Winter Weedy Wonderland - Auto Grow - Royal Queen Seeds

Thanks for that Wayne. Don't ever be afraid to speak up here, I don't bite....despite what some people think šŸ˜‚ and am open to all comments/suggestions/opinions.
I have never had an Auto take this long, and if it had been from the overwatering early on stunting their progress, I didn't understand it because the Royal Gorilla suffered the same and that is doing great.
These are getting big, full, and have stretched a lot...they just refuse to go into flower.
it's possible some one who was packaging the seeds put photoperiods into a auto flower package

I didnā€™t want to say anything because you werenā€™t asking me, but I did 12/12 for the creamatic and it was either what was needed or perfect timing because she went into flower for me after several days. I think a week and half. I suspect not all autos are as auto as we think.
Lol wow it's a crazy thought to think autos are on a spectrum rather than 1 or the other,my mind is blown lol

What are your thoughts on soil PH number range?
I just ran into a soil PH tester in my lawn and garden drawer in the garage. Never used it. LOL I'm trying locate some batteries for it this morning.
Just curious what any of you feel is the optimal range for the PH of the soil for the plants.

The soil ph should be in the same range that the plant likes its water. If itā€™s off in one direction or the other it can cause lockouts.

Iā€™ve heard ffof can be slightly acidic so donā€™t be surprised if thatā€™s what you find. But that soil has been in use a couple months so Iā€™m not sure.

I believe it is slightly acidic, totally different than the soil blend I used to make myself and one of my favorites called "Potters Gold" that was made locally. It is no longer available though. Made me sad....
I have a partial bag of the FF left, I'm going to test that as soon as I find some of those blasted coin batteries for the tester.

šŸ˜³ oh no! Iā€™d half to order them unless the grocery store had some I think. Bummer.

You can add some natural amendments to raise ph if itā€™s too low.

If you wanted add one tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon soil to raise ph .5 points. Be careful not to over alkaline it though as it will adjust over the next two weeks, not instantly. Either topdress it in or amend into soil before planting.

Not sure I will need an amendment yet. I do have dolomite available if I should need it. I think for the Spring Grow I'm going to do my own soil blend again. It was a lot of work, but I was very happy with it. A member here gave me a recipe many years ago, he is no longer on the forum.

Iā€™d love to build my soil. But hereā€™s where I am aiming in reality. My neighbor is in shakey health and 86 years old (bless her soul) and sheā€™s been organic gardening here in Maine for the last 45 years. Her compost and soil is exquisite! I plan to take it all when sheā€™s gone. Bwahahahah- sorry. Canā€™t help it. She knows I will and has no problems, in fact sheā€™s actually happy that Iā€™ll use it. Can I keep it going is another story altogether. Didnā€™t mean to sidetrack there but that soil is fire.

Anyway Iā€™ve seen a few recipes for LOS Iā€™d like to try out for easy maintenance and high brix. The recipe your friend gave you is intriguing. Sad to think that some of the best members on this site have moved on or passed on, but their contributions live on in grows like you are planing. ā™„ļø

Yeah, his member name was PeeJay. He was an awesome member with a hilarious side to him that I really miss.
I printed out that recipe, now all I have to do is find it. LOL
I'm jealous of that compost opportunity!
I absolutely have to try to get another compost pile going here, but need to find a way to keep the animals out of it. They always made a mess of it. LOL
So many plans for spring this year, and I am thinking about it waaaaay too soon.
Something to look forward to while we try to keep our toes warm right now. šŸ˜‚

You can use fencing and lights on the compost. Or do it like my neighbor, Iā€™ll send a pic of her setup later on, Iā€™m not nearby atm. She has three boxes of wood with hinged tops. Three of them for various stages on decomposition.

I love a good personality here and we are lucky to still have so many that are active. Sometimes I read through grand daddy blacks stuff because he does have a golden personality too. (We arenā€™t friends like that, I just creep his shit sometimes.)

This forum is definitely a lot deeper than just grow tips. Friendships are bound to develop over so many years and posts.

Iā€™m not that deep but I do have a soft heart.

I still have several very close friends that I met on this forum years ago. They are no longer here for various reasons.
I would love a pic of the compost thing when you have time. Don't take an extra trip or anything, there is plenty of time before spring. Dangit!
I may put a pile in the corral where I'm going to toss some weed seeds. I need to be sure it's not too far away or I will get lazy. LOL

I have to go fill her generator and start it for her either today or tomorrow so Iā€™m be sure to get the goods then.

Itā€™s awesome youā€™ve made connections like that. Itā€™s something I have a lot of trouble with šŸ˜‚

Just do it, start now and think of the rest later. If you get compost down now youā€™ll be months ahead when it time to go.

I was told to not use the stems when brix testing. Why i can't say for sure. Different outcome I suppose?

Soil ph. 6.5 ish and if you're running a landrace sativa it can go up to the low 7's is what The Rev says In True Living Organics.
Thanks StoneO! Was just thinking about you, listened to the Bee Gee's "Massachusetts" on the music queue this morning. LOL

I will be sure to leave the stems off when I test. Couldn't find my garlic press, so it's locking pliers and coins to the rescue.
