Woodsman Outdoors

I am not much of a star gazer, but I have funny story for you. Sort of funny. I had a girl friend that lived in Iron Mountain Michigan. For those that don't know where that is, it is in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, North of Wisconsin. Her family had a Cabin in the woods that we would go to most weekends. One time in the winter we had a Lunar Eclipse and I thought I would try to photograph it in the remote woods near the cabin. It was about zero degrees the night of the eclipse. I had gotten out of my truck and set up my camera on a tripod. I only planned to be outside for a little while so I didn't have a coat on. I had even left the truck running. I asked my girl friend to close truck door and somehow or another she (or I) had locked the doors. When I went to get back in the truck, freezing my ass off I panicked when I seen the doors locked. I had no choice but to break into the truck. I went into my tool box and got a hammer and broke the small slider window. I felt it would be an easy home fix. Then I had to slide in through the tiny slider opening, but I got in. Well, when I went to buy a replacement for the window there were none to be found. Ford only sold the entire assembly and it was $1500!!!! $1500!!!! Well, sadly I had to turn it into my insurance. Because I was afraid they would cancel me for something for doing something so stupid I had to tell them that I stopped fast to not hit a deer and a hammer flew into it. I know, I am a bad.

You're right, that was a funny story. I've done similar things, breaking the most expensive window on the whole vehicle when I thought it would be the cheapest....

Cool, Woods. I used to have a scope but I sold it to my aunt. It was automatic and you could plug it into a laptop. It came with software and knew when you could see certain planets, meteors or constellations. You just click with your mouse and it tracks over to what you want to look at and locks on. No adjusting when the star moves out of the field of view. It was badass. I spent many hours stoned looking at the colors of Jupiter and Saturn. Saturn still looked tiny through the scope, but it was for sure cool to see the rings. I had a hard time looking at the moon. It's so bright it would blind me. Lol. Later, Brother.

Sounds like a very cool scope Bud! That would be great to see in real time on the computer.

Not really in a dark area. I think that where I am is a 4-5 on the Bortle Dark-Sky Scale. 1 1/2 hours away we have a very small area that is a 2. It is up high and takes some work to get there but it is SO worth it.

I started w/ one of those little Tasco POS when was about 13/14.(Ha Ha) While good for very few objects, it got me hooked. I would kill to have an 8" Dob now. Maybe again one day huh?

There is a piece of software called Starry Night. It is amazing. If you have never heard of it it is well worth taking a look at. It taught me how to read the sky better than anything else I have found.

Hope all is well w/ ya brother!

Ya I've seen it in my Orion catalog they send me every few months. Mine came with a basic program 'The Sky' Like most things that are for use with the computer, I just use it's most basic function (nightly map) while the other stuff is too confusing for me! LOL

lost a shoebox full of seeds when i was a youngster all the best we collected those are yet to come back there was 1 thai looked like brown gold wish i had that never came back to these parts

It's been many many many years since I had Thai stick, (may not have been real as I had no idea at the time) That sucks to loose all those seed Holy!

Hey Woodsman how are things? Don't forget to reenter your Pink Lady pics into the POTM contest. I'm feeling a groundswell of support for her!
Thank Blue, I will get around to it eventually (I hope) It was an effort to get the first ones up there and then they changed the whole thing till this month. I'll see about it soon though, I'm so far behind on my harvest pics and it's driving me mad! Did the rest of the Pink Lady a few days ago and most of my bagweed #1A yesterday. Plus I've got tens and tens of pics of the Pink lady before I chopped her down that still need to get sorted out!

At least you had some clothes on, could have gone out for a quicky in the snow (who knows, it has happened, some do it!) and then found yourselves locked out in your birthday clothes!

You're right, that was a funny story. I've done similar things, breaking the most expensive window on the whole vehicle when I thought it would be the cheapest....

I don't think anything on a vehicle is cheap nowadays! Had my Jeep at the garage the other day for a few issues. one of which was the wiper motor not working all the time. Told me that Chrysler wanted almost 300 bucks for it! After market a little less! I picked one up at the junk yard yesterday for 79 bucks with a 6 mo warranty. I'll put it on myself.

Nothing like a bit of peer pressure! I want pictures too! :ganjamon:

Sorry for keeping you all waiting! Had to watch Iron Man 2 with my wife (had to return it tomorrow). Not sure who I'd rather relax and have a smoke with, Scarlett Johansson or Gwyneth Paltrow? Let's see.........one can kill you with her bare hands and the other one you'd want to marry....:lot-o-toke: Tough dilemmas like this are making me crazy :rasta:

Being that my Pink Lady seems to taste like a Sour Diesel ( I'm no expert though), do these leaves look like Diesel leaves? Diesel growers? The Leaves have a very distinct shape to them like a 'closed hand' rather than an 'open hand'. Also, five fingered leaves.

Coming up next (hopefully tonight) my harvest pics of Bagweed #1A (1/3 of her is still growing).

As always, comments and suggestions are encouraged!

:rasta:Thanks!

Harvest Pics

Chopped about 2/3 of Bagweed 1A on Wed. She is possibly immature as she is about 30/70 clear/cloudy. I really enjoyed her high at this stage. Shes got a very intense and energetic buzz right now. I've left a third of her to mature a bit more.

That Cola is so fat and beautiful brother!!! Love the color's on it.

:peacetwo: my good friend from my little garden.

Hello Dog and Mountain, yup I love that resin. I lost a whole piece of it the other day after it took me so long to 'rub it up'. Must have fallen onto my lap and then when I got up must have fallen off somewhere, searched on my hands and knees! No luck! The littel invisible people that live under the furniture must have grabbed it up right away! LOL

I've got a nice little stash already though. Got to be careful smoking it, I've gagged up a few lungs from it already!!!:rasta:

:lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke::lot-o-toke: Here ya go guys don't know ehich one it was, but they are all good so far!

Woodsman, your doing great! :yahoo:

Nice pictures of great subjects. Too bad the pink one had to go, sure was a plant to behold. How many more do you have to go? Hopefully your good luck will hold so you can harvest them all. Just plain old "Way to Go!".

Hello to Janet! She's been a big part of this....that girl loves you Brother! :thumb:
