Xlr8's Quest For The Best - 2012

Can you send them sugar gnomes my way? :slide:

Thank you, btw! :thankyou:

Your PE's and GDP are shaping up great so far - you have a very green thumb. I'm starting to bum a little about deciding to cull the PE I had in this grow - I've been dying to try PE... Oh well, get to look forward to it again for the next round. In the mean time - show me what to look forward too! Hope you are doing well buddy. :)

Looks like you have done alot with that Jack the Ripper. Alot of intresting names agoing on here. Plants are starting to load up there Xlr. You know looking back afew times at acouple grows of it, I kind of wish I'd planed the one I tried alittle better. Sure looks like you got it working out for you. I just didn't alot enough room when I tried it. Hell I was tring to fit 3 plants in a 10X16' greenhouse. Sounded at the time like enough room. Ofcourse I could've kept size down but I was triving for larger plants then. Wow that JtR got huge. But it sure looks like you kind of got her dialed in abit. Good looking buds ya got coming up there my friend...... Keepem Green

Hi Wood -

Some of those Jack the Ripper phenos get huge! I ended up with one that is (relatively) short, bushy, with very little stretch. Heck I'd think of the stretch as minimal even if it were an indica. This pheno would be a pretty good keeper if I had more space. Hard to find haze plants that have such minimal stretch/height requirements. The name doesn't fit my pheno at all, lol, in terms of size and stature. Perfect indoor sativa, but I'm wanting to work with the JTR crosses more instead at this point. Oh man, I'd love to see you grow out a monster bush Jack the Ripper in your outdoor garden. :yummy: Thanks for dropping by my friend!

I'd go with the x cheese to mix up your palate of flavors. If you did any breeding with it you could incorporate the "X" into the name as well.

Thank you Xlr8, I'll do my best.

Its one I've been wanting to try for a while as well.

I'm feeling good right now :thanks: How you doing?

That's the biggest temptation to the Exodus Cheese and the reason I can't seem to shake it from consideration. I'd almost ruled it out, but started thinking the same thing about the different flavors/variety...

X-odus Kush? ;)

Cross it with a PE and get Xodus Xpress! :)

Update - 43 days Bloom

The Deadhead Ripper has trichomes seemingly everywhere. I'm quite impressed by the overall "frostiness" so far. This one has the very specific chemical/fuel taste that the Deadhead OG mom in the lineage possessed. It really looks like almost the same plant, except that you do see some mutant characteristics in the fan leaves that come from the Jack the Ripper side (extra blades on the leaves, etc.) The OG Ripper has very nice spear shaped buds and, while not as frosty, seems to be bulking up more. The Lemon Smell on this one is really something and very noticeable. Jack the Ripper is the slower bloomer of the bunch, but it's definitely gaining steam. The JTR smells a bit like cherry lemonade. On the plant it smells like a gummy worm somewhat - like a red and yellow gummy worm, lol. Very pleasant smell for sure.

All plants have impressive secondary bud development. By taking out the plant that hermied, and keeping up with pulling larger fan leaves and leaves that interfere with light to the lower canopy, there should be less of the popcorn/fluffy stuff on the lower parts of the plant. I'm super pleased with things so far, all the way around. :)

Love it! Actually, that plant (Pineapple Express x Exodus Cheese) sort of exists in the form of Pineapple Chunk (I do have a Pineapple Chunk freebie seed also). I say sort of exists, because that would be the Barney's Farm "Pineapple" bred with their own clone of Exodus Cheese if I recall correctly. Anyone out there tried Pineapple Chunk? Wouldn't mind feedback on that one, actually, as I'd like to grow it eventually, though probably not this next round. Pineapples and Cheese sound like such a disgusting mix, but it must have some appeal as they put the work in on the strain.

It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, SteveHman was growing Pineapple Chunk in at least one of his grows. What ever happened to our Brother Steve? Is he still a mod? Does he have a new journal up somewhere that I missed?

UPDATE: I remembered he entered his "red head" Pineapple Chunk and won NOTM sometime last year, so I double-checked NOTY and found it was last October - 420 Magazine's Nug of the Month - October 2011
