Woodsman Outdoors

woods bro!

I do believe both yours and mine are SD It looks just like all the pictures I saw.

Today I went out to check on them in the morning before the storm and cut of the biggest branch and brought it home. Bout an 1/8th of the plant but it was the bottm branch so it had allot of fluffy stuff.

Dude I found them stem borers in various places too... Damn buggers I got pictures of one Ill throw them up here soon gotta take off for a family thing first though.

When I cut the branch it smelled like lemons and spice and the buds whiloe trimming had a spicy smell that tickles the throat

I smoke the scissor hash and thought damn I dont feel a thing (wasnt much) then pow I was fully stoned and couldnt bring myself to do anything but watch the history chanel for 4 hours lol.

I want some Sour Diesel :cheertwo:

this plant is now turning purple, both the leaves and the calyxes.

Dang... the Sour Diesel has a lot of sativa in her.

I was surfing the Attitude when i saw a description pic that showed pink hairs on a bud and I thought of you, made a mental note to share what I found, and wouldn't you know I have forgotten the strain I was lookin at.:tokin:

While this plant looks like a hybrid (leaves) it has the up high of a sativa. Also not too long ago I had the great fortune of tasting several different strains. Though they were unmarked I knew that one of them was a SD. that was one of the few that I was able to ID, along with a Strawberry. This Pink and Purple Lady of mine tastes just like that Sour Diesel sample I tried. Never forgot that taste!

hum a pink diesel that nl is looking good thats nl 5 is that nl haze

No haze in a #5 buddy, she is a sweet stinker though and is starting to fatten up now. Very quickly.

oh woodsman,
great pics...and they look so good...oh, by the by, until they finish getting most of the moisture out, i keep my jars about half to two thirds full, moving room...also air room....i take the lids off and either dump onto table or shake and roll the jar to mix with fresh air....other wise too ez to get mold...mho...L

Great advise L! I had thought of that and last night I evened out my #1B so that both jars are now 3/4 full instead of the one packed to the top. Thanks for the confirmation! One of the two Pink #2's looked like it was full (in the photo) but it is just an illusion as I've got just a few longer tops in there stacked vertically, with plenty of air in between them.

Yeah be real careful now Woodsman, you don't want to lose your crop to mold. I hate mold.

I pulled 6 of my 9 too early, and 4 were way too early, but I instantly had much more peace of mind. I'll never put myself in that position again. But it looks like you've got way more privacy than I do.

What privacy I do have is disappearing day by day as the taller weeds die off and the tree leaves thin out. Places that used to be really obscured are now 'yikes!' places. The girls only get outdoors now when I'm home to babysit.

One day I am going to do a great outdoor. I am going to have it on a long dirt road that leads the house. All fenced and with dogs having their run of the place. Floodlights that are motion activated and pressure sensitive mats in the soil that set off audible alarms.

I know how not to get taken, but I didnt have time for all that this round. I had to hurry up and get plants in the ground because a clone opportunity presented itself out of nowhere. (That seems to be happening to me a lot nowadays). I guess the world is, always be prepared for your next clone adoption.

My friends at the collective do all those things I talked about above for security with a bit more. They have people standing armed watch with guns. Can you believe that? An armed compassionate care collective, but it is a true story. I worry about my involvement with them as I evolve with them as I could never shoot a person over property. Much more has to be at stake before I can fire a weapon at someone.

Very nice love those pics of them all jared up... Great job
Sorry bro I missed your post!

Thanks, they do look awful cute all dressed up in glass! LOL

Man sorry about the stem borers! I thought it was an exclusive engagement they had with me!

Sounds like your stuff is awful good also. Great work!

I've got the same issue as far as the 'cover' disappearing as the leaves fall. I'll be taking action on that very soon. I've got some 2' x 4' sections of lattice that I'll attach to the railing on the deck thanks to my local Home Depot Marijuana Growers Supply Store.

Claymore mines hooked up to those motion detectors will also be good.

I feel for ya bro!

As promised here is a few pics of your best friend woods...
Had some more pics but like I said in my journal computer ate them.

Well that's very close, in fact the eyes are exactly the same. Mine don't have the lines on their back and are a white/cream color at first, and then as they grow larger (and more stoned) they turn orange. In my earlier research I believe I found what they actually call a 'hemp borer'. If I remember right, they looked more like yours (stripes/patterns on body). Definitely the same family of bastards! I'm sorry for you! keep an eye out for the dead sections of buds while you harvest (if your not done yet). I found many hidden behind the outer buds and would have gone unseen had I not thought of looking. I will lose about a quarter of my crop to those bastards when this is done and weighed.
Those sure are some nasty little things.

Don't want to be smoking any of those bastards even if they will dry up and shrivel like little prunes! It takes me so much longer to trim my stuff because of these things. I have to look under all the carpet!

Hey Woods, how is the smoke from the pink lady? smooth i hope. sure hope the weather holds for you, cant wait to sample my own grow,,should be finished around christmas!!

cant wait to see what you grow next year!

Howdy Ke, the Pink Lady tastes like a Sour Diesel I tried a few months ago. Almost positive. If not a SD then something similar or with some of the same genetics. I like the flavor very much and that's just from 6 days of drying, not even cured yet.

There was pest like this that was attacking the sugar canes in Australia. They had a similar pest attacking the sugar canes in Puerto Rico but had a toad that would eat them. They called them cane toads.

