Bux's 252W LED Micro Bloom w/ CO2

re: Bux's 252W LED Micro Bloom w/ CO2

Thanks for checking em out everyone.

those damaged leaves will eventually die off and you will see new growth fill in, but it will take a week or so before that starts. For now they will just have holes.

Yea, the Cal def is not spreading to new leaves. Im happy about that lol. When you mentioned Magnesium def the other day I started looking for it and I can only find signs of a Cal def. I am worried I may not be treating everything right if its a Mg def.

2nd light

Note on lighting:

On day 25 I added a 2nd 126W light. I felt that the 60 degree beam angle at 5 or 6 inches from the canopy wasn't using all of the available space sufficiently. My goal was to grow some super compact shrubs using bushmasters and there looked to be just enough room to slide the other puppy in so thats what we did.

No. too many changes and problems. Next run I think I'll be a lot more dialed in and have lots less problems. I'll start to compare with that one. I'm having enough trouble watching all the LED grows that have popped up since I started mine. The HPS grows I'm watching would make me cry if I tried to compare right now. Granny420, omenman, and I pop into Pitvipers from time to time. If your not watching Tunes420 you should. The LST he does on his plants I think would help out our LED grows a lot, I think.

wow man nice journal ill be geting cought up on this one soon thats a nice set up

Thanks man. I am starting to wish it were just a bit bigger. The WW's highest bud is 3 inches away from the panel. There is no more room for the light to be adjusted. I dont know what too do lol... Do I take out the light on that side, or top them and hope for the best?

any way to lst? Or is too stressful at this stage of the plant's life? I just had to do the same thing today. the plant is at about 4 weeks veg. Have you pinched already? Good luck Bux

re: Bux's 252W LED Micro Bloom w/ CO2

nice setup warbucks!

i like it a lot.

i think wifect is on the right track bud. just take some string, tie it like two or three nodes down from the top of the tall tops that are getting too tall, and pull them down, not to the point that the stems break, but good and leaning hard, and tie them down. . . the top will correct itself and the bottom part of the cola will stand up too in parallel, but it should not be too stressful, and you wont encroach any more on your light. might even harvest you a bit mor if you get some added penetration.

definitely a better option then topping at this point. topping in flower should be worst case scenario.

Day 39 @ 12/12

Mid Week Update.

Day 39 @ 12/12

I had to remove 2 gallons of water and replace with fresh water to lower the TDS ppm some. My TDS was @ 1800 ppm from 1500 ppm last Thursday. The PH problem is fixed and I believe that has fixed the Cal def. If you look close you can see some of the tips curling down. The leaves that are curling down were the ones that were showing the most signs of Cal def during my PH crisis.

As you can see I am out of room on the left.

Thanks for words of wisdom. I agree with you and wifecaretaker. I tried to see if the top would bend at 2 or 3 nodes down and I am scared it will break. Do you think I am just being to easy on her or do you think there is a good possibility that she will break if I try to bend it enough to tie her down. Below is a pic comparing it against a screw driver between the 2nd and 3rd node so you can see how thick it is. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I will need all the luck I can get. No I wont pinch it until I run out of options. I would rather try to tie it down then chopping it off... Even if it stresses the plant. I dont know if it will bend enough to tie down. Maybe I could just let it grow into the light. HEHE

Very nice, very nice indeed! i'll follow this one and +reps

Thanks NFT welcome aboard m8

re: Bux's 252W LED Micro Bloom w/ CO2

I broke 2 or 3 stems of my too-tall Cali Dream over (90 degrees or more), and they stayed bent and the branches all turned up toward the light in less than a day. I did watch them pretty closely to make sure there was circulation getting through, though. The stems eventually rounded off at the bends and it now looks like they just grew that way themselves.

Really, thats great news! When you bent them they broke but were able to keep growing? Do you have any pics of the area that broke?

I'll have to wait till lights on to take a pic. Will do, though. 9pm CST or later.
I really thought I had damaged them when I bent them over, too. I had been cussing them at the time, telling them they were dumbasses for growing into the light, etc. Wasn't all that gentle with them as I remember it...

re: Bux's 252W LED Micro Bloom w/ CO2

hey bux,

if you break them, its not the end of the world, and yeah they should still be able to feed and grow even after they're broken. . . I've done it a bunch both on pupose and on accident.

the thing is your already pretty deep into flowering, and if you break the stems it might take a week or two for the top to recover, and will put some decent stress on her. In veg this is perfectly fine, but in flower it will definitely hurt your bottom line as far as yield goes.

every plant and every strain has different characteristics, and according to environment too, they will all behave slightly different. so i can't really tell you how far you can bend before she will break. . . my guess is that you could probably pull them down far enough to get the tops close to 90*, or parallel to the ground without breaking the inside of the stem. . . don't try to get it to make a hard 90* turn in the stem, just let the branch make a big arc like a quarter of a circle.

do it to one branch, go kinda slow, and if it breaks then you should know exactly how far you can go with the others, if you get to a 90* turn without it breaking, go with that for all of them.

this would be the solution with the least amount of stress, and the most benefits for you at this stage of your grow (IMHO of course)

how come the name of your journal went from 252w to 126w? your still using both lights right? I can't believe how many LED journals are starting up here, the plethora of info is really helpful. thanks bro.
