Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

My head is starting to swim a littlebit from all the names and all the helpful buzz showing up on this thread. The pictures along with solving and sharing both good and troublesome issues, are also very entertaining!

I really wish i had time to keep up with such hustle and bustle!

Here's chem#4 day 2 in rockwool. What's into a five month (or so) sentence in my 4 ft long luxury suite.

I use mono color settings to shoot in the psychedelic grow light colors, the pictures are beautiful if I'm stoned however it deafens the truth. And the contrast is better on my cheap-O-android phone camera. (someone mentioned it).

It's also getting clear to see that seed # 3 is also gonna be a DUD after day 4 in germ! I even manually, carefully split the seam for it yesterday and it's not cooperative. o_O

What’re you hiding with the black and white photos!?
Haha just kidding

I just want to avoid turning of the LEDs just to take a qiuck pic. My phone screwed up most of my entire photo gallery grow journal from January to early August for my Killer NUKE CBD. I mad so many miserable mistakes that it only yielded exactly 100 grams dried, cured and doing whatever that thing buds do when they're mellowing in the jar.

This is a light and fluffy product in a one gallon bowl.. I'm getting happier all the time...

Howdy Folks. Hope everyone is doing well. I finally got my grow room situated for this up coming grow. The Chemdoggings from Mephisto Genetics went into Ziploc bags on Tuesday and were ready to be put in soil this morning. I was planning for 4 plants, so I germinated an extra just in case. All 5 popped a decent tap root, so they all went in. I'll figure out if I have room for the extra once I see what happens to the other seeds in this grow.

These are Autos, so I am shooting for a harvest date somewhere the laset week of October, first week of November. I am hopping to have it ready for consumption in time for the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

A few pics here, more in the grow journal.

Hope all is well!

Perfect @zeroday ! Nice clean and concise setup. Also good work on the paper towel method you use, doesn’t always work that well for everyone. An auto variety of chem... I think you’re the only one so far

Nice tap roots, and excellent set-up. Well done!

I agree, the setup looks Fresh and im glad that somebody is having such good luck with germination. 2 out of 3 attempts at the usual paper towel method are confirmed total duds! I had good vibes from DrSeeds for the first time out of 4 different vendors. But my bad carma is always there to bust my bunnleponics. I have 2 chem#4 beans left and will make every attempt to get another one to grow.

A head's up for folks near Halifax, NS. OK, make that Dartmouth. The Grow Op Shop on Ackerley has Mega Crop in the 9.9Kg bags. They will split them. I bought 2.5Kg for $32 CDN + taxes today.

Wow OldSalt, I thought you were all up into the chem grow thing, I'm trying to but my seeds only have one out of three attempts to even crack. Was it you that mentioned sand scarification? I even tried that with the third seed. Not a peak of a crack from that OR the one before her.

Just #1 is up and running being kept next to 2 thriving auto's.

Ine of these auto's is downright crazy, it's 3 months and it infested with a thousand of these little white hairy things, and it looks like they're trying to take it over completely! Wonder what could be?

 won't be any LARFING at this this kid, (except all the to the bank)..

I just put my 4th seed in to soak till it sinks or swims. This time instead of distilled water it's ph 5.5 tap water...

I'll be starting three seeds tomorrow. I'll document my seed starting process in the new journal.

@warezaholic I can share with you my method of germinating seeds for your consideration. You start with a Solo cup...red, blue it doesn't matter as long as it's a colored cup. Come up from the bottom two inches and put a 1/2" hole in the side of the cup. Fill the cup almost to the top with perlite.

Put a piece of duct tape over the hole. Mix some nutrients at 1/4 strength and adjust the PH to 5.5. Fill the cup till the perlite starts to rise up and then stop. Give it about an hour to absorb as much as it's going to absorb and then remove the tape. Now take a toothpick or something similar and make a hole about 3/8" deep and drop your seed in it and cover it with perlite. Then take a clear solo cup and put it on for a dome. Set the solo cup on a seed/seedling heating mat under your light/s and in 3-5 days your seeds will (if they're good seeds) sprout for you. If you try it and they sprout I'll walk you through transplanting them which is simple.

I have to give the chem a pass this next grow. I used my last indica to make rosin capsules for a cancer patient.

Sorry to hear that, Mr. Salt, but completely understandable. Nice of you to help a patient out, for sure. Good luck with whatever you are growing next.

Thanks for the help salt, give me a heads up and I'll try to apply it to this and future seeds.

And beez0404, to you too thanks! Question about that; I am sold on rockwool because of my Bubbleponic setups usinh 6 inch baskets on buckets.
I couldn't imagine how I could be transplanting perlite into hydro baskets.

I have some perlite that I used when I got way too big for my hat size and experimented with coco buckets outside. big fail! If i study better, it's something I might try again some day.

I'm 65 now. Once I get used to something its the old dawg is slow on the leash! Ya might need tug me along

Man, I've never even saw a live plant till this year and wasted hundreds on faild advice from YouTube Tidbits before I finally found 420 and found LIVE ADVICE from folks like you that care and share!

Youtubers cant be embarrassed if their advice messes up just hit the follow buttons (me trying to spell sheep noises).

I can't now figure out where the hell Google is heading! Especially when a simple question needing a "Yes or No" answer, leads into a 1000 word essay about every factoid the author can research then it smells my android and shovels ads after every breath.

I wish there was an app to solve Road Rage!

Just adding my 2 cents. After I read Emilya's post about why you let soil dry out, it totally made sense (thank you, again, Emilya). She explained that the pH goes up when dry and drops when wet. These changes allow for nutrition to be absorbed at the different pH. Also, when I used the wrong soil on a young plant and almost killed it, I put Coco in a solo cup and moved the plant with very little soil to the Coco. It gave her some reset time. Then put her in correct soil after she bounced back.
Loving watching this journal. I didn't even know what Chem Dog was before this. Lol

Helpful tip to make stronger oils or tinctures, use the same infused liquid on several small groupings of trim. I make a batch and then the next time I have trim I use the oil make the next round. I have some oil that's called 4 girls. I just made 75 mg brownies last night from some of that oil. So yummy. Next trim it will be 5 girls. Lol

I just posted earlier about my faild coco experiment. The way you can revive a soil problem with coco. Now i see why mine suffered from being germinated and started in jiffy soil pods a d moved directly into coco filled solos. Like I said, i was thinking above my rank as boot recruit. Only had one accident prone mid veg, photoperiod in my pocket and a half dozen failures. It still yielded 120 grams and over100 final tally.

Now I'm just starting me second semester of Cannacolledge 420. I'm daring to put my chem and my newly successful bubble room and strict nutrient regimen. Pre mixed in a heavily areated five gallon holding tank and an understanding of how to dilute for each individual plants needs. There's a second well areated bucket ph 5.5 water for thos afore mentioned diluting , and the new nutrient mix water source.

Not an app, a ziplock bag full of rubber rage balls to throw

Hey everyone,

Just a reminder to vote in this month's contests! A ton of great entries across all the different categories - nug, plant, photo, and member. Nice way to recognize the accomplishments of different folks here. Just a day or two left to vote.

Link to all the different contests is in my signature.
