Time to break out the big guns for squeezing. There is nothing for scale but these are a huge set of pump pliers.

I have those too. But those locking vise grip pliers are what I am going to use. I can tighten as needed and it's soooo much easier on the hands.Time to break out the big guns for squeezing. There is nothing for scale but these are a huge set of pump pliers.
Do you have (or have access to) a bench vise?Well, I tried to use regular pliers yesterday with the quarters to test how it worked......no likey. My hands were killing me. LOL We get old...we lose strength. It's. just. not. fair.
I also came up with the juicer5000. It works ok, I think it needs a few tweeks.I have those too. But those locking vise grip pliers are what I am going to use. I can tighten as needed and it's soooo much easier on the hands.
Yeah, I installed a bench vise a few years ago. But, I'm going to see how the vise grips work first. The vise is in a very cold garage. LOLDo you have (or have access to) a bench vise?
Close the grip when it’s drying so the surfaces set aligned properly. Just saying, you don’t want to glue it together and it doesn’t crush the leaf lolI have several sizes of these. I'm going to gorilla glue the coins to a set and use them for just the brix testing purpose. I have some of those snap out flat metal pieces from an electrical box that I would prefer, but cannot locate them yet.
I just responded on Gee64's thread to Ramblin dude's post, that I was contemplating my pre-press mold for this.
I keif press or similar might be easier to manage if you don’t have the strength for pliers.
Nice squeeze Lady C!Alllllrighty then! I had a fleeting thought of using the Rosin press yesterday and completely forgot.
This is going to work effortlessly. I just have to get the leaf balled up and better positioned in the press before pressing it down. This was a quick test.
That is awesome. I'll look that over more tomorrow when I'm at my PC. Phone sucks. LolOk I’ve gone down and did the thangs for the neighbor. Here is her setup. I was sure it had a lid but it doesn’t. And you can believe with every fiber of your being we have a ton of pesty animals out here. She doesn’t have a problem with anything rummaging the compost often. She said she has way more problems with animals going after her vegetables while they are growing.
Three containers she moves fresh table waste into the first one and then moves it all down the line as it composts. Ending with her mix of soils and the compost and more worms.
She said it’s critical to leave gaps between the wood and to make one face removable so you can shovel out the compost to move it. She has achieved this by leaving screws in the wood on top, where the next piece will sit on that and leave a nice gap. The face is removable because it’s build to just slide into the slots.
Her raised beds. I was able to use one off over by the woods last year for some Brussels sprouts, carrots, cabbage, peppers, broccoli, watermelon and cantaloupe. But I imported a ton of soil, that bed I used was abandoned for some years and I had to really fix it up and fill it in. I wish I’d been able to use her soils!
The raised beds are 4x8x2’
It’s in winter mode right now.
The whole thing just sits on the ground, the bottom is open
I hope I don't get spanked for this being off topic somehow. I don't believe it is because it is referencing soil to use to grow our weed. So, no more comment on that. That's the same refractometer I have. You need to calibrate it with some distilled water and a small screwdriver if I remember correctly. Gets to squeezing.Well, it's finally here.
I have added new equipment to my grow toys. ;-)
@Gee64 or anyone else, any tips or hints on using the refractometer? Cleaning etc.?
I have the AC Infinity VPD IR thermometer and the Aichos portable Optical Refractometer.
I'll put these to use later today. Apparently there is no heat in the zon delivery trucks, these two boxes were seriously cold. I used my IR kitchen thermometer on them when I brought them in, they were at 38 F. LOL
Just now reading the little instruction booklet. Was too cold to handle for a while. LOLThat's the same refractometer I have. You need to calibrate it with some distilled water and a small screwdriver if I remember correctly. Gets to squeezing.
