BK's Indoor Soil Autos

that clawing looks like an overfeed problem, but you are not feeding... hmmm Also the deep green... looks like too much N. You have me perplexed.
@BubbaKush909 - to me it looks like classic N toxicity. Too much N. Maybe the soil if you're not feeding? What do you think @Emilya? And if it is the soil itself, what can he do about it? Cuz I don't see where the excess N would be coming from otherwise, and to my eye that's the only thing it looks like, or perhaps a bit of overwatering too.

????

I doubt it is stored in the soil for all this time... I suspect there is another input... maybe N in the calmag... coffee grounds, bloodmeal... something is supplying that N
I didn't think of the CalMag! That might well be it. @BubbaKush, can you post a picture of the business info on the CalMag you're using? It would help to see the levels, specifically the N. I know if I use the Blue Planet Cal Mag it has very high N and can and will bother the plants. I rarely use it due to that. My every day is perfect, Humboldt's Secret CalMag plus Iron. The N is 2%. Perfect for continual use in coco or whenever needed in soil. So yes, @Emilya, it could well be that.

Hey @Jon and @Emilya thanks for your inputs. I am feeding, I've dosed her twice with a light top dressing of Gaia Green Multi which is organic . I figured with a 3gal bag she'd need extra food, looks like I've been poisoning her. She got it on 5/10 & 5/24. It's probably watered in by now. I've also been overdosing the cal-mag I'm going to cut way back on that too. Here are the specs for both

I'd estimate I fed her about a teaspoon each time. I'm thinking it's a combo of this and the excess cal-mag,

Have I done serious harm? Would a major flush be a good idea?

Thanks again and take care!

Oh no BK, I hope you are able to resolve the issues now that you know what they are. I hope no serious harm has been done.

That is going to be hard to flush out of there, so I recommend just giving water for a couple of cycles to see if she can manage to use some of it up. Note the words on the GG, apply once a month. Stop with the calmag too, and then lets sit back and see if she actually needs more cal or mag. That also looks like a sativa dominant... and they generally need less feed and longer time to make their buds.

Thanks Carmen me too! Overall she still looks pretty good, I've probably hurt my yield but I hope I still have time to get her healthy.

Ok Emmie that sounds good, thanks so much! On the bright side now I know what N toxicity looks like. She's been funny since the start with the dark curled down leaf tips which makes me think she was even sensitive to the cal-mag overdosing. To me the leaves look pretty normal and healthy after they grow, except for the tips. I hope she starts showing improvement now. Have a great day!

I'm not qualified to answer your question, but if I had to guess, what I see is CalMag at 3.2 plus 12.0 on the Gaia in terms of Calcium. That seems excessive to me. The N numbers, 4.0 and 2.0, do not however, least to me. So I'm mystified. Sorry man, I get out of my depth fairly quickly when it comes to helping other diagnose their nute issues. I am unfamiliar with the Gaia and don't want to tell you the wrong thing. Sorry!!!

No problem Jon. She's going on a water-only diet and I'll see how she does. I will add some silica and pH down and that's it. Maybe this truly is 'water only' soil. Don't forget I've been giving them 2x the calmag every feeding, so between that and the GG I don't think it's a huge stretch to get to N toxicity.

On a possibly related note, I flushed the Mimosa Lemon on the 24th. Her pot is still extremely heavy, I know I flushed her but normally she'd be ready to feed again soon. So I'm thinking she's starting to slow down, and I've also seen 2 more leaf structures showing problems. Sheesh.

At least I hope I'm learning something. Usually if I'm going to have problems they are early in a grow. I supplemented her with the Gaia Green Bloom on the 15th and 22nd, again lightly top dressed. Oops it also says 1x per month and contains 16% calcium.

My thinking was since I'm only feeding them about 1/6 of the recommended dosage it would have very minimal impact, I was trying to provide a boost. Live and learn.

I'm missing something or do both of these products lack any mag? Seems if they had some I could do without any further calmag supplements.

Time for a reality check, I need to stop thinking I know what I'm doing and read labels and stuff like that lol

Maybe I'll get lucky. The ML is far enough along that I don't think I can mess her up too much more at this point, but I could be wrong. She's on day 61, flower 37. And the SB is still young enough that I hope she'll recover with minimal damage. However since the goal is trying to grow these girls are perfectly as possible that's a big double fail. And of all the plant problems to have besides spider mites and bud rot I hate calmag problems the most. It destroys their beauty and makes the leaves crispy. Damn.

On the bright bright side my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters are coming in tonight for a week, they live out west and I haven't seen them since Xmas. The girls are 5 & 7 and hell on wheels. I'm been thinking for weeks about how to hide the grow from them, I've decided to keep the bedroom door locked and off limits. That way they can't get near the grow room (aka master bath) or wonder why a loud fan and bright lights are audible and visible under the door. Obviously that wouldn't work for a whole week but they're staying in a hotel down the road and will only be over here visiting. I have 2 cats and one isn't very social so I'll just tell them the cat needs to be left alone in the bedroom. Knowing them all they'll want to do is get into the bedroom and see the other cat lol

I'm gonna need about a case of 5 hour energies to keep up with them... and that's per day :yahoo:

Sure your plant will be fine. Currently have at least three plants that I've managed to fork-up.
Am very fortunate since I've been using the same Cal/Mag nutrients for years.
It is very difficult to burn my plants with it.

