Woodsman's Northern Light #5 Grow

Things are lookin' good Woodsman.
Not for nothin' but do you keep your liquids in your grow area? If so you may want to consider taking them out of all the light and heat. I'm not certain but my understanding is that it may not be good for the stability of the nutes.

Just a thought.

I'm sure your right about that. I'm getting them out right now! Thanks buddy.

Hey I see a little bit of lilbit in those girls already, look at some of those stems getting sooooo fat for so young. Good job. :goodjob:

:peace: from the mountains.

I can only wish that mine would respond to the LST like yours did! I like them fat like that, that way the boys will leave them be!

Woodsman, when a plant is over-watered, if it can it stores that water and fattens up the leaves to store the water so it doesn't drowned. This additional weight and strain causes the stems to loose strength and the leaves start to droop. I would just do 1/2-2/3 the water right now until they grow bigger.. btw, over-watering causes slow growth. So they should pop up a lot if you just let em sit until the soil is dry 1" down.. If your soil is loose, it will be further down

Great advice as always! Ya I've got loose soil so I go down a lot deeper than a couple inches. I stick my finger as far down as it will go 3-4 inches. As of now I haven't watered the 4 larger plants since the transplant like 4 days ago. I checked just a little while ago and they are slightly damp at 3-4 inches down (black earth). Maybe tomorrow, I'm not in a hurry. I did over water early on prior to transplant and they did do the 'droop on me'. I should have known better!

Well If they are growing that quick after transplant, you did a good job. And its hard to tell when they are rooted and dont require those swamp like conditions to root. but they are growing and thats all that counts. Im thinking your plants are about to take off

I can't wait for that to happen. At this stage of their life and just before harvest has to be the most agonizing time for me......Wait for it to grow..... wait for it to be ready!.......

I'm just fixing up a bowl of my Oct 2008 outdoor harvest. I've got about an 1/8th left of the stuff and a couple of prescription pill containers full of roaches. The stuff is pretty good except for the taste ... like hay or leafy as I didn't cure them right...Another thing I learned here! I'll be puffin and then probably to bed!

Thanks buddy! I use FF for flowering, but I think I'll find something for veg as well. My Alaska fish emulsion is not making a spash with the wife!

yea thats what i have... doesn't last long in a jug mixed, even if it is 2degrees c... mine sat and turned ammonia-ish raising the pH up there which curled and twisted my leaves all up...

LOL I can imagine getting sick of that smell after a while! :laughtwo:

It is really bad you know, I've used it outside for my grows where unless you stick your nose in the bottle (not recommended), it's not noticeable. Inside (we have a great room / loft type home) the whole placed smelled like a fish cleaning station after a holiday weekend!

Thanks for the warning. I'll never pre mix mix the stuff!

That's using only 1/4 strength for a few plants.

oddly enough, my older ladies dint mind it that bad but the new ones took it like a lemonhead and puckered all up...lol

Your older ones developed an acquired taste for it!

thats true, the mixture slowly got diluted over time due to adding water to bring the level back up in the jug, may have also been due to recycling my 'flush' water... dont/didnt really know the effects of it... it did finally cripple my Blueberry Smack tho... just got too zealous...

Couple of pics of Plant #1 in full torture mode and a nice close up shot

Wondering if the very low humidity is detrimental to the plants. I know that it is a good thing in flower, but what about in veg. should I raise it up and if yes, what is a good level? I have open water in the tent, but it doesn't seem to raise it. Suggestions please. Reminder that It is winter here and the heat is on all the time.

Can't quite see enough to be sure if your leaves have sort of a raised appearance between the veins of the leaves on the plant but if they do that's the sign of too low humidity. I do know that for veg you want something over 50% and 60-70% is better. I use a cool mist vaporizer in my veg room. Misting on a regular basis is also good. In a pinch a fan blowing over a bowl of water can help some.
