Woodsman's Northern Light #5 Grow

Of course.. as long as your 2700 are dominant ratio wise. Mixing up the bulbs will be great for the ladies.. They'll love it.

:grinjoint: Hey buddy, I just sat down after putting a chicken in the oven to roast and will be rolling one right after I answer you!

Thank for the grats on the flowering. It's coming up on 'peek a boo time', looking for the girls and boys. :passitleft: Last grow with the Mazar the plants were letting me know right after going 12/12. So first thing I do after raising the lights is go hunting for sex (just like when I was younger).

I've got a total of 284w. Looks like this:

Left Side......40w-26w-26w-40w all soft white
Center.... 100wHPS
Right Side....40w-26w-26w-40w all soft white

Not sure how many lumen though. :reading420magazine:
Edit update: 26000 total lumen, Make sense? I've got about 6 square feet of grow space so that's 4300+ lumen per sq ft. I don't know much about this stuff. Just breezed through a search of minimum requirements per sq ft and found two answers? 2000 lumen and 2500 lumen per sq ft. Is it safe to say that I have maybe twice the minimum requirement. Please tell me this is so.. I'd be a very happy grower.. I had pretty much just the 100w HPS last grow and that is about 9000 lumen (found on a search) at 6 sq ft of space that's only 1500 lumen per sq ft.
Now on to rolling :passitleft::passitleft:

Aloha Woodsman,
Things are looking great and grats on the switch. Its so exciting getting to see which are girls and which are not. Hey, sorry to correct you, but wouldn't the bulbs/lights listed above =364w total?! Hopefully thats good news to ya, cause thats another 80w getting those girls cranking!! Dont know if that effects your overall lumen calculation? Again, sorry to correct, but at least you know I am really paying attention....lol :reading420magazine:

You can use them. It's call 'Full Spectrum" lighting! That's why they have the hybrid bulbs out now!
Alright then I may add a few (need to find some fixtures and soem space!) Thanks bud:cheer:

I'd probably have limited room so that won't be an issue. Thanks Dro

HawaiianD thank you for the correction. I had been indulging at the time! LOL
Good morning my friend, a question also for you on my journal, lol.

They're into puberty!:bravo:

This is the make up:

Left Side......40w-26w-26w-40w all soft white
Center.... 100wHPS

I don't have a whole lot more wattage than you Woods. I think if you keep the ladies flat and lots of bud sites, what you got should finish for you. But if you feel a few more watts would help and you can control the heat, more is almost always better :grinjoint:.

:peace: brother.

Hey my friend, It wasn't really in my plan to add more lights. I do have as you know limited space and it would be hard just trying to squeeze another fixture in. If I did it would only be minimal and like you said may add more heat. I already get mid 80's to 90 deg heat in there. Then there is the 'wife'! The number one reason for not adding any. It be like, "ya hon, some of the guys suggest that I add some more lighting to the.............sound of loud crash as a frying pan that just whizzed by my head, hits the wall! So I have to weigh the different possibilities first, then we'll see!

The plants right now are soaking in very good light that I'm giving them (at 4300+ lumen per sq ft) and from what I've read is very good. Last grow I had only 1500 lumen per sq ft.

I was just upstairs 'looking for sex' !LOL I know it's only the 3rd day of flower, but who can have enough when plants are concerned, LOL. Well the signs in some of the nodes are too tiny to tell yet. Next time I go up I'll take the 'Radio Shack Special' and get a closer view.

Below is a diagram of what my tent should look like when I expand my sides and front. I will use some sort of a stiff wire like clothes hangers (budget grow remember). My tent is made from plastic and has plenty of play in it. Bulging out the sidewalls and the front of the tent will give me some much needed room for any future growth. Before any work is started though, I need to see how many females I'll have.

I may have found two males. Early detection of first signs of 'little ball' on plants #2 and#3. The other three are not showing any sign what so ever, yet. Aren't the males, usually first to show? If this is true, then the largest plant and the two smallest are females.. Nothing confirmed yet. Just suspected!:reading420magazine:

The two suspect males are #2 (left rear) and #3 (right rear). pic from Sunday

Males are indeed first to show most of the time. Makes are also usually the tallest so watch for that. It doesn't sound like you'll be hasty with the pull but unless you are absolutely sure don't. The balls have to grow and then mature before they open so you have an extra day or three. It gets pretty obvious before anything dangerous happens if your watching.

Thanks MC. Ya no hurry here, and again, not sure yet. 'Tell tail' signs of what could be one tiny tiny seed pod in a couple nodes of the two plants mentioned. I'll be keeping a good eye open.

Might I suggest fiberglass tent poles? you can usually find them at thrift stores. Good luck bro the idea is sound.
