light penetration...at least that's the plan.

Here's a little better look at what I'm talking about:

3a.JPG

You can see it's more of an "x" than it is a "+"...so we'll see how that goes-too late to turn back now....

They're still real short, which is a good thing

One more look at them before we move on to Ms.Cheese:

That's it for inside stuff,so lets go outside and see how Ms.Cheese is coming along...
She only grew 4" this week,so she's 43 inches tall now:

6.JPG

She is a very healthy plant, she gets 10g of Mega Crop in 2 gallons of water every 5 or 6 days

She's flowering now- it's odd,but no stretch yet... maybe that will come a little later

When she gets a little farther along,I'm going to pollinate one bud with some pollen from "the big guy" that grew in this same spot a few months back.

And that's it for this installment!

I hope everyone has a great week,
Thank you for looking and thanks for your support,I really appreciate it :peace:
Till next time...Happy growing everyone!

I reckon it'll work a treat for you.
I hope so-either way,I don't think it'll hurt anything,and at least
we'll know if it's worth doing or not.

Hey carcass just skimmed through to catch up and those plants grew fast from when I last checked in mate well done and ms cheese is looking awesome gonna be a nice yielder there I think

the way to maximize the space in a square is to put the plants in the corners
I know that would be more efficient use of the space, but would I have to re-hang the light diagonally?...I can do that, but it would be a bit of a pain to do it.-the reason they're side by side like they are is to keep them directly under the light-the box has a built in light hanger(clothes hanger bar) and it won't work diagonally,so I'd have to re-engineer the top section of the box,or add to the existing hanger somehow...
Or,I could just leave the light alone, and stick them in the corners for a few weeks and see how they do-I might try that...
ms cheese is looking awesome gonna be a nice yielder there I think
Thanks,Tom -she's already bigger than I thought she'd get,and she's got buds popping out everywhere...
Interested in the "x" design too.
Yes,it would be nice if it does what I hope it'll do-we'll know that answer in 8 weeks or so...
Everything is looking great carcass!!
Thanks,BL-things are looking pretty darn good over in your journal, too!

I'd take those leaves from the GDPxGB that are sitting on the soil
Done !
edit** that plant smells like a pine tree...a skunky pine tree

Just a pic of what MsCheese is dealing with today-
It's 105f in the shade out where she lives:

hot out there 2.JPG

The @SeedsMan website says Cheese does well in warmer weather, and she's handling it just fine- a lot better than I am,actually :)

hot out there 3.JPG

That's all for today-I was just a little surprised she's not wilting
out there.
I watered her yesterday,so maybe that helped...

Thanks for looking :peace:
See you back in here on Monday!

Ms. Cheese is a beautiful plant Carcass! :slide: Seems she's not fazed by the hot weather at all.

keeping the roots cool
That's a major benefit of growing in the ground-if she were in a pot,I'd have to work on keeping the pot cool-I learned about cooked roots "the hard way" quite a few years ago
she's not fazed by the hot weather at all.
I'm really surprised she's not at least a little droopy- but she's really happy about the heat!
A lot happier about it than I am- I'm the droopy one today-This heat sucks!
It's not supposed to last long, thank goodness!
