Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

Hey everybody! I just wanted to stop in with an important update on my end.

. Two days ago I transplanted the other six into one gallon fabric pots (one ended up in a two gallon plastic pot cause that’s all I had).
That same day I went ahead and gave them all their first taste of the nutes.

My tap water comes out at 98 ppm and 6.65 pH.
my BPN feed schedule says 300-400ppm so I added nutes until I was at 450ppm then added ph up til 6.3.

Took this pic about two hours ago. We’re at day 16 today and the youngsters are starting to perk up after their transplants. I think one more day and everyone will be reaching for the light.

I hope all is well in everyone’s world. I took a look at the chemdog tree; it’s pretty interesting. I wish we knew more about the land races where it started though.

Bet they will bounce back quick with the extra leg room. Looking good.

So we have a bit of a lull until this comparative grow "officially" kicks off in August. So to pass the time, here's a question. Everyone can answer, regardless of skill/experience. The question is, what was the most difficult strain/cultivar you ever grew all the way to harvest? What were the challenges that you ran in to? How did you fix the problem?

Since we have some really seasoned growers here, as well as a bunch of greenies, should get an interesting range of answers.

For me, it was my photoperiod GSC, which is currently in Week 5 of flower. Can never get the sweet spot of nutrient EC for her. Always burning or starving. I think she will make it to the finish line, but I don't think I came even close to making the most of her potential.

I grew out 3 GSC a couple grows back and two done great but they was one that was never happy no matter what I done. Never could figure her out and she end up throwing nanners, I harvested her early because of the nanners and all the problems I had with her. I have another one going right now from the same pack of seeds but she has thrived her whole life so hopefully she will finish out strong. That’s my story about the GSC lol✌️

Funny that it was also a GSC. I would like to try to grow it again some day, but too many other options to try first!

I haven't found anything difficult to grow as much as I find the environment difficult to grow in. Outdoors is sooo much more difficult. The season is limited and if it the starts are like this year the growth is really slow. In a tent we can control pretty much everything from pests to lights. In general I do try and run easy strains though with high THC levels.

Pineapple Chunk in veg was the biggest cry baby I ever worked with. Any change in the environment no matter how slight and she would squeal like a pig. Once she hit flower she turned into a beast! Me and Aussie Blue almost cut them down at one point in veg.

I hear you! Finally nice weather around here these days, after a soggy, cold spring.

Yes, getting the indoor environment settled in has made life a lot easier for me, and happier for the plants. But just can't quite crack the nute formula for that GSC! :)

Sensitive type she was.

Anyone have any experience with Mephisto Chemdogging? I was considering picking up a few from Herbies to join in on this fun thread!

I've only used Megacrop and it's never failed me. I do have a GSC auto from Fastbuds that I may run after the comp grow to see how it reacts to that stuff.

We'd love to have you join us!

Assuming I can get the seed in time, I'm in!

The website I usually get my seeds from is down, says "Website Offline". Hoping it is temporary.