Starting to utilize Dolomite Lime at the very early in my soil production process in the hopes I'll never be burdened with Cal/Mag issues.

Maybe you can use a tape looping an aggressive feral cat in your bedroom, so the grand kids will be deterred from wanting to engage it.

Anyway the enjoy family visit!!!

You are awfully hard on yourself, @BubbaKush909. Maybe give yourself a little break, you're doing pretty well, just a couple latent issues. You'll get it. The main thing is you HAVE to stop watering when the pot is wet and heavy. You keep mentioning about feeding then again while the pot is still heavy a couple days later. Not ragging on you, just recognizing the urge we all go through - we always tend to think feed feed feed and try everything to pump up stuff, when a lot of times, as you seem to have realized, it might be better just to let the soil you have and what not do it's job. When I start tinkering is usually when I get in trouble, and I would suggest the same is happening with you. So water less, tinker less, and maybe take a step back, that's my suggestion. Enjoy the family visit!!!! I have 14 nieces and nephews, I know all about that hell on wheels. It sounds like just what you need to stop obsessing so hard on your grow for a day or two!!! Enjoy!!

Thanks Farmer! I remember years ago visiting an aunt and uncle and they told us they had a scary feral cat in the basement and it would attack us if we went down there. It was probably true since she liked to rescue feral cats, but maybe it was a grow op lol! So I was thinking along the same lines as you are, a looping tape is a great idea!

Hey @Jon! I really do try and wait, usually when I think they need water I give it at least another 12 hrs. The Mimosa Lemon has been taking 2-3 days between waterings but the 3gal Strawberry Banana has been emptying hers in less than 2 days. With the flush it looks like at least 6 days before the ML will be ready again.

Besides that the Red Super Skunk was only watered very lightly per @Emilya's instructions yesterday, besides that she's been in her new home for a week now and is still consuming all the water that was in her pot at transplant, it's finally starting to feel a little lighter. She's my first plant in a layered 5gal bag and I hope she's growing massive roots.

The 2 babies were watered yesterday for the first time after 5 days in their solo cups, which were totally dried out.

The Red Super Skunk has a 5th node now, I'd like to top her but honestly there's so little space between the nodes I don't think I can do it yet. She's got 5 nodes packed into about 1.5"., and there's no space between the top 3 right now. She's on day 19 now and I was thinking she'd be quite a bit bigger. Hope I've got at least another 10 days, she's supposed to be an 8 weeker.

Speaking of which I have no idea why I thought Titan would be 14 weeks, I wrote down 11 weeks. I had it in my head that all the XXL's were 14 weeks and now that I look none are. The Forbidden Runtz and Red Banana Berry are both only 8 weeks. Note to self - don't trust your memory :yahoo:

Hey @BubbaKush909 - whoa, I see what you mean, she is really tight. DAMN. Those I always have a hard time reading. My Strawberry Bananas grew a lot like that, maybe not quite as tight. She's gonna be a squat, bushy thing with big buds is my guess. Good on the watering, just try and keep up that discipline.

Morning @Jon! I was checking my notes, I topped the Mimosa Lemon at day 24 and the Straw-Ban at day 22. RSS is now day 20, so more or less on track. I was hoping she'd be a little bigger right now but she's very healty looking. I should be able to top her any day now.

Mimosa Lemon day 62, flower 38. She's finally showing signs of thinking about finishing. I gently squeezed a bud last night to check the smell, it's simply exquisite. Sweet and fruity. I'll have to wait for my friend to give you a better description, he's got a way better sense of smell and taste.

I first noticed some (imo) calmag issues with her 4 days ago, you can see it in the pic above. Since then I've been checking her closely. There are 2 badly affected leaf structures, 3 more with minor but visible spots, and maybe 2-3 more that might be showing some issues. I flushed her and she's still days away from another feeding. I hope it doesn't get much worse, this is by far the worst leaf

It's like watching a slow motion train wreck. I hope we can get her across the bridge before it falls into the canyon. I think she's still 2-3 weeks away.

As always thanks for visiting and all your help and comments! I hope everyone has a great day!

Dude, they look much better!! These look pretty damn good! Don't sweat a few spots like that, I have a few too. Might be a touch of nute burn, might be a latent calmag, whatever, you seem to be on the right track now so I'd let it go. The SB looks great!!! And good growth for day 7 on the other two. Nice work.

Hi @Bill284! That's the Strawberry Banana which is behind the Mimosa Lemon. She's in a living soil but I've been giving her too much calmag and also supplementing with an organic top dressing. @Jon and @Emilya helped me with this a few days ago, I'm giving her pH'd water with a little silica and that's it. It's def N toxicity and I'm hoping she'll grow out of it but I welcome anything you'd like to add thank you!