So the country of Australia allowed shipment of the toads to the country to control their pest. The problem they soon discovered is that the weevel was not found near the ground like those in Puerto Rico but up higher near the flowers. Bring the toads in was completely useless. As time passed, with no real predators against the toads (they emit a physcoactic substance from their skin that is a high for some and a poison for dogs and other small animals). The toads bred like bunnies. They are taking over sections of the country. They fill the highways with living and dead toads, and the sounds of the night air belong to the toads. Many a family has lost a pet to these creatures and there is no stopping them. A certain segment of society seeks out the cane toad for it's phsycoactive emissions. One can merely lick a toad and go off on a trip like LSD or Mushrooms.

Another one of man's great ideas going bad.

I have been narrowing down the list of suspects. The larvae I am about to mention are all found in California and much of the Pacific Northwest, but their range beyond California I don't really know. So far, I think it could be any of these, or any combination of these worms that are causing us all such headache.

Could be:

Corn Earthworm
Tobacco Budworm
Oriental Fruit Moth
Wireworm
Any variety of cutworm
Pickleworm
Peach Twig Borer
Potato Tuberworm
Lawn Moth

There are many, many types of moths. And I haven't even begun to look at beetle larvae much. I am leaning more towards moth larvae than beetle at this point, but not throwing out the possibility it could be a type of beetle larvae. I think there are at least 3-5 different species attacking cannabis plans in California, if not more.

Going to be studying Order Hymenoptera (ants, bees, wasps, sawflies) as my main focus. There are new wasp discoveries all the time, so I am keeping my fingers crossed I can find a non-invasive predatory wasp to combat these.

:tokin: Hey brother, long time no visit, I have been watching, just not up to much thinking....stupid allergies, feel like a snot factory...am glad our girls are expectorants...:cough:.

You already have had a nice harvest so far with more to come!!!...and some beautiful girls , hope you are getting some nice shots of them as the cold changes their colors...I love fall and our girls.

:passitleft: Ere, you take this...I am pretty high already...:trance:, really hard to write this...I like my Cheese hash on SLH...VROOM....I am off to bed I think, finally able to sleep. Kinda been sleeping here...:)

:peace: Woods my good friend.

Praying mantids are great garden protectors, but they won't do anything about these worms. They are too imbedded within the plant for the mantids to see, find and catch. The trick will be predatory wasps. The smallest wasp species is so small, 5 or 6 of them in a row will fit on the head of a pin. Predatory wasps prey primarily on moth and butterfly larvae. They inject their eggs inside the catterpillar and the larvae of the wasp literally eat the worm alive. Each type of wasp specializes in one or a couple types of grub that they target. They are experts at finding them, and some are even equiped with long, pentrating ovipositors (egg tube) that can penetrate bark and plant tissue to reach the grubs within.

Many of these wasps, when presented with a similar type of grub, will go after worms that they normally dont target. Predatory wasps are used in a variety of argicultural applications so my goal is to find one specific to these worms so that much like lady bugs, wasps can be introduced into one's garden to combat these. Thats my hope anyway... I do have a ways to go.

woods,
post me a pic of the pinky, leaves turning and all....my sour diesels go purple when the weather turns cooler at night...i imagine the nights are quite a bit cooler there already, i really notice it in the sour diesel....dont know if it would turn in the tropics tho, at least first generation....the o.j. plant gets fire engine red hairs on it...really pretty, but that diesel is a distinct pink and purple....dont know if i took pics of mine or not....was offered alot of money for that plant by a friend grower, so when it was time to groom, the hubby didnt want them to see all those purple leaves on it so he carefully trimmed all them off....had another giggle fit....he is sooo sweet sometimes, and innocent....gotta love him....anyway, if you can post me a pic....please, L

this is one just starting to really get purple....this is the only one ive found so far, out of nearly 900 photos i posted here....

If I was back in my early twenties and knew about this, I'd have gone to Australia to lick frogs! :rasta: Why did I not know this?

++Reps my friend for all that research! Great list of suspects I might add. I've yet to find a match for my little bastards though. Very similar to a corn borer (a lot of corn around here) or the hep borer Which like Stealthy's pic is 'patterned'. Mine are white or cream when they first bore into the stem and eventually turn orange after getting high for awhile. I would too if I lived inside a pot plant! But mine do not have any pattern or legs for that matter. I would imagine that they may have appendages, just too small to see with the naked eye, right? You my friend will one day discover an antidote for this problem. Of this I am sure! Thanks!

I like my idea of tassering the plants with electricity

You'd have plants looking like this...:rasta:

Thanks for the smoke buddy! I've got some great pics coming up with the purple like Lavendar has mentioned. I'll try to get them out this morning before bed. Good to have you around my friend, please take care of those allergies and yourself!:blunt::blunt:

When I was a kid, I always thought that it was illegal to kill a preying mantis. Is or was that true?

About the toads, I imagine that they've found something, just that they are out of control already.

Praying mantids are great garden protectors, but they won't do anything about these worms. They are too imbedded within the plant for the mantids to see, find and catch. You know, I've seen tiny wasp like critters hopping (flying) around from leaf to leaf like they are on a big time mission. Very tiny, maybe an 1/8 of an inch long.

The more I hear about the SD the more I think that's what I got. I've got the pink hairs and now with the cool temps, nice purple leaves and some calyxes also. I will post some very nice pics (from yesterday) as soon as I get done with these posts.

this is one just starting to really get purple....this is the only one ive found so far, out of nearly 900 photos i posted here....

Beautiful L! Mine is very similar to yours, though the pink hairs tend to dissapear as the plant ages. They turn a light reddish orange when ripe. Side by side with my other Bagweed (dry) the hairs are definitely a lighter color. The other plants have a dark red or brown hue to them when mature or after being dried.

I'll work on a few pics for ya!
