Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

I have to thank you for that @Emilya I started to follow your methodology once I read your posts. It just made good sense.

Thank you for that, and yes, you see the proof right in front of you... playing wet/dry cycle with our weeds really makes a difference. What you did here is awesome... be proud. This plant is going to reward you for all that attention to detail very soon. :peace:

Very very nice girls Zero! everything looks perfect. What’s your methodology again?

5x Mephisto Chemdogging Autos. There are also 3x 4 assed Monkeys in a 4x8 tent with the Chemdoggings. Two 500watt (1000 watt equiv) Qunatum Board LEDs, in Happy Frog soil, all in 5 gallon fabric pots.

Oh my this poses a problem. What means do you have to get the RH up?

The only thing, I can think of is pans fill with water. Problem seem to be my middle name. I'll look for a humidifier on line. If this grow doesn't work. I'll just start over. I have been waiting for a air vent to be install. Wish, I could do it myself, but I can't climb up in the attic and I can't use a saw anyhow. We been waiting for the temp. to drop before he will go up in the attic. It's been record braking here in the SE.:):bong:

You wont lose the grow. It's not ideal growing conditions that's all. Cool mist humidifiers are relatively inexpensive and does well in my 4x4. We work with what we have so if it's not in the budget then try not to worry about it. Do the best you can.

Wise words, Mr. Sauga. Sometimes we all (me included/especially!) try to make things perfect. Worthwhile trying to make things better if we can, but not to the point of taking the fun out of the exercise! :)

Thank you, Sauga. I'll be babying them to the end.

Ms. Bean has got herself a journal up and running! Way to go Bean. I've signed up to follow along, and I am sure some of the other more experienced growers will be stopping by as well. Lots of help, if you would like any. :)

In my veg tent I have a Black Cherry Punch plant. I noticed about a week ago that it seemed to have stopped growing. Having nowhere to put it I was okay with her having slowed down her growth. Two days ago I noticed the leaves at the top part of the plant were just a bit lighter in color then the bottom of the plant. So I was looking at two factors here. First, she was needing to be watered every day. And the top of the plant was getting just a little bit lighter in color. To me this indicated she had run out of room in her pot. So today I decided to put her in a 5 gallon fabric pot and get her in the flowering tent. Here is a photo of her root mass when I up-potted her. I find that when I graduate from a solo cup to a 3/4 gallon pot to a 2 gallon pot, to a 3.5 gallon pot, and finally in a 5 gallon fabric pot the plant fills each pot with thick healthy roots which translates to bigger, stronger plants with more and nicer flowers.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say she was nearly root bound. She'll appreciate the extra soil and extra nutrients and minerals. Here she is in her forever home. The buds tend to get heavy on the BCP so I pushed in a handful of bamboo poles for future use.

Wow! Grually increasing the pot size and proper watering is the way to go!!!

You guys beat me too it!

Bean... the chart that Penny shared is a great tool. If you need help with interpreting it, just let us know, but it is pretty straightforward.

I was going to suggest that you target something around 60% humidity if your temps are in the high 70s, but it looks like even higher than that would be a good idea. Do you have a humidifier? If not, even hanging a damp towel in the area can help a bit. But it is a long way from 30% humidity to 60-70%. You can get small humidifiers on the 'zon for not a lot of money.

Hope that helps.

Yep, that help. thank you. And, yes, I do need help interpreting the chart.

I'm sure many of you know this already ... but just in case, I will point out an oversight I just found out about.

Recently I delved into trying to take clones from a parent plant and start them in Rockwool.

So far so good, ... but they were taking more than the expected two weeks to grow roots.

I went back and did a bit more research and read this:

To get your clones to root correctly, they need to have one node on the stem so you can bury it in the rockwool or jiffy pellets, as this is where the roots will come from. So, pick a branch that has 10 to 15cm from the tip to the node that you want to root, and cut about 4cm under the node with the scissors we mentioned before.

No problem!

Basically you are trying to manage temperature and humidity to be in the "green zone." For me, I find it easier to change humidity since I have a humidifier and dehumidifier. So what I would do is look at the temperature that your tents are at (either the air temperature right nearby the leaves, or even better, the leaves themselves). Earlier, you mentioned that you were running about 80F. So find the line that says 80F, and then move over to your right to find the "green zone." At 80F, you should be targeting a humidity of 70-85%, which is really high, and can be hard to reach. Which is why some of us were suggesting that you try to get your temperature down.

If you could get to 70F, then humidity of 55-75% would be perfect. Personally, I just shoot for 60% in veg, knowing that my temps are in the 70-75F range most of the time.

Another grower, @Kingjoe83 mentioned that he looks for 77F and 77% RH, which is kind of an easy way to remember.

Does that make sense?

Let us know if you need help with a humidifier if you decide to go that route!

I know, I will have question, so thank you, Bard.:thumb:

That holds true for most plants.

dude! That’s freakin insane Beez!! And the roots look so healthy. How long has she been in veg at this point?

are you using any bottles nutes or anything? Or just plain PhD water?

Oh right, forgot that. I'm using General Organics for both strains in the 4x8. I'm using Doc Bud's in the 5x5.
