Woodsman's Northern Light #5 Grow

I use FFOF soil and sometimes i use it for two grows in a row. I use tap water that tests about 7. I let it sit in milk jugs for 2 or 3 days before i use it. I follow the FFOF ferts soil feeding schedule and i've never had a problem. I do add cal-mag the last month of bloom. I'm not saying i'm doing it right, but i'm getting a good harvest. As a matter of fact, I only check soil run off for ph, if i got a problem with a plant. Other than that, I just watch em grow !! I bought one of those Ferry & Morse electrical soil testers, but i have never figured out how to use it. No matter what, it always reads 6.9-7.0, so it's been out of use for a couple of years now. I got it to check the conditions in my outdoor garden, but it just don't work !! Ha !! If you figure out how it works, please let me know. I can stick this one in pure cow shit and it still reads 7 !! Ha !! So it's basicly new in the box !! And worthless !!

haha slow puffer i bought one ,did the same thing, ordered a milwaukee ph 53,it actually works lol, woods i reall enjoy ur postsand the comments ever one makes:grinjoint:

I'm really curious about plant #5 and I really hope that she turns out a she! She is definitely a different phenom with her leaf shape a dead giveaway. She is the plant in the front left of the group shot and she is easily seen in many of the pics.. Fatter yet shorter leaves with rounded saw tooth edges.. The others all have rather sharp (normal) edges to the teeth.

Any opinions or guesses. Please...............

Girls are looking good! Glad they all pulled out of it, I figured they would unless they were cooked, not just a bit droopy.

:cheer:

:peace:

Hey Mountain! Thanks for having faith in me! I wish I could hire you out for 'ball searching' LOL! I'm seeing cross-eyed right now!:;):

I don't know but with the leaves that wide and round I'm pretty sure it's a heavy indica pheno (couch lock variety!).

Indica for sure, but which strain? I've tried searching the net for things like 'identifying cannabis by the leaf' and others searches,:reading420magazine: to no avail.

Thanks Velo,

I'm wondering if there is or I can post a thread here on 420 that could help in strain identification?

Good luck, with all the varieties out there, it's going to be tough to identify... Your best bet will be when you smoke it.. The taste and high may help you figure it out... I just wanted to check in on you and see how the garden is coming... They are looking nice... Be patient, they will show you their goods.. When you sex younger ( not sexually mature) plants it takes longer for them to show under their skirts... Anyway of getting that temp a little lower? You are doing a fine job, keep up the good work..:peace:

Thanks Be IRIE, really appreciate you stopping by. Ya I was just hoping that it would look familiar to someone. It has such on add leaf profile.

You know you've got something there. My last grow vegged a little longer than this grow. That one showed in two days. Thank you for that bit of knowledge!:bravo:

As far as lowering the Temp, is 82 too warm? I can turn the fan on to the 'high' setting and if it's too windy on the plants, I could deflect the air flow I guess.

Update and Photos - Flower day 5

My search for sex has still come up empty, not sure, confused (like a teenager)

:passitleft:

OK, I just loved this sentence  it just killed me. It doesn't quite sound right for a MJ cultivation forum, but then again it totally does. I missed it the first time but I was back tracking a little on your thread and it hit me full force. Figured I should highlight it for if anyone else missed it the first time too. Funny sh*t bro!

Well I guess we've all been there! I tell my wife when I go up now that 'I'm going up to the grow to look for sex!':smokin:

Nice find & recovery! :bravo:

Your girls (I have my fingers crossed for ya) are lookin' real nice Woodsman!

82 degrees isn't too warm at all IMHO. We shoot for 80 to low 80s ourselves and they are lovin' it.

This is a fun journal :nicethread:

Man this pic looks just like yours, on p.13 of Jorge's MJ Horticulture...
cannabis Afghanica has "...distinctive , broad, dark-green leaflets and leaves. Dense branching and short internodes, most often with long leaf stems..."
it also says 'hash plant' is a classic example of c. afghanica

Good morning Woodsman,
Your plants are looking awesome and you are an awesome dad to your plants, that was a very good job finding the heat problem as fast as you did and reacting to it. Low 80's is not too warm for them but I would not let it get much warmer than that.
On my NL which is the exact same as yours for anybody who does not know yet and mine show sex on the 7th internode from the bottom and you will probably notice the white hairs before you see the pistils at least on mine that is how I found them.
I really don't know why there cant be something started for identifying different strains, I'm growing 3 different strains and the leaf structures are all different. Also if you think about it there are many varieties of lets say Maple trees and Oak trees, I know they're not weeds but each one of them are identifiable by leaf structure, barks, trunks, canopy shapes and different colors so why can't MJ be done?

Haha you crack me up man I love reading your journal cuz i always get a good laugh :grinjoint: 82 ain't bad though man but 75-78 would be a lot better my plants chill at about 82-86 overnight when my closet door is closed and during the day with it open they are chillin at 75-78 with humidity of about 45% and they are just killin it in growth, a good way to do both of these if you don't have a good way to bring colder air in is to grab a bucket, some newspaper, and dry ice; wrap the dry ice in the newspaper put it in the bucket and put it in your tent:smokin: i've been told it also puts off CO2 however, i have never had the equipment to be able to tell if it does or not but i definitely put this method to use and it was quite effective in fact watch your temps if you try it out cuz they drop pretty quick:smokin: But the ladies are lookin nice there Mr. Woods keep it up hope that info can help:bravo:
