1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kindsoil

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

Thanks, I'm going to give this a whirl tomorrow. My plants are guzzling a quart at a time. I need to tell the girls this isn't a frat party and they should learn to sip.

I just zip tied the bottles to the sides of the tent poles at a level that I don't have to bend or put stress on my back. You could probably put the bottles for the back plant on the same pole in the front opening if you don't have access to the sides.

Just catching up on your journal.....what did you use to fasten your irrigation hose to the top of your water bottle? I have always used that 1/4" irrigation line and weeper hose in my outdoor hanging baskets, but on a smaller scale on the ladies........you're a genius! I was wondering how to water through my Scroggins and this is perfect!

I drilled a 1/4" or close to it (I can't rememeber the exact size....basically just big enough to struggle to get the hose into the cap. Then I used a small tube of silicone and sealed on the inside and outside of the cap and let it dry for a couple hours and then test just to make sure. It usually takes less than 4 minutes for 32 oz of water to pass through the system. So with five plants, by the time I am finishing filling the 5th one, the 1st plant is done. (I fill a small watering can with a single spout with 32 oz so I am refilling it after each bottle).

That's 2 new things for my next grow. Clothes pins for early LST, now this. He'll I might even use the irrigation on this grow. Thanks for the wicked idea!

Glad to offer any ideas to make our lives easier. For me its kind of a necessary thing. As they get bigger, its more difficult for me to get down there and water them....tough on the back.

1000%.......just got back from Chiro again this morning, I hear you brother. These should come as standard as passive venting in every tent lmao.

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

Day 38 since flip.....day 30 since hairs (roughly halfway point for flower for Blueberry, Blue Kush, and Durban Poison)

Was looking at the clones this morning and saw a gnat or two in the small tent. Not pleased about that. I sprinkled some DE on the tops of soil of the clones in the tent. Will spray them with some Neem oil. If anyone else has an input, please chime in.

The newer clones (Still out on my work table under the T5) don't show any signs of gnats, but I will spray them as well. They are starting to show new growth on them so it appears as they have reverted back into veg. The Blueberry clone is the newest and still looking a bit sluggish.

The initial clones I took (the ones I struggled with and that I took while the girls were still in veg) are looking much better and growing very nicely. They have all put a few new nodes.

The girls in the main tent are getting a bit bushy. I am thinking I will do another defoliation to open up some of the bud sites for better light. I wasn't planning on doing this for another week or so but I think I will forgo that plan and do the defoliation tomorrow. Buds are continuing to frost up and put on some size. Can't wait to watch them over this next 30 days.

Clones in the small grow tent. First picture is my insect trap. Not happy about the bugs. I have only seen two gnats the entire 3 month grow prior to this. These clones are on Day 14 in their pots.

I like chitin best for gnats. I use crab shell meal, insect frass, & SLF-100 as chitin sources. Also BT works pretty well. Can also use 2 to 1 rosemary & clove oils mixed w/ water as soil drench, which is ~same as SNS 203 but far less $. Your ongoing drip system is keeping soil moist so gnats enter & flourish in it. Good luck VS. :Namaste:

Thanks for the input Bright. One bit of info......the drip system is in the upstairs grow room. The problem is in the downstairs tent. Secondly the drip system isn't ongoing. I do one gallon per plant every 4-5 days and it takes about 20 minutes for the water to all get in the soil so it begins the drying process as soon as the watering is complete. I only water the clones every 4 days or so (depends on the feel of the soil). Again, thanks for the input on what to try. Will have to see whats the easiest for me to come up with.

Why so complicated? Is some kind of fetish to mix up everything by yourself? Does it make any sence at all? In my eyes: No. Buy a biololigical neem based pesticide. Will be completely Bio without doing all this stuff, buying several things, and most important thing with fungus gnats is: Time. If you have them at the yellow display, you will have a lot more in your Soil allready. This things put their eggs in the Top layer of your soil, or at the bottom if they can reach it. With my Air-Pots they were at the sides of the Pots too. What you need to do right now is fight them immediatly. They take about 7 Days to develeop to fungus gnats, and they spend their time eating your roots. Guess they are not so much roots to eat with a clone, what leads to problems faster than with a bigger plant. I recommend BAyer Advanced Nutria Neem. It´s basically the same Product what i used to fight these gnats, and it worked perfectly fine without doing damage to my Ladys. I even Watered them with that and it was ok. Foliar applied it aswell. No Problems at all. You´ll find detailed information in my Journal

Jesus Van, those photos..they look incredible..especially the bud shots! You should enter the contests.

Hopefully the gnats have been killed! The lil shits! I've been thinking about getting some Neem Oil just in case. Sending good vibes to you brother!

Thanks for the kind words Chronik and thanks for stopping in, I appreciate a new face. I was toying with entering a few of them....perhaps I will. Still working on the gnats. I have the DE going and the Neem oil. Back Spasms have me down for a day or two so no going anywhere for now, so thats what I am using for the time being brother. There are only a couple, but I am very vigilant with my bug watch and combat!!!
