Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

Have you had the pleasure of growing a DDA yet? If so you could probably smell that one from there.

I like auto flowering plants to use as fillers. They'll grow anywhere, under any lights, with any lighting schedule. So I may have an auto that is a week into flowering growing in my veg tent under a 450 watt LED at 18/6 lighting. I harvest a plant out of my flowering tent but don't have any plants ready to replace it. So I just grab that auto flower plant and stick it in my flowering tent at 12/12 lighting under my QB lights and the plant does just great. When a photo plant is finished vegging and is ready to go into flowering I simply pull the auto flower out of the flowering tent and replace it with that photo plant. The auto flower goes back into the veg tent and is quite content. First time I did this I was certain the plant would do something whacky...….nanners at the very least, or maybe just die. But that first auto grown in a couple different environments with different lighting and light schedules did really quite well.

So now I keep an auto flowrer plant running almost all the time. I HATE having an open slot in my flowering tent. It just seems such a waste of light.

That's a beautiful plant, Beez!

By coincidence, I just harvested my DDA this afternoon. Beez, you might recall that this was the odd-ball plant that started to bloom on Day 18 - way ahead of schedule, throwing my plans to reverse her off-course. I did a terrible job of growing her, and she ended up tiny as a result. She limped across the finish line, though. This is her, and her trichs, just before the axe fell - my whole plant was smaller than one of your minor branches. LOL.

:)

If/when I do autos again, DDA will be in the mix. I like your strategy of using them for filler in the tent. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Well she may have been little but she sure showed all the attributes that makes a Dark Devil a Dark Devil. I have a feeling once you get a taste you'll be starting another one ASAP.

Hey everyone,

Welcome to the long weekend! (I hope most if not all of you get Monday off).

I moved my little ones into their 3-gallon fabric pots just now. I think that I timed it pretty well this go around. I wasn't getting the droopy leaf look I got last time when I waited too long. A bit of root circling, but definitely not root-bound. Nice root systems going, and I think they will love the extra space.

I am pretty convinced that the sad leaves on my Chem 91 was a calcium deficiency. You can see the wrinkled and slighted spotted leaves in the pics below. I already increased the cal/mag a few days ago, and the new leaves look pretty good.

PS: the three older plants on the right are my attempt at keeping mothers/bonsais. There are 2x Cookie Kush and 1x Train Wreck. They just got a trim, so are looking a bit sad. Trying to train them into a better shape over time as well.

Hope that everyone is doing great!

Good luck. I’m along for the ride

Hey Derek - nice to see you over here. Will be great to have you along for the ride!
 Hell yeah. I love all the knowledge I'm getting on this site. Plus, there are some cool ass people just to bullshit with too. Looking forward to the ride!

That is one that has my attention too. When I finally decide to do some autos, this one is definitely on the short list.

Hi Emilya. I want to thank you in showing me the way of watering our cannabis plant. I would still be in the dark. Everyone is so helpful, thank you to all. I have 5 out of 6 babies up and running. Two, still have the shell on. I'll snap some pic's later. It will be interesting, to see these auto's grow. :bong:

I am so glad that you found us @Bean 7175 and happy that the word has gotten out about my method to water this weed, and that it is documented right here at 420Mag! Now that several people are talking about the wet/dry cycle on YouTube, this work is actually driving new members to this forum and I am overjoyed that my writing is now helping so many people all over the globe!
Imagine how it was years ago, when people didn't know about these forums or were afraid to join them... and how in the dark most new growers of weeds were when they first went into this thing. It used to be the trend that growers would turn to these forums as a last resort, in order to save a grow that had already gone bad... but today I see a new trend, of legal and well researched new growers being pointed in the right direction by so many helpful people just like me on these forums. The words that my friend Weez'ard in Hawaii said to me years ago have come true, "There is no longer any rational excuse for ignorance."
I am honored to have become one of those who are now passing this knowledge forward and in awe of what we have accomplished in the last 20 years as far as acceptance, legalization and research into this amazing plant.

I unfortunately have not grown DDa. I would absolutely love to though

Well with all this talk, I'm going to have to add DDa to my list as well. Jeeze, I'll never work my way through my seed stash. I'm too A.D.D. when it comes to many things. Buying seeds and sticking with growing what I bought/planned is one of those things!

It really is insane the amount of knowledge here at 420 mag, so much of which has come from you yourself @Emilya ! It’s so bizarre to me, when I talk to my buddies who are heavy recreational users and only dream about having their own gardens, their minds are blown by some of the technical stuff I share that is absolutely common knowledge around here.. things like when to harvest, how to root cuttings directly in soil, training for bigger yields, different nutrient delivery systems.. Even for me, having an awesome garden was a pipe dream.. now I’ll be pulling down hopefully well over a half pound in a couple months.

I love this place! Thank you for everything I’ve learned from you all! :green_heart:

Well said, Chef!

Happy days, everyone,

Here are my two chems. It is DAY 16 since germination. They got upsized to 3-gallon fabric pots a couple of days ago. Older leaves on the chem 91 not looking good, and also getting some slight variegation on new leaves. I suspect still not enough cal/mag, so will be increasing that again.

Hope everyone's grows are going well!

Your two plants look just fine to me. I do not see any signs of cal-mag deficiency from what I can see in your photos. Variegation is not something I worry about. As always, that is just my personal opinion. See what PW thinks.

I think you’re in great shape Bard! Only the one set of leaves shows a problem. The new sets look peachy keen. That’s what matters!
And the dinachem is lookin dynamite. Happy little baby

Ive been meaning to show you my bonsai mom. She was topped at the 4th node. But today I decided to cut her back to the second.

I want her to be like a cup shape, not long and oval. Also I don’t need her for sometime, and if I did I could make her take off quick.
