Just to say I'll be peeking in. I see I have to catch up allready. Hell 11 pages in 5 days. Ya'll go alittle fast pased for me to keep all the way up. But I'll look back and see whats up. GL with that system. I seen alot use them with good results. But myself I like the forgiveness that soil brings to the table. Well GL with those plants and I'll be back looking in soon. Keepem Green

I'll have to give soil a shot sometime. Seems like it is a bit more forgiving, but I love the preciseness of hydro for some reason...

Yeah, I don't know what kind of a horticultural sprawl I'm getting myself into, lol, but I may just flower without a lot of veg on things to keep size manageable. We'll see. Hawaiian Snow sounds like it would be

Grow Update - 8 days from germination (Aug 24):
I upped the PPM's of my mild nutrient solution from about 260ppm to about 370ppm by adding roughly 10 ml each of BPN Grow, Micro, Bloom (had originally put 20ml of each in res.) They are responding favorably, and depending on the next day or two I may do a res change and bump it up a little more. These are ppm's based on Oakton TDS pen, so they are a little higher than PPM from a Hannah PH pen for example. Pretty weak still, but I'm headed the right direction - they look better tonight than last night.
(1) Skywalker and (1) Lucy have a couple of roots in the reservoir already. I expect the rest to start hitting soon, and I'll probably put these into the Flo N Gro sometime in the next few days. I noticed that the 2 that hit the reservoir had better bubbles/aeration directly below them so I added 2 more air-stones on the fly ghetto style -- and the water is really churning bubbles in there now. Overall they are all doing pretty well and developing healthy looking new growth.
Couple of other things - yesterday I started keeping a clip on fan circulating air over the seedlings with a little humidifier in front of it. Worked out pretty nice how it blew a lite humid breeze over them. I can tell the fan is helping the stems strengthen a little. I splurged recently on a ultrasonic small humidifier instead of a more mechanical one. It fits the tent well, and it makes a really nice fine mist. It's helped me keep RH in there at about 60% with a light breeze.
Oh, I took the T5 off of them a yesterday and have them under a single 400w right now. May have been a little hard on them at first too, but I think it's spurring some healthy growth now.
I'm happy!
Lastly, Chocolope sprouted a nice healthy tap root and I put it into a Rapid Rooter in a humidity dome - hopefully it pokes it's head out in the next day or two... Can't wait!

Cant wait to see your system start up. Are you going to put something up to keep the walls out or just keep it as it is? Cuz i know you get a decent vaccuum in there with a 200cfm.

Good question - the answer would be yes for certain if my health were better. I've had some serious health concerns as of late, and I've been doing so much more than I should anyway.
I'm going to have to lean some more on my wife for help soon, and I just don't know if I'll get to supporting the walls right away. I will definitely keep it in mind and will probably look to make a tweak like that eventually.
I know it doesn't take much, but I'm at the point of crawling to do some of what I've been doing lately - and I'm not too proud of it, but shit happens! Shows you how much I like doing this, and the meds truly help me with pain. Sometimes it's most effective medicine I have! Hopefully, I'll just be better soon...
Do you think shower rods with spring tension ends might work somehow? Hmmm....

You know, those shower rods could probably work as long as they extend to 6'6".

Your seedlings are looking great..I'm a bit behind you with mine.
Question for ya: have you ever had to remove a seed's helmet before? At what point would this be necessary. All this seed ish is new to me and makes me feel like a noob all over. It is pretty fun though, can't imagine seeing these ladies all obese and pushing out nugs..they are so small and useless right now, lol!

I strongly believe you should never take off your soldiers headgear... Even if it stays on the whole life of the plant it shouldnt affect anything. Im sure others might not agree but i say let er be!
