Xlr8's Quest For The Best - 2012

X T Ripper......or Xtrip

Love 'em! :high-five:

I thought about calling the JTR/OG Kush "XG Kush" or "XG Ripper". Since "OG" supposedly stands for "Ocean Grown", I figured, why not "X Grown"? ;)

forgot to rep ya on those photos of the girls..
+rep coming!

WOW man!!All I can say about those pics is +reps bro! they are freakin gorgeous!!

:thankyou: both a ton for the reps and especially for the kudos that came with. Much appreciated! :)

btw,im having a minor def issue i'd appreciate any input if you can bro.theres a few pics in my journal.:helpsmilie:

Hi Jon!

I gave you my gut feeling in your journal, but I don't think I've had one quite like that... I think it will be easily resolved with a little more "bloom" in your feed ratio, personally. :goodluck:

NICE CLEAR PICTURE AND UP CLOSE ON THOSE CRYSTALLY BABIES. :thumb: Its just the beginning to

:thankyou: for the props and the picture bump, Wizhigh. Yeah, Should be fun to watch them finish! :thumb:

Sick update, looks like a snowy wonderland!:bravo: Your going to have some killer x-mas smoke. Sorry if i missed it but are you adding cal-mag to the elite bpn schedule?:peace:

Thanks Greenhouse! Should be a merry X-mas indeed. ;)

Yes, about 4ml per gallon at the moment, with RO water. It may not be necessary with all strains, but the OG related strains I've been growing lately seem to really crave a lot of calcium. I've had a few here and there that just seem to benefit from a little cal/mag with RO, but for others there seems to be enough in the base nutrients. None seem to react negatively to cal/mag in the mix.

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, SteveHman was growing Pineapple Chunk in at least one of his grows. What ever happened to our Brother Steve? Is he still a mod? Does he have a new journal up somewhere that I missed?

UPDATE: I remembered he entered his "red head" Pineapple Chunk and won NOTM sometime last year, so I double-checked NOTY and found it was last October - 420 Magazine's Nug of the Month - October 2011

Steve's P-Chunk journal is here:

Here's the chart he posted on his yields:

The chart is in THIS POST where he noted:

Hi Mr. Krip!

GREAT info. I remember this now. I wish Steve was still around more - not sure what's up in his life, but he hasn't been around lately. He sure had nice grows and journals, huh? Hopefully, he'll make a reappearance some time soon... I'd give you reps but I think I just did... Thanks again for the detailed info.

:thankyou:

Hi X, you were absolutely right bro! I went to the gh site and the schedule I got from a waterfarm kit I bought was different from the online one.it says 10 mil micro 10 mil grow 5 mil bloom the old one said 7.5 micro 12.5 grow m2.5 bloom.I expect they will be looking great in a few days.thanks again bro I ll rep you as soon as I can:thanks:

havent been by in awhile. wow things are growing well I see and great pixs X I would be more then proud of those buds.
I like Xripper

hey Xlr those names everyone is dropping are great :thumb: but im having a lil leaf trouble (in my update) will you give me your opinion? i cant wait to start breeding i dont have the room now but ill use collidal silver on a auto for my next year outdoor crop maybe some fem auto seeds? u ever experimented with it?

I really hope that does the trick for you, Jon, and I think it will personally. No worries about the reps, they're always appreciated but I'm just happy if I was able to help. :)

Thanks fish cake! :thankyou:

Xripper does sound pretty cool. :thumb:

frosty!!!!! i say x cheese i love my blue cheese since its one of my favs and i have several blue strains i blame the cheese genetics for why th bc is sooo good i love da cheese gimme da cheddah!!!

Awesome, thanks for the feedback on the cheeeeeese BID. I decided to put the Exodus Cheese (I like X Cheese!) on hold for now, but I will definitely grow it at some point. I was so on the fence with that one - I decided to wait. But, I know I want to grow it at the next good opportunity. :)

Hi Mrgivemethat -

I'll take a look and see if I can give you an opinion on your leaf trouble, no prob. :)

I've not done the colloidal silver, but it's interesting stuff. I like working with regular seeds when I can, though fem seeds make things a bit easier for sure. I haven't really done any breeding other than making the regular seeds from a male Jack the Ripper I had and crossed with a few other plants.

Jandre - hope you are feeling better and that the migraines have let up. I get them every once in a while, and they are really terrible to live with, sure wishing you the best buddy... :thumb:

Yeah, I don't get them often anymore. Used to be about 20-27 days a month with migraine(s). Now it's only about once a month, but they still last for days. Yeah, no migraine today, but I've been fighting a double tooth infection for a week now. Finally got up the funds for my cash-up-front (asshole) DDS. So I have Azithromycin and it's helping, btu I still have to go back on Monday and get them yanked. They're not savable now. So me on the forums is spotty at best, for now.

In other news, I closed the flower thread and started a part-2.

Yes, here comes the shameless plug.

Maybe I'm too critical, but how the hell are you losing 80% of your plant weight? I've always had, and often seen from 70-73% loss. You're at 80%+

Hi Jandre -

Just making sure you know that's SteveHmans chart/info. I haven't seen him around in a while, which is too bad he was a great contributor here. As far as me, I've never measured "wet" weight of my buds - just dry weight. Mostly I don't do it due to how I dry (still hanging on the branch for the first part of the process). I could be getting 90% loss for all I know, haha!

Bummer about your teeth. Ouch! That sounds so painful to me. Glad no migraines today, though. I'll check out your new thread. :)

Just so's you know... I used Diminishing Light on the last phase in the box... Dry weight loss was down to only 55%. that says to me that there are more resin solids present, and not all the harvest will evaporate away. That also falls in line with the mass amounts of research I have done on this aspect of DL for flower. That was a huge improvement over the 73% loss I was getting previously. That means that 100g harvested will be 45g, instead of 37g. I'll take that extra 1/3 ounce straight to the co-op!!

To those not co-op-ing, it means denser, more solid nugs.

Actually, to be clear, that chart is NOT mine, it was done by Stevehman documenting one of his grows. But, that being said, if I'm reading it correctly (and doing the math correctly!) he's actually at 29.42% retained, or a 70.58% loss in water weight.

You need to read carefully, because it's not all obvious, but his total wet weight is 1437. For the ACTUAL total dry weight, you need to add 75.6 + 93.512 + 109.431 + 144.359 which equals 422.902 total actual dry weight. And, 422.902/1437 = .29423 (rounded) or 29.42%.
:Namaste:

Good to know, I've been following your progress on this one - your postulation seems plausible to me, thanks for the heads up on your findings so far.

Do you think it could be explained by other reasons... like RH differences during end of grow or proximity to bulb? In other words, are you apples to apples on this, pretty confidently?

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
